New Dawn Issue #519
The OSFL closed one chapter and opened a new one on its 30th anniversary.
The OSFL celebrated its 30th anniversary on Sunday and it really was a fantastic day. We got great weather, fantastic company and a smooth draft. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the absence of two “Day One” owners from there 30th anniversary draft. Ralph Olivieri and Vin Roc were both at the first draft in 1996 and this was the first time they weren’t at the draft. The Hammer has retired and we’ll leave it at that. He was a multi time champion and probably belongs on the OSFL Mount Rushmore of we had one. Vin Roc is the greatest character the OSFL has ever known and our first ever champion. Vin relinquished control of his team to his partner Alex Keion last season and then sold his franchise to Chris “Kon” Konturas this offseason and parted ways with the OSFL. About a month later, Vin came to terms with The Cowboys as an 11% owner. Unfortunately Vin Roc is dealing with a broken back and neck, among other ailments and was forced to miss his first OSFL draft. Both absences were one my mind yesterday. For all the pain, awkwardness and hope those thoughts brought, one thing was crystal clear, It is the end of an era and the dawn of a new one that brought several bright new, young faces to the OSFL. This was a conventional draft by any means. Last season only 5 RB’s went in the first round along with 7 WR’s. In 2024, only 3 teams went RB/RB and no teams wen’t RB/RB/RB. In 2024, only one team waited until round 4 to draft their first RB. 2025 was a completely different story, 7 RB’s and 5 WR’s were selected in round 1. Four teams went RB/RB, Two teams went RB/RB/RB and the Cowboys used their first 4 selections on RB’s, while 3 teams waited until at least the 4th round to draft their first RB and The Wolfpack waited until round 5 to take their first RB. I will break it all down next. The 2025 season has arrived. I want to wish all of you the best of luck, I think we can expect a wild and much different season than we have come to expect. Without further adieu, I present the 2025 OSFL Draft Day Report Cards:
Please remember this is one man’s perspective. Do not take offense.
1, Phriends of the Devil (Chris “Kon” Konturas/4th season, “Mr.” Jeff Renzi/Rookie and “Magic” Marc Moody/Rookie
Kon was part of the 2024 OSFL Championship Cowboys team, but parted ways during the offseason when Vin Roc sold his franchise to Kon. Kon originally brought in Jared “Jorilla” Stanzione, but he rubbed everyone in the league the wrong way and lasted 8 days in June. In his place, Kon Will have the sage and savvy advice of Mr Jeff Renzi and Magic Marc Moody to keep him grounded. These guys trade like mad men in their league, willing to move everyone and anyone. They’re going to attempt to bring that philosophy to the OSFL and part of me hopes they succeed because on some level. The OSFL is never going to be this free wheeling trade orgy Kon’s league is but maybe there’s an oasis in the trade desert the OSFL has become. POTD (Phriends of the Devil) decided to use the #1 overall pick on Jahmyr Gibbs. In my opinion, Gibbs is the best RB under 25 years old in the NFL. Gibbs and the Lions offense had multiple red flags coming into the 2025 season, including losing one of the best centers in the NFL, 3 time all-pro Frank Ragnow to retirement, losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and losing touches to David Montgomery. It’s hard not to believe that Gibbs hasn’t already overtaken Montgomery as the Lions starter. His touches should increase and his production was already off the charts. I love this pick. POTD became the first team to draft 3 consecutive RB’s since 2023 (The Roc & Roll Express). They followed up with Bucky Irving and rookie Omarion Hampton. I’m not a Bucky Irving fan. I think it’s going to be difficult for him to duplicate his 2024 season, but they did buy insurance on Bucky, selecting Rachaad White in round 11. Hampton was the second rookie RB drafted in the NFL and OSFL drafts. Hampton landed on the Chargers who want to run the ball, but they did also lose Pro Bowl left tackle Rashawn Slater for the season and at some point Najee Harris will return. Because POTD went heavy on RB, they don’t have legitimate WR1 on their roster heading into the season. DeVonta Smith missed 4 games in 2024, but still set a career high with 8 TD’s and finished strongly with two 100+ yard performances over his final 3 games. When healthy, Smith is a solid WR2. Selecting rookie Tetairoa McMillan in the 5th round, projected as their WR2 was reckless. They’re going to say, well look at Malik Nabors. The Giants have a history of developing good young receivers. The last WR the Panthers developed was DJ Moore in 2018, it’s been a wasteland since then and Bryce Young has failed to crack 2900 pass yards or 16 TD passes in a season while compiling a 6-22 record. Oh and they drafted that bum too as their primary QB back up in round 14. I liked the Ricky Pearsall pick in round 6. He showed flashed potential with a career high 8-141 and he scored in each of his final 2 games of 2024. Rookie Matthew Golden enters a crowded group of Packers receivers. 