Week 7 Preview

Six weeks in, and the Retro TBL is shaping up into one of the most balanced slugfests we’ve seen since the league reboot. The Lions stand tall at 5–1 after dismantling the Juggernauts, while the MadDawgz just posted a league-high 297 in Week 6 to announce themselves as legit contenders. The Rebels are heating up behind a multi-headed monster backfield, and the Bombers remain explosive yet volatile. Every game this week carries playoff weight — with seven teams at .500 or better and only one (sorry, Believers) still searching for their first win.
Let’s break it down...
This one’s got “statement game” written all over it. The Atoms are a mystery box — one week boom, next week fizzle — while the Rebels are fresh off a decisive 215-point thrashing of the BadM’fers. Justin Herbert vs. Drake Maye might be the marquee QB duel of the week, but this matchup is really about who controls the trenches: the Atoms’ inconsistent ground game or the Rebels’ relentless trio of Jacobs, Etienne, and Achane.
Quarterback: Herbert vs. Maye → Edge: Atoms
Running Backs: Kyren Williams vs. Jacobs/Etienne/Achane → Edge: Rebels (by a mile)
Wide Receivers: Jeudy/Addison vs. A.J. Brown/Metcalf → Edge: Rebels
Tight End: Pitts vs. LaPorta → Edge: Rebels
K/DST: Dicker/Cardinals vs. Boswell/Lions → Edge: Rebels
Narrative: The Atoms’ offense looks gassed, and the Rebels’ roster is loaded with active production. Unless Herbert throws a gem, this could get ugly early.
Prediction: Rebels 228 – Atoms 172
Aaron Rodgers was back in vintage form last week — four touchdowns and plenty of swagger — reminding everyone why the BadM’fers are never truly out of a game. But the Yinzers come in with their own statement to make after coasting to 229 points in Week 6. Jordan Love leads a steady, methodical offense, while Amon-Ra St. Brown, George Pickens, and Josh Reynolds make up a dangerous wide trio.
Quarterback: Rodgers vs. Love → Edge: BadM’fers
Running Backs: McCaffrey/Kamara vs. White → Edge: BadM’fers
Wide Receivers: Allen/Evans/Diggs vs. Amon-Ra/Pickens/Meyers → Edge: Slight Yinzers
Tight End: Fannin Jr. vs. Cade Otton → Edge: Even
K/DST: Lutz/Patriots vs. Pineiro/Rams → Edge: Yinzers
Narrative: Rodgers may have to sling 300+ again to keep pace, but the Yinzers’ defense and balance might prove too consistent in the second half. Expect fireworks, but experience might win out.
Prediction: Yinzers 244 – BadM’fers 236
For the Believers, every week feels like Groundhog Day. Spencer Rattler and Breece Hall have moments, but consistency is nonexistent. Meanwhile, the Bombers — led by Mahomes, Barkley, Gibbs, Jefferson, and Kelce — are simply a fantasy cheat code. When those five click, it’s lights out.
Quarterback: Mahomes vs. Rattler → Edge: Bombers
Running Backs: Barkley/Gibbs vs. Hall → Edge: Bombers
Wide Receivers: Jefferson/Waddle vs. Kirk/London/McConkey → Edge: Bombers
Tight End: Kelce vs. Mayer → Edge: Bombers
K/DST: McLaughlin/Steelers vs. Elliott/Falcons → Edge: Bombers
Narrative: The Believers just can’t catch a break. This Bombers lineup could be the deepest in the league when firing on all cylinders. If the Believers somehow pull this off, it’d be one of the biggest upsets in Retro history.
Prediction: Bombers 262 – Believers 171
Two squads sitting on the playoff bubble collide. The Condors have quietly found life through Jaylen Warren, who racked up over 150 total yards last week, while the Terrors lean on Davante Adams’ big-play brilliance. C.J. Stroud vs. Sam Darnold is an unlikely QB headline — but don’t be fooled. Stroud’s efficiency and Warren’s running could tilt this one.
