Falling or Flying?
By Retro Boomin’ Breakdown
The regular season is entering the danger zone — every lineup, every injury, every kicker point matters. For some, Week 10 is a launchpad toward the postseason; for others, it’s a cliff edge with no parachute. With the standings tightening and wild-card dreams flickering, this week truly separates those falling from those flying.
The Rebels stumbled last week in a heavyweight loss to the Terrors and suddenly find themselves in a mid-season identity check. Josh Allen, Christian McCaffrey, and A.J. Brown headline one of the most star-studded lineups in the league, but the Mudhawx are coming in hot after a 264-point eruption. Jaxson Dart, Brock Bowers, and Marvin Harrison Jr. have this team believing again — and they’d love nothing more than to knock off one of the league’s royalty.
QB: Allen vs Dart → Edge: Rebels
RBs: McCaffrey, Jacobs, Achane vs Marks, Vidal, Wright → Edge: Rebels
WRs: Brown, Gadsden vs Harrison Jr., Horn Jr. → Edge: Mudhawx (slight)
TE: LaPorta vs Bowers → Edge: Even
K: Boswell vs Gay → Edge: Rebels
DEF/ST: Lions vs Vikings → Edge: Rebels
The Bottom Line: The Mudhawx have swagger, but the Rebels have horsepower. Expect fireworks, but McCaffrey steadies the ship.
Prediction: Rebels 232 – Mudhawx 181
When Jonathan Taylor scores three touchdowns, you’re officially on notice. The Terrors are red-hot after last week’s statement win and are charging toward the top of the Tomlinson Conference. The Bombers, meanwhile, looked lifeless in their stumble versus the Yinzers. Geno Smith must bounce back in a big way — but facing Taylor, Henry, and Davante Adams in full stride might be too tall a task.
QB: Smith vs Darnold → Edge: Terrors
RBs: Barkley, Gibbs vs Taylor, Henry, Swift → Edge: Terrors (big)
WRs: Jefferson, Waddle, Samuel vs Adams, Doubs → Edge: Bombers
TE: Higbee vs Kittle → Edge: Terrors
K: McLaughlin vs Badgley → Edge: Even
DEF/ST: Seahawks vs Buccaneers → Edge: Terrors
The Bottom Line: Brian Lake’s crew needs an offensive surge, but Tony Martella’s Terrors are humming. Taylor dominates again.
Prediction: Terrors 256 – Bombers 182
The BadM’fers have lived on a rollercoaster all season — one week dominant, the next in disarray. The Condors, despite a losing record, have been a tough out, leaning on rookie QB J.J. McCarthy and TE Tyler Warren. Keenan Allen and Stefon Diggs headline a star-powered receiving corps for the M’fers, and they’ll need every bit of that firepower to keep playoff hopes burning.
QB: Maye vs McCarthy → Edge: BadM’fers
RBs: Demercado vs Warren → Edge: Condors
WRs: Allen, Diggs, Downs vs Burden, Flowers → Edge: BadM’fers
TE: Fannin Jr. vs Warren → Edge: Condors
K: Myers vs Loop → Edge: Even
DEF/ST: Patriots vs Saints → Edge: BadM’fers
The Bottom Line: Both teams are desperate, but Brad Robison’s squad has the experience edge. Expect a grind-it-out, mid-200s slugfest.
Prediction: BadM’fers 191 – Condors 176
The MadDawgz are rolling. Moose Miller’s lineup, led by Jared Goff, DeVonta Smith, and the Broncos D/ST, has become a weekly nightmare for opponents. The Bulls counter with Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua, but after back-to-back rough weeks, they’re trending downward. Ashton Jeanty and Judkins will need career days to keep this competitive.
QB: Stafford vs Goff → Edge: Even
RBs: Jeanty, Judkins vs Harvey, Jones, Dowdle → Edge: Dawgz
WRs: Nacua, Collins, Tucker vs Smith, JSN → Edge: Dawgz
TE: Washington vs Musgrave → Edge: Dawgz
K: Santos vs Ryland → Edge: Even
DEF/ST: Chargers vs Broncos → Edge: Dawgz
The Bottom Line: Momentum, balance, and chemistry — the Dawgz have it all. Bulls are overmatched.
Prediction: MadDawgz 244 – Bulls 167
After an uneven first half, both teams stand at a crossroads. The Atoms need a win to stay alive, but the Yinzers — fresh off a 166-point victory — have found rhythm with Jordan Love and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Justin Herbert and Kyren Williams can keep this close, but Buffalo’s D/ST and Rachaad White may tip the scales toward the Yinz.
QB: Herbert vs Love → Edge: Yinzers (slight)
RBs: Williams, Hill vs White, Monangai → Edge: Atoms
WRs: Addison, Coleman, Golden vs St. Brown, Meyers → Edge: Even
TE: Pitts vs Njoku → Edge: Even
K: Dicker vs Pineiro → Edge: Yinzers
DEF/ST: Cardinals vs Bills → Edge: Yinzers
The Bottom Line: Expect fireworks. Love and Amon-Ra stay hot to edge out Herbert in a thriller.
Prediction: Yinzers 207 – Atoms 192
Josh Blake’s Believers finally woke up in Week 9, blasting the Condors behind Lamar Jackson’s wizardry and Drake London’s breakout. The Juggernauts, led by Michael Penix Jr. and James Cook, remain better than their record suggests. Still, the Believers’ tight-end trio of Kincaid, Likely, and Loveland gives them matchup headaches in all the right places.
QB: Jackson vs Penix → Edge: Believers
RBs: Hall vs Cook → Edge: Even
WRs: London, McConkey vs Pittman, Franklin → Edge: Juggernauts (slight)
TE: Kincaid vs Andrews → Edge: Juggernauts
K: Elliott vs Fitzgerald → Edge: Even
DEF/ST: Falcons vs Eagles → Edge: Juggernauts
The Bottom Line: Two teams playing for pride — but Lamar’s dual-threat brilliance gives the Believers an emotional win.
Prediction: Believers 214 – Juggernauts 198
Here come the heavyweights. The 7-2 Lions are in cruise control atop the Holmes Division, while the Jackrabbits cling to playoff hope by a thread. Baker Mayfield continues to shine in Logan Blake’s system, feeding Rome Odunze and Chris Olave, while Bijan Robinson has quietly turned into the league’s most consistent RB. Jalen Hurts leads the Jacks, who’ll need an all-time performance from Emeka Egbuka and the Colts D/ST to hang around.
QB: Hurts vs Mayfield → Edge: Jackrabbits
RBs: Dobbins vs Bijan, Montgomery → Edge: Lions
WRs: Egbuka, Moore, Robinson vs Odunze, Olave → Edge: Lions
TE: Ertz vs McBride → Edge: Lions
K: Prater vs Fairbairn → Edge: Lions
DEF/ST: Colts vs Texans → Edge: Even
The Bottom Line: The Lions’ offense hums too smoothly to be stopped. The Jackrabbits’ scrappiness keeps it close early, but Bijan and Baker slam the door late.
Prediction: Lions 241 – Jackrabbits 187
Lions look to clinch a postseason berth with an eighth win.
MadDawgz could join them if the results break right.
Terrors are officially the league’s hottest team — three straight wins in sight.
Rebels fighting to maintain top-seed momentum.
Atoms, BadM’fers, and Mudhawx all teeter on the edge of elimination.