8th round pick Rome Odunze could be primed to make a leap in year two now that Keenan Allen has returned to LA. In round 9 and 12, POTD seemed to secure the Cowboys RB with the selections of Javonte Williams/Jaydon Blue. I have 0.0 faith in Javonte Williams but Jaydon Blue could turn into a late round steal or he could be nothing. Too early to tell. In round 10 they drafted their starting QB Kyler Murray who over his first 6 seasons has frustrated his owners, showing just enough to get you excited but not enough to help win games. It will take a career year, meaning his first 4000+ pass yard/30+ TD and a return to 750 rush yards/10 TD rush in order for this pick to matter. They totally punted TE, selecting Chig Okonkwo in round 13 and Seattle rookie Elijah Arroyo. The Seahawks haven’t had a relevant TE since the franchise was founded in 1976. Okonkwo finished as the 18th best TE in 2024 and 21st best TE in 2023. Late picks included Jalen McMillan who is on IR with a severely sprained neck and Russel Wilson who has the distinction of being Mr. Irrelevant for 2 years in a row. It’s a mixed bag. They came out of this draft thinking they crushed it and they did not. They’re solid at RB, but they have the worst TE’s in the OSFL, they’re below average at QB and after DeVonta Smith, WR is complete mystery. Kon takes a lot of credit for The Cowboys 2024 championship, but it seemed to me that The Cowboys rubbed off on him. POTD had more partners than The Cowboys did this year, which was a bit shocking because there have been times when the Cowboys have had so many partners they needed 2 tables. POTD were also the only team to draft 2 defenses, the only other team to do so were… The Cowboys. The 1 slot is not an easy place to draft a balanced team from. Kon thinks he threw the draft balance off by he and The Cowboys taking so many RB’s and maybe they did, I’ll give them that, but because they altered what teams expected, doesn’t necessarily mean they had a great draft. By one teams account (The Wolfpack, specifically the commissioner Dino Lancia IV), it was amateur hour. They would make a pick and get up and dance like they won the Super Bowl. I had to explain to Dino that POTD comes from a league that is like the Wild, Wild West. The OSFL don’t play like that. We did in season 1 in 1996, but we don’t anymore. Kon and his Diablo’s are going to do what they do, or at least attempt to inject that wild card type of strategy into the OSFL. I’m intrigued to see if it works. Possibilities abound here but this is looking more like a one trick pony (Gibbs) than a powerhouse…. C
2. Dynamic Duo (Stephen Manfredo/30th season & Mike Celletti/30th season)
This wasn’t only a star studded affair for Dynamic Duo, it was psychological warfare from jump street. We were ecstatic that we were able to get Ja’Marr Chase with the second overall pick. What we didn’t realize is that our pick would affect what Showtime would do in round 2. There isn’t a soul on the planet that can tell me that our selection of Chase didn’t factor into Showtime’s decision to make Joe Burrow the first overall QB selection. Mike and I had no discussions about taking Burrow in round 2 or 3 and he was never in consideration as our top QB. We drafted the #1 QB on our board… NFL MVP Josh Allen. In between Chase and Allen, the top ranked WR and QB, we selected another WR1 in AJ Brown, who although he missed 4 games, still logged his 5th 1000+ yard/7+ TD season and tied for the league lead with 5 - 100 yard games. We didn’t draft our first RB until round 4, taking the ever steady James Conner. We would’ve like to handcuff him with Trey Benson, but we weren’t going to overpay because he showed very little last season. In round 5 we took D’Andre Swift who is the primary back on a Chicago offense looking to make a leap in 2025. In round 6 we took TE TJ Hockenson who might the only truly healthy and available receiver to start the 2025 season for the Minnesota Vikings. In round 7 we took our first calculated chance with Washington rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt aka Bill. The Redskins and yes, Washington will always be the Redskins to me… traded Brian Robinson Jr to the 49ers (who Dynamic Duo also drafted in round 9), opening the door for a lot of playing time for JCM. Robinson compiled between 207-214 touches all 3 years in Washington. JCM was one of 4 rookie RB’s Duo drafted, including Dylan Sampson, Tahj Brooks and Devin Neal. We need one of them to hit. Michael Pittman is 2 years removed from a 100+ catch season. He’s being asked to be a WR3 in this offense. Caleb Williams is our 11th round back up. In the history of the NFL, Williams threw the least (6) interceptions by any rookie throwing 500+ passes. Caleb Williams is a vastly underrated quarterback. Dynamic Duo started 2 QB runs in this draft. Showtime took the first QB in round 2, but in round when we selected Josh Allen, 4 more QB’s were selected over the next 12 picks. In the 11th, I told Mike we would start a QB run when we grabbed Williams. 