Week 5 MVP
Week 5 brought fireworks across the league, with multiple teams putting up monster scores and several matchups turning into high-scoring shootouts. Detroit Football Dream stayed perfect at 5-0, while Diesel 44 Express and Silent But Deadly both kept pace near the top with strong wins. Holden's Heros finally broke through for their first victory in dominant fashion, and Green Machine picked up a crucial win to avoid falling further behind. With bye weeks now in full swing, roster depth will start to matter more than ever as contenders look to separate themselves from the pack.
1. Silent But Deadly--40.0. Silent But Deadly continued their strong run with another balanced offensive attack. Christian McCaffrey led the way with 139 total yards and a receiving touchdown, while Emeka Egbuka exploded for 163 yards and a score in his best game of the year. Garrett Wilson and Travis Kelce both found the end zone, and Kyler Murray added a rushing touchdown to keep the floor high. The Detroit D/ST came through with three interceptions to help seal the win. At 4-1, Silent But Deadly is looking like a serious contender near the top of the standings.
2. Diesel 44 Express--38.3. Diesel 44 Express exploded for their highest total since Week 2. Jonathan Taylor stole the show with 3 rushing TDs and over 30 fantasy points, while Ja'Marr Chase delivered 110 yards and 2 scores. Puka Nacua remained a machine with another TD and 10 receptions, and both tight ends Ferguson and Warren combined for 38 fantasy points, each finding the end zone. Wentz and Rattler were steady at QB, Achane added a receiving TD, and even with a quiet defensive day, the rest of the lineup was unstoppable.
3. 4th N Long--23.9. 4th N Long put together one of their most balanced performances of the season. Josh Allen contributed through the air and on the ground, while Saquon Barkley made the most of limited touches with a receiving TD. Stefon Diggs led the way with 146 yards, LaPorta added 92 and a score, and the WR trio of Collins, Flowers, and McConkey all found the end zone or topped double digits. Even with the Seahawks defense going negative, the offense's depth was too much, pushing 4th N Long above .500.
4. Holden's Heroes--23.0. Holden's Heros finally broke through with a massive performance across the board. Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff combined for six touchdowns and nearly 650 passing yards, setting the tone early. Kyren Williams exploded for 131 total yards and two receiving scores, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba posted his best game of the year with 132 yards and a TD. DeVonta Smith was his usual reliable self, and even Jordan Addison found the end zone. With Mason Taylor adding nearly 18 from the tight end spot, this was a complete offensive eruption that earned Holden's Heros their first win of the season in style.
5. Lawrence Lions--22.8. Lawrence Lions put together one of their strongest offensive outings of the season, but it wasn't enough to keep pace. Jake Browning and Tua Tagovailoa combined for six passing touchdowns, and both Dobbins and Jeanty delivered solid rushing performances. Justin Jefferson was electric with 123 yards, and Tetairoa McMillan chipped in another 73. Unfortunately, the defense stumbled, and Jerry Jeudy's quiet day didn't help. It was a promising offensive showing, but the Lions ran into a buzzsaw this week.
6. Green Machine--16.6. Green Machine actually got an excellent day from Baker Mayfield, who threw for 379 yards and two scores, and Jayden Daniels added solid dual-threat production. However, the running backs were a major letdown outside of Derrick Henry's short TD, and the Justice Hill/Kamara combo combined for just 21 yards on the ground. Pickens and Marvin Harrison Jr. chipped in modest receiving totals, but the lack of explosion outside of Mayfield's arm was glaring. At 1-4, Green Machine has talent but needs more consistency from its backfield to climb back into the playoff picture.
7. Detroit Football Dream--16.1 Detroit Football Dream kept their undefeated season rolling with an absolute statement win. Dak Prescott and Sam Darnold combined for eight passing touchdowns, racking up 64 fantasy points between them. Javonte Williams powered through for 135 rushing yards and two total TDs, while Montgomery and Rachaad White added three more scores on the ground. Sutton just missed the century mark, Keon Coleman and Jake Tonges both found the end zone, and the Texans D/ST delivered a 17-point performance with three interceptions. Every level of the lineup clicked this was the most dominant showing of the week and firmly cemented Detroit Football Dream at the top of the standings.
8. BOB'S TEAM--15.8. BOB'S TEAM ran into a buzzsaw this week. Mahomes accounted for two total TDs and nearly 33 fantasy points, but Geno Smith struggled with two interceptions. Davante Adams and Kupp both topped 50 yards, and Tyquan Thornton had a surprise 90-yard day, but the RB group was nearly invisible, combining for just 15.6 points across three players. With Tommy Tremble disappearing at tight end, there wasn't enough firepower to keep up with Diesel 44's offensive onslaught.
9. A God Amon Men--14.1. A God Amon Men put up a solid fight but ultimately fell short in a high-scoring battle. Justin Fields kept the team afloat with over 300 total yards and two passing scores, while Breece Hall racked up 155 total yards despite a fumble. Cam Skattebo and Omarion Hampton added useful production as complementary backs, and Amon-Ra St. Brown crossed the 100-yard mark yet again. Pittman and Brian Thomas Jr. chipped in double digits, and the Denver defense got to the QB six times. It was a good all-around effort, but not quite enough to topple one of the league's hottest teams.
10. Big Johnson--8.5. Big Johnson showed signs of life but fell just short again. Hurts and Daniel Jones combined for 41 fantasy points, Waddle finally broke out with 110 yards and a TD, and Darren Waller posted his best game of the season. Rookie backs Gibbs and Judkins both topped 80 total yards and scored, keeping the team competitive throughout. But the lack of impact from Meyers and Woody Marks, plus a middle-of-the-pack defensive showing, left Big Johnson just shy of the upset.
Week 5 MVP: Sam Darnold--34.05 points.