Quarterback: Stroud vs. Darnold → Edge: Condors
Running Backs: Warren vs. Swift/Taylor → Edge: Even
Wide Receivers: Worthy/McCaffrey vs. Adams/Bourne/Doubs → Edge: Terrors (barely)
Tight End: Barner/Warren vs. Kittle → Edge: Terrors
K/DST: Butker/Chiefs vs. Karty/Packers → Edge: Condors
Narrative: Both teams mirror each other: good but inconsistent. Expect a grinder. The Condors’ momentum and Warren’s emerging star power could be the difference.
Prediction: Condors 227 – Terrors 212
This one’s must-watch TV. The Bulls’ methodical offense — led by Dak, CeeDee, and Evan McPherson’s golden leg — faces off with a MadDawgz squad that just dropped nearly 300 points. Ja’Marr Chase is red-hot, and Joe Flacco’s resurgence on the bench has this team believing again.
Quarterback: Prescott vs. Goff → Edge: Even
Running Backs: Jeanty/Judkins vs. Dowdle → Edge: Bulls
Wide Receivers: Lamb/Collins vs. Chase/Smith-Njigba → Edge: MadDawgz
Tight End: Ferguson vs. Engram/Kraft → Edge: MadDawgz
K/DST: McPherson/Jaguars vs. Ryland/Broncos → Edge: Bulls
Narrative: The Bulls’ consistency meets the MadDawgz’ volatility. Expect another high-scoring duel where a single monster stat line could swing it.
Prediction: MadDawgz 255 – Bulls 241
It’s desperation time for both. The Mudhawx finally broke through the 50-point barrier last week behind Chase Brown’s breakout, while the Juggernauts continue to struggle with lineup gaps and injury woes. Jayden Daniels gives the HAWX a spark, and that trio of Stevenson, Williams, and Harrison Jr. looks dangerous.
Quarterback: Daniels vs. Fields → Edge: Mudhawx
Running Backs: Stevenson/Williams vs. Walker/Cook → Edge: Mudhawx
Wide Receivers: Harrison/Thomas vs. Pittman/Franklin → Edge: Mudhawx
Tight End: Jonnu Smith vs. Andrews → Edge: Juggernauts (when active)
K/DST: Aubrey/Vikings vs. Carlson/Eagles → Edge: Even
Narrative: Two proud franchises trying to stop the bleeding. The Mudhawx have the depth and swagger edge here. Expect them to claw back to 3–4.
Prediction: Mudhawx 238 – Juggernauts 189
The Lions are the class of the league right now — deep, efficient, and unflappable. The Jackrabbits, meanwhile, are searching for answers after a 95-point dud in Week 6. Jalen Hurts must be Superman to have any chance against a Lions lineup that reads like an All-Pro team: Bijan, Montgomery, Olave, Rice, and McBride.
Quarterback: Hurts vs. Mayfield → Edge: Jackrabbits
Running Backs: Dobbins/Hubbard vs. Bijan/Montgomery → Edge: Lions
Wide Receivers: Sutton/Robinson vs. Olave/Rice/Odunze → Edge: Lions
Tight End: Ertz vs. McBride → Edge: Lions
K/DST: Folk/Colts vs. Fairbairn/Texans → Edge: Lions
Narrative: The Lions have been surgical, and the Jacks are simply outgunned. Hurts may keep it respectable, but the Lions look poised to keep rolling.
Prediction: Lions 276 – Jackrabbits 198
The Lions can lock down near-top seeding with another win, while the Rebels and Yinzers battle to stay in striking distance. The MadDawgz’ power surge makes them the scariest team in the Retro at the moment, and the Bombers’ offensive ceiling keeps them a championship favorite. Meanwhile, the Condors, Terrors, and Atoms are fighting to stay relevant before the playoff window starts closing.
And for the Believers and Juggernauts? It’s not too late — but it’s getting real close to midnight.
