Inside the LFFL Week 2 Results
After the dust settled there was only one unbeaten team at 2-0. The Carpetbaggers win again to continue their rebound from the disastrous 2024 season. One unbeaten team always has a flip side. That would be Boomer & Bunker at 0-2. B&B is also the most unlucky team in the league. They are the #2 scoring team in the league and have somehow come up short the first two weeks. Every other team in the league is now 1-1.
- Power Pugs (1-1) 102.9 Butt Kickers (1-1) 83.14: My team wins their first game. This all started with a TE match up on TNF with PP's Tucker Kraft outscoring BK's Zach Ertz 21.4-15.4. After the Sunday games BK held a narrow lead. But on MNF Bucky Irving scored 15.1 for BK but they couldn't hold off Baker Mayfield's 19.9 and Nico Collins with an early TD and 12.7. Chuba Hubbard also added in 16.2 for PP.
- KELLZKRUSHERZ (1-1) 118.54 Art Donovan U (1-1) 52.5: Kelly cruises to her first league win behind Ja'Marr Chase with 29.5, Bo Nix throw and runs for 21.24 and the Chargers are good for 16 on late MNF. Ken Walker was the only highlight for ADU with 18.3.
Rolling Thunder (1-1) 129.34 Gangus Cons (1-1) 120.78: Denny evens his record behind Amon Ra St Brown with 34.7 , James Cook comes up big with 26 and Javonte Williams has another big week with 22. Gangus Cons is the league's top scoring team with balanced scoring led by Patrick Mahomes returning to the mainland with 23.08. Brandon Aubrey kicks for 18, Travis Etienne scores 15.9 and CeeDee Lamb scored 15.7.
Big City Carpetbaggers (1-1) 133.4 Boomer & Bunker (0-2) 111.5: Terry remains unbeaten behind Malik Nabors huge week with 33.2, Lamar Jackson scores 26.3, Davante Adams is good for 19.6 and Jaylen Warren is productive with 15.4. Puka Nacua leads the way for BB with 23.6. Jayden Daniels has 18.7 and J. K. Dobbins runs for 15.
EZ Dubs (1-1) 106.54 Trash Talking Mimes (1-1) 79.12 : Justin wins his first with Dak Prescott topping the scorers with 23.14, Bijan Robinson scores 18.3 on early MNF and Jaylen Waddle has 15.3. TTM was thrashed but Saquon Barkley still scored 16.4.
Chaka Khan (1-1) 105.04 Password is Taco (1-1) 81.9: Jason notches his first win with Trevor Lawrence scoring 21.24, Jamyr Gibbs runs for 17.9 and the Seahawks add in 16. Kyler Murray is the top scorer for PT with 15.
Men of Steel (1-1) 104.16 Blame the Refs (1-1) 103.28: Ed eeks out a win this week with Jared Goff throwing for 33.96, Christian McCaffrey has 19.7 and George Pickens scores 15.3 at his new home. Jonathan Taylor tops the scorers for Rob with 28.5 and Devon Achane adds in 22.2.
Week 2 Player of the week: Amon-Ra St Brown RT 34.2
Week 2 Bench Player of the week: Rome Odunze TTM 28.3
NFL Picks: Erik goes 11-5 for the second straight week padding his overall lead to 6 over Ron and Kelly.
Potent Notables: Injuries to QBs are piling up. The biggest most costly injury is Joe Burrow missing a potential 3 months with turf toe. Burrow is owned in this league by Denny. His backup QB is Geno Smith, so look for a move to be made there. It also affects Kelly's team with Ja'Marr Chase and Matt with Tee Higgins. Maybe even my team with Chase Brown. Other injuries are Brock Purdy of BTR, JJ McCarthy of MOS and Jayden Daniels B&B are likely to miss some time. Parity is the name of the game in this league with 12 of 14 teams at 1-1. Meanwhile the Steelers weaknesses were exposed by the Seahawks and Sam Darnold. Aaron Rodgers may regret signing here. Look for a move at WR to be made soon. Is that Tyreek Hill coming here? The need for another receiver is certainly obvious but the need for a cohesive offensive line to protect Rodgers is even bigger. The hope for the defense is to get some guys healthy. But this could be a long season.
