Week 2 is over, and we don't really have a clear idea about which teams are good or not. It feels like most of the players are inconsistent. I feel like only a couple of players at each position have been consistent throughout the two weeks. However, it's been two weeks, so maybe I'll slow down a bit. Let's go over the matchups.
AAA vs DDogs - Neither team was particularly strong. One was just worse this week. Smith-Njigba is one of the few players to be good both weeks. Tyler Warrren may be a candidate for the best pick in the draft. On the other side, McCaffery looks good despite scaring the willies out of all fantasy owners, as well as McBride. The Broncos came back down to earth after their 40-point game last week, going negative. Keenan Allen looks good, too.
Utah vs Do It - This was the closest game this week. Amon-Ra led all fantasy scorers this week in a losing effort for Johnny Utah. Allen wasn't great. Two weeks in a row for excellent RB production. This is a strength. Goff on the bench hurts, but I don't think anyone would have started him over Allen. Perricone got Bijan, Nabers, and Dallas kicker for the win. Cheetah showed up, and you lost Joe Burrow for 3 months. That feels like you lost while winning.
Lavontski vs Ertz - What a goose egg for me. Henry got stuffed. Jenty too. All six receivers did nothing. TE nothing. Defense was ok, and I think I lost Daniels for a week or more. Ertz had some good things and thus won the game. Baker is baking, and Chase has a huge bounce-back week. Can he carry the Bengals? The Patriots are good on defense, and Ertz had lots of good things on the bench.
Cannons vs Trophies - High scorer of the week with Jacob. Achane, Irving, Etienne, and Cook all played great. That is four good running backs. Lamp, Puka, and Dak were good. 174 is good. Move to 1-1. Cannons left some points on the bench in Odunze, but it wouldn't matter. Just a down week all around. Twenty points from three receivers and another 20 points from both running backs. This is not the way.
Red Bird vs. Hot Browns - Red Bird wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. This is a nice game; there are just no players jumping off and grabbing the win. The Hot Browns got the first W with a good game out of a few players. Devante is still proving he can do it, TE keeper Tucker Craft had a big game, and the Ravens' defense was tough after last week's fiasco. Also, there are a few good options on the bench.