6 of the next 13 picks were QB’s, for a total of 10 QB’s selected after we took our QB’s. In the 12th we selected Jonnu Smith as a backup TE. In the 13th it was Joshua Palmer who will step into a starting role for the Bills. We took both Saquon Barkley’s and Christian McCaffrey’s backups. I have no faith in CMC making it through a full season and the history of 2000 yard rushers (Barkley) the next season is not good. 30% of this roster is built on rookie and back up RB’s in very good spots. We need one of them to hit. Roman Wilson will start in the slot for the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers loves throwing to the slot. For the first time in a while we didn’t handcuff any of our RB’s. We don’t have a Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson or Derrick Henry. We don’t have a RB on that level. We felt that we didn’t need that type of protection with the backs we have. We went in another direction. We’re lying in the weeds, waiting for a BIG dog to drop. We’ve got heavy hitters at QB and WR in the mean time and enough at RB that the guys we have won’t kill us. For the first time in a long time I felt that we moved entire rounds of the draft the way we wanted them to move. We forced owners to draft their back ups before they wanted to. We were the real disrupters of the 2025 draft. We took what the draft gave us and weren’t slaves to the RB and ended up loading up on talent. Dynamic Duo has a lot to prove. Duo has missed the playoffs in 3 of the last 5 seasons and haven’t won a playoff game since 2019. If one or two things go our way at RB, this team is going to be a force to be reckoned with… A
3. Showtime (Tom “The BIG Show” Zednik/27th season & Thomas “The Little Show” Zednik/Rookie)
For the first time since 1999, The BIG Show had a tag team partner in his son “The Little Show”. This was a much needed breath of fresh air to the Showtime franchise. Believe it or not, Showtime has logged 8 losing season over the last 9 years (2020 was the only winning season during this period 9-5). Showtime hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2022, haven’t won a playoff game since 2020 and that is their only playoff win over the last 8 seasons (since 2016). Showtime is another team with a lot to prove in 2025. They had a stud RB fall to them at #3 in Bijan Robinson. It was the second year in a row that Bijan was selected at #3 (2024 Dynamic Duo). Bijan Robinson is a solid RB, but he underwhelmed for most of the first half of the 2024 season and he had the best week of his career (28-170 and 2 TD’s) in week 18, when he helped no one - our Championship game is in week 17. Remove his week 18 stats and he’s Josh Jacobs. I’m not trying to rain on Showtime’s parade, I’m not saying Bijan was a bad pick, but he’s never going to be the best RB in the league, he’s a middle of the road RB1. When Showtime selected Joe Burrow in round 2 I was stunned and then it quickly came to me, part of the reason they made the pick was to prevent Dynamic Duo from pairing up Burrow with Chase, but we never talked about taking Burrow at the 2/3 turn. Burrow was the highest scoring player in the OSFL in 2024. He’s a stud, I was just a little surprised he went that high, but a very productive player. In the third round they selected James Cook who was a TD machine in 2024 with 18 total TD’s in 16 games. I love that Showtime bought insurance on both Bijan and Cook, selecting Tyler Allgeier in the 11th and Ray Davis in the 12th. They also took prominent back ups Zach Charbonnet in round 8 and Braelon Allen in round 10. One or both of those backs could get extended runs during the season. To say they went a little old at WR is an understatement. Tyreek Hill slid to the 4th round and consistently disrespected Mike Evans fell to the 5th round. Both are solid veterans but how much is left in the tank, especially with Tyreek. At this stage of the game, I think Tyreek Hill can make or break a team. If he returns to form, he could put Showtime over the top, but if he flames out there’s going to be a major hole to fill. Until further notice I think there’s a 60% chance Tyreek flames out. Mike Evans is as solid and consistent of a WR as there has ever been. No WR in the history of the NFL besides Evans has 11 consecutive 1000+ yard seasons. Evans has also scored 11+ TD’s in 4 of the last 5 seasons. Evans is the active TD leader with 105 career TD receptions. Just a solid 5th round pick, you cant ask for any more consistency