Great job as Full house drafts in 32nd year of RBL
Well, well, well... here we go again with everyone tied for 1st place and just 18 weeks away from a championship.
Big shout out and wonderful job hosting the draft to Jerry Villanueva (TWISTED INDIVIDUALS) and his wife plus all the owners bringing drinks, extra snacks and fun competitive vibes!
At the end of every draft we check with the jinx machine known as the professional prognosticators "Fantasy Alarm" and "Fantasy Pros" to see who they think will finish on top based on the RBL Draft.
Unlike last year when they both predicted the same top two teams #1 PANTHERS and #2 OVO JOSHY (who both squeaked into the newly 12 team playoff format and were bounced in the first round)... these two prediction experts have yet to be close, but that's why we play the games cuz maybe this is the year one of them is right! Right? Right.
With that said... the two prognostication services are split at who will finish #1 with Fantasy Alarm picking the PANTHERS and Fantasy Pros picking NINERS, but they both agreed on #2 TWISTED INDIVIDUALS and #3 EL CASTIGADOR. So take that with a grain of salt, as the other 12 teams celebrate not being on the RBL cover this year!! Humph. But of course, the jinx could be broken this time, right? It's been wrong for about 15+ years, but even a broken non-digital clock is right twice a day (Gen Z, you can Google what that kind of clock is... never mind the hands won't make sense to you... I think you might confuse the sound it makes with... it's on tik tok?).
But I digress... the always reliable post draft RBL power poll has DARK SIDE #1, followed by journeyman team EL CASTIGADOR and playoff machine MUNGRAGS at #2 and #3, respectively. Not sure if that's ever right since this is the first time I've checked it this early. But I do use it as my ranking guide throughout the season. It can be found under the "League" link. Explore the menu... lots of cool stuff to see.
The only rule update is missed field goals will all have a negative value, so no more free 50+ misses. 45 yards and below are -2, but now 46 yard misses and above are -1... the missed extra point stays the same at -1 also. You can always check the scoring under "League", then "Rules" on the menu.
The playoff format will remain the same with twelve teams qualifying, but there is a change in seeding... the Division Champions will be seeded in the top 3 spots with a bye as well as the top wildcard team at #4. We will use the college format this year where #4 will play the winner of #5 vs #12, #3 will play the winner of #6 vs #11, #2 will play the winner of #7 vs #10 and #1 will play winner of #8 vs #9 game. Conference finals will be from the winners of #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 games.
Good luck this season and as always I appreciate you all... for without you, there would be no RBL.
Let's go!! Season 32 starts now!!
