LFFL Week 5 Results

Week 5 features 4 very close games decided by 3 points or less.  The only 4-1 team is the Carpetbaggers who win a close low scoring game over Butt Kickers.

  • Power Pugs (3-2) 98.06 KELLZKRUSHERZ (1-4) 95.88 :  Kelly was leading by about 15 points going into SNF after Ja'Marr Chase came alive in the Bengals offense with 26, Bo Nix has 16.88 and David Njoku scores 15.7.  I would have had an extra 7 points if late week add Emari Demercado could take one more step before starting his TD celebration! Keon Coleman scored 9.3 on SNF leaving me needing 6 points from K Cam Little on MNF.  Little pulled through with a fourth quarter 52 yd FG and ended up with 8.  Baker Mayfield was my leader with 25.66.
Rolling Thunder (3-2) 108.18 Art Donovan U (1-4) 87.56: Denny gets a big day from Javonte williams with 26.4 ,Danny Dimes 'Indiana Jones'  is good for 16.88 and Ka'imi Fairbairn kicks for 16. Matt Stafford led the way for Gary on TNF with 26.56.
Big City Carpetbaggers (4-1) 74.84 Butt Kickers (3-2) 71.9: Jake Browning finally finds his weapons with 22.14 and Stefon Diggs scores 19.6.  Jalen Hurts is the BK leader with 19.5
Boomer & Bunker (2-3) 123.14 Trash Talking Mimes (3-2) 122.92: Boomer remains the league's top scoring team led by Emeka Egbuka with 27.8, Puka Nacua is good for 19.5 and Jayden Daniels returns with 17.14.  Erik and Bill fall just short led by Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 23.2, Josh Allen has 21.42, Sam LaPorta has a nice week with 17.7 and Saquon Barkley puts up 16.3. The Jags D/ST falls one sack short on MNF.
Gangus Cons (3-2) 119.62 Men of Steel (3-2) 99.02:  Ron cruises to his third win with Patrick Mahomes leading the way on MNF with 27.72. Deebo Samuel invades LA with 19.6, Breece Hall scores 16.5 and Travis Kelce waved his magic wand for 15.6.  Ed drops his second despite 23.9 from Run CMC and 21.32 by Jared Goff.
EZ Dubs (3-2) 109.2 Password is Taco (1-4) 106.62: Justin squeaks one out behind 28.28 by Dak Prescott, 20 from Jalen Waddle, 19.72 by David Montgomery and 15.8 by Michael Carter.  Matt started out well with Kyren Williams 28.1 on TNF, Garrett Wilson scored 16.1, Justin Jefferson adds 15.8. Montgomery threw for a TD which is still worth 6 points for a position player, a rule that's been active in this league since its inception in 1990?
Blame the Refs (3-2) 138.02 Chaka Khan (2-3) 113.94: Rob has high points for the week and POTW with Jonathan Taylor scoring 30.1, the only player to score above 30, Justin fields has 23.92 and Rachaad White produces 21.1.  Jason drops a tough one led by Trevor Lawrence iwth 28.24on MNF, 20.8 by AJ Barner, 20.4 from Jake Ferguson and 15.7 by Jahmyr Gibbs.
Week 5 Player of the week : Jonathan Taylor
  • with 30.1 for BTR
Week 5 Bench POTW: Jacory Croskey-Merritt of TTM with 27.
NFL Picks: Denny tops the weekly at 10-4 and the standings by 2.
Potent Notables: The bye weeks have started and I see some new names in lineups.  This week the Vikings and Texans are off.  I searched the waiver wire last week and came up with the now infamous Emari Demercado. Inserted him in my starting lineup.  He only touched the ball twice. His second carry saw him bust loose for what looked like a 71 yd TD.  But for some reason players don't seem to want the football on them when they celebrate.  The celebration started too soon, costing my team 6pts for a TD and 1 subtracted for a fumble.
The injuries continue with Omarion Hampton sidelined on IR for a while.  Chuba Hubbard missed last week too.
