Cam closing in on a rare playoff birth
Lets right into what we have going on with our two divisions and the playoff races currently underway. We are now just sitting with most teams just having 5 games left in the regular season, and each game really mattering. In the Kelly Championship Division, Brew Crew is looking solid as not only making the playoffs, but claiming the number one seed in the division. Les's team is 16-5 and 2 games clear of the 85 Bears for the division lead. Big Les can wrap up a playoff spot this week with two wins and a Caveman loss, or a win and two Caveman loses. Kelly Robbins has now made a habit of late season pushes, and this year is no exception. Our defending champions 85 Bears have moved into second place for the first time this year with a 14-7 record. Kelly has a full game lead over the 4th place team for a playoff spot. Jamodaddy has been in playoff position all year. Cam's team has been historically a team stuck around the 11 to 13 win mark each year. This year he sits with a 13-7 record with 5 games to go. He sits one game in from of Captain Caveman. Travis Tylers team has also had a second half resurgance to now sit at 12-8 and one game out of a playoff spot. Then Suckaditka and Cheeseheads are both at .500 at 10-10. Both ladies sit 3 games out with 5 to go. Both can ill afford any more losses. Sadly Molsack, Wang & Tang and Farm Cats are playing for lottery positioning.
In the Big Penix Division, its still wide open, with more teams fighting for playoff contention. Spankyz is once again looking to advance to the playoffs, and right now is the number one seed at 14-6. He has a one game lead over Injured Reserves. Mike Peters has been jockying with Spankyz lately as the two teams have flip-flopped in and out of the first place position. Mikey is one game back at 13-7. The log jam comes with the third and last automatic playoff berth. Right now its tied between JH Express and Big Dart in my Penix who are both 11-9, Dane and Johnny are battling it out, but right behind them sits the Fish Ticklers who at 10-10 are one game back. Also in the thick of it, is the A-Dawgs, they are 10-11 and a game and half back and still very much alive. Young rookie Matt Shears and his We've Got The Juice squad had a set back last week, losing both games to drop to 9-11, now 2 games out of a playoff spot and needing some wins this week. The Sea-Chickens with their two wins last week, keep their slim playoff hopes alive at 7-13. They are 4 back with 5 to play and really need to win out and get lots of help. The Norm Buds got off the deck to win 2 games last week to move his record to 6-15 and 5 1/2 games out of a playoff spot.
Trading deadline is rapidly approaching. Thanksgiving day!! We did have a trade last week between Spankyz and We've Got The Juice. Not a huge one, but Spank got Devonta Smith to help shore up his wide receiver core. While Matt got some much needed tight end help with Dallas Goedard and also Jordan Addison.
