Inside the LFFL Week 4 Results

Week 4 features high scoring and some close games.  Boomer & Bunker wins their first game and continues to be the highest scoring team.  Men of Steel posts the highest score in the league so far.  Carpetbaggers win to go 3-1 but lose a first round pick WR.

  • Big City Carpetbaggers (3-1) 105.08 Power Pugs (2-2) 73.46:  Terry cruises to a win behind last minute Sunday morning add Kenneth Gainwell with 28.4 and Kyle Pitts is heard from with 15.5. My team puts up a miserable effort with Baker Mayfield's 19.86 the only lineup spot in double figures.
Gangus Cons (2-2) 133.7 Art Donovan U 129.48 (1-3) :  Ron posts his score and hangs on for the win behind Patrick Mahomes with 27.3, Romeo Doubs scores 26.8, Travis Etienne is consistent with 19 and Deebo Samuel contributes 17.1.  Gary eceives a 33.5 point coming out party for Ashton Jeanty, Drake London scores 21 and Marvin Harrison Jr.  manages to hang on to enough balls for 15.6.  The Broncos D/ST scores 13 but falls short on MNF.
Butt Kickers (3-1) 105.9 Rolling Thunder (2-2) 98.48: Bucky Irving leads the way with 24 for Bob with Jalen Hurts scoring 19.4 without a tush push and Courtland Sutton adds in 16.6 on MNF. Denny comes close with Amon Ra-St Brown's 22.5, James Cook adds 21 and Javonte Williams adds in 17.5.
EZ Dubs (2-2) 109.18 KELLSKRUSHERZ (1-3) 68.34: Justin returns to sea level with Jordan Love's 27.28 and Bijan Robinson's 26.1 and the Lions D/ST scores 21. Bo Nix is the only double figures scorer for Kelly with 26.74.
Trash Talking Mimes (3-1) 124.46 Blame the Refs (2-2) 115.84:  Josh Allen again leads the way with 25.86 for the Mimes, Quentin Johnson continues his breakout season with 19.8 and Saquon Barkley is good for 15.4.  Rob drops one despite Justin Fields big game on MNF with 28.14 and Devon Achane scores 16.6.
Boomer & Bunker (1-3) 137.3 Password is Taco (1-3): Boomer finally wins his first game in a big way with Josh Jacobs scoring 29.7 and Puka Nacua scoring 29.5 with Emeka Egbuka adds 18.1 and the Texans D/ST is good for 15. Matt drops his third despite Drake Maye's 23.22, Justin Jefferson scores 17.6 in Dublin, Garrett Wilson has 17.2 on MNF and Tyler Warren has 15.8 .
Men of Steel (3-1) 140.82 Chaka Khan (2-2) 115.46:  Ed scores the top total in the league so  far behind Omarion Hampton's 25 point breakout. Christian McCaffrey has 23.1 but George Pickens leads the scoring with 29.4. Jason is led by DK Metcalf's 21.2 on Sunday morning in Dublin and Jahmyr Gibbs adds 16.7.
Week 4 Player of the week: Josh Jacobs 29.7 for B&B. Ashton Jeanty was leading scorer for ADU with 33.5
Week 4 bench players of the week:Matt Stafford ADU 27.4 , Justice Hill RT 26.2
NFL Picks: Denny goes 12-4, four games clear of everyone.  Erik continues to lead by 1 over Denny.
Potent Notables:  The league has four teams at 3-1 and four at 1-3 with 6 right in the middle at 2-2.  Injuries rear their ugly head once again with Malik Nabors of BCC going down with a season ending ACL knee injury and Tyreek Hill of CK suffering what looks like a long term knee injury on MNF .  Hill's injury will shut down trade talk of him coming to Pittsbugh or anywhere else.  Week 5 starts the dreaded bye weeks with the Steelers, Falcons, Packers and Bears out of play. Week 4 was a big week for rookie RB's.  Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton broke out.  Woody Marks had a big week for Houston, Quinshon Judkins is the #1 guy in Cleveland and RJ Harvey was heard from last night in Denver. Meanwhile the Steelers Kaleb Johnson has yet to break out.
Speaking of the Steelers: they win over the Vikings in week 4 in Dublin ,Ireland and head into the bye week with a 3-1 record.  The first quarter of the season has been a little rough on the edges but successful .  Aaron Rodgers has been the best Steeler QB since Big Ben.  No wide receiver has really stepped up into the #2 role.  The defense has been up and down.  Great at turnovers  but lacking in third down success.
The Sunday night game between Green Bay and Dallas ended in a 40-40 tie which left everyone unsatisfied.  In that regard I've come up with new overtime rules for the NFL to avoid ties and make OT more strategic and exciting.  Here we go:
First team to get the ball: If they score a TD, the game does not end until they convert a two point conversion.  They can kick an extra point but then must kick off to the other team.  The other team then must go for two if they score a TD if behind by 7. If behind by 6 they must score a TD but can kick the extra point for the win.  No playing for a tie.
If the first team to get a possession scores a FG, then the other team must score a TD in their possession to win but they get the ball first and 10 at midfield.
If the first team to possess the ball does not score then the game continues with first score wins.
Defensive score in first possession, game over.
    Just my two cents!
