Darren flounders, Mahomes continues to underwhelm

WEEK 3 IN REVIEW: Steve breaks into the win column in a big way with an 81 - 48 win over Darren. Steve has 5 guys in double figures as he picks up the week 3 high score. The highlight for Darren, who falls to 0 - 3, was watching Derrick Henry wipe out while trying to smash his helmet on the bench after losing a fumble....Charlie survives his 1st week without Joe Burrow and remains unbeaten after downing Tim 72 - 67. Once again, RBs Taylor and Cook pick up the slack for 3 - 0 Charlie. Tim got 27 from the Vikings D, but left 66 points on his bench as he falls to 1 - 2....With Purdy and Daniels both hurt, Jay was forced to go with Michael Penis who didn't do dick. Oh, wait a minute, that's supposed to be Penix, but he still didn't do dick (1 point) as Jay loses to Nate 63 - 40. Not that it would have mattered, but David Montgomery (more on him later) had 151 yards and 2 TDs on Jay's bench. Both teams are now 2 - 1....The Commish was the recipient of a miracle at Met Life Stadium as he somehow hung on to beat Scott 65 - 63. Heading into the Sunday night game in NY, I was done with 65 points and my win probability was at 4%. Scott was at 62, but still had Kelce and Malik Nabers to play. The Chiefs totally shut down Nabers and Kelce was not very involved either and I came away with an unlikely win....Troy remains winless after dropping a 66 - 30 decision to Hack. 14 of the 18 players on Troy's roster had 4 points or less, including a 1 by Barkley and a -3 by the Ravens D. For Hack, Dick's brother Jalen Hurts almost won the game singlehandedly with 4 TDs and 28 points....And from the "It's all about the match-ups" department, Ryan came within 29 seconds of his 1st S.F.L. win. There was only 2 teams that Doc could have beat this week, and of course he played one of them and beat Ryan 38 - 36. Ryan took a 36 - 14 lead into Monday night and it looked like he was about to pull off an upset. And then Montgomery got the ball. He could have taken a knee after gaining a 1st down and the the Lions could have run out the clock without the Ravens getting the ball back. But NO, he gets greedy and sprints into the endzone for a TD, leaving 1:42 on the clock. Plenty of time for Lamar to go down the field for a garbage time TD with 0:29 left on the clock to give Doc a 2 point win.....ELSEWHERE: In the Survivor Pool, Steve is now out, joining Tim. Kevin, Troy and Scott all pick up their 1st strike and the other 7 are still unscathed. And in the Pick'ems, Troy salvages something as he wins the week with a 12 - 4 mark with the tie-breaker.
