Week 5 is in the books. This is the part of the season where depth really shows on each team. Between injuries and bye weeks, it may be hard to field a winning team. The teams that have the best depth on their roster will win through these dog days of football.
Fire the Cannons! Vs Red Bird Gang
Cannons loses another one and is off to his worst start in his fantasy career. He is about to fall to second on the all-time win/loss record. He did have the high scoring Stafford set the tone early with a nice Thursday win. However, the high non-QB scorer was a TE, which is not the most effective way to win. A couple of injuries and bye weeks gave him no help from the bench. Red Brid gets up to .500 with a solid above-average score this week. Nothing stands out as exceptional; it's just a lot of people getting it done.
Pregnant? Try Tee-lenol Vs The Diamond Dogs
Really nice score by Tee-lenol, but it falls short sadly. The team performed very well, across the board, led by Fields, and delivered solid games from the entire squad. Diamond Dogs just was better. Taylor has been on a tear this year. He leads the league in yards and touchdowns by a running back. McCaffrey is playing well and got Rashaad White off the waiver wire while Bucky is out at least one more week. Maybe more if Rachaad is playing well.
You can do it Vs Participatory Trophies Only
You can do it coming up big. Scoring 163 and the win to get back to .500. Tua had his best game so far this year, and Dowdle was almost the top scorer this week. I believe the Panthers suck, though, so I don't think I'd count on him. The most impressive thing is that there were no bench players active, meaning injuries and bye weeks hit hard this week, and you still managed to get the win. Trophies had his worst week since the season opener. Dak on the bench could have helped, but you didn't have the points to win, even with the optimal lineup. I think Kyler is not good. I'm not sure, though. Maybe we should ask Brody.
The Big Lavontski Vs Johnny Utah
I have yet to score over 123. My team just isn't that good. I have the pieces, but I don't know what's going on. Why Baltimore sucks and doesn't run Henry is beyond me. Tampa's Defense was atrocious and cost me points. LaPorta had his first good game of the year. I need something, I don't know what. Johnny Utah, on the other hand, got an easy win. His team played well. Croskey-Merritt may be a starter from now on, now that he is catching a few passes. Javonte Williams is looking good for the Cowboys, too. This team is currently at .500, but I expect them to continue trending upward.
Trade Kyler Murray Vs My Ball Zach Ertz
Trade Kyler had a decent enough week. He would have beaten half the league this week with that score. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a real one—nice pickup on Michael Carter. The receivers are all in the top 12 and appear to be looking strong. My Ball had three guys score in the 30s for the high score of the week. It hurts me that you got Egbuka in the 12th round and doubled up with Baker. That will be a valuable asset in the future. Chase had his first good game without Burrow, and maybe that can continue. He was the leading tackler for the Bengals mid-way through the 3rd quarter, though.
As always, make your moves for free agents; you never know who the next big thing is.