than Evans has provided over the last decade. In round 6, The Shows took Jerry Jeudy who had a breakout season in 2024. Jeudy as a WR3 in this offense should be good to go. 9th round selection Jakobi Meyers is another criminally underrated producer at WR. Wandale Robinson caught 93 passes last season. That probably wont happen again, but in the 15th round he adds depth. They also took flyers on rookie Kyle Williams and Malik Washington as a little bit of a handcuff to Tyreek Hill. Showtime bought into the recent trend that rookie TE’s can be legit starters, selecting Colts rookie Tyler Warren in round 7 and Jets rookie Mason Taylor round 13. Both could be consistent producers immediately, but I would have added a veteran just in case, like they did at QB. Showtime selected Matthew Stafford in round 14 and Aaron Rodgers in round 18 to back up Burrow. Showtime will be a solid team. This is one of the better drafts Showtime has had in a while… B+
4. G-Force (Don Guenette/19th season & “Nic G” Guenette/Rookie)
Don is a 4 time OSFL champion, but he failed to reach the playoffs in 2024, tying a franchise worst 4-10/last place finish. It was the first time Don failed to reach the playoffs since 2018 and it was a wake up call. The number one RB from a year ago - Saquon Barkley fell into G-Forces lap. Blacktop is no more, G-Force is in the house. Like Showtime, Don has infused a new perspective on the franchise by joining forces with his son “Nic G” Guenette. It wasn’t a perfect draft, but it was best draft day work this franchise has done in years. They hammered RB early and often, using 3 of their first 4 picks on backs. Barkley was a force of nature in 2024 and could have easily broken the single season rushing record set by Eric Dickerson in 1984 (2105 rush yards). Barkley’s 2283 combined yards was the 13th most all-time. He was a monster. Having said that, the history of 2000 yard rushing seasons has not been kind to RB’s the following season. The best season any RB has ever had the year after rushing for 2000 was Barry Sanders in 1997, the next season he rushed for a respectable 1491 and then retired. They had to take Barkley, he probably shouldn’t have made it to them, but they should have bought the insurance. Will Shipley got sniped from them by division rival Dynamic Duo. I could not believe Kyren Williams made it to them in round 2. No one can question that to start the season G-Force has the top 1-2 punch at RB, that for me is undisputed. Between Barkley (23.6 - 1st) and Williams (21.8 - 3rd) no other RB duo drafted in 2025 averaged more touches per game last season. Add 4th round pick Alvin Kamara to the mix as an RB3 and it’s easily the best RB group in the OSFL. I know Kamara is getting long in the tooth, but he definitely had juice left in the tank in 2024, rushing for a career high 950 yards and caught 68+ receptions for the 6th time in his career. They added Quinshon Judkins in round 13. What a disaster the start of his NFL career has been. He was charged with a domestic that was later dropped but he was holding out for a guaranteed contract and then Cleveland held off signing him after he was charged and he missed the entire preseason. Because he wasn’t signed he wasn’t allowed to practice or even look at a playbook. After the NFL draft, I had Quinshon Judkins as a top 3 RB prospect. Judkins is special. He was thunder to Henderson’s lightening on Ohio State’s National Championship team. Judkins fell to the 13th round because we simply don’t know what’s going to happen with him. There are even rumors that he’s going back to college. Until his situation clears up Judkins cannot be counted on for anything. In round 15, Dynamic Duo forced G-Force to cuff up Blake Corum, after we sniped Will Shipley 5 picks earlier. They added Colts rookie DJ Giddens in round 19. In round 3, the Guenette’s locked up one of the top 2 TE’s - Brock Bowers who set NFL records (most receiving yards by a TE - 1194, set by Mike Ditka in 1961 - 1076 yards, and most receptions by a rookie regardless of position - 112, breaking the record set by Puka Nakua the year before - 105 receptions). Bowers was a beast, tying with Trey McBride for most bonuses (70+ yards in a game) with 8 in 2024. Bowers had an all time great historical season playing with absolute trash at QB last season. Raiders new QB Geno Smith didn’t really throw to the TE during his best seasons which were all spent in Seattle. This is a new system for Smith but he should be more productive than Aiden O’Connell. The venerable Zach Ertz returning for his 13th season is the back up at TE. G-Force hammered WR in rounds 5 thru 9, selecting an interesting group including DJ Moore, Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, Deebo Samuel and Khalil Shakir. Moore failed to hit 1000 yard receiving in 2024 as he clashed with former Bears head coach Matt Eberflus. Ben Johnson is hailed as an offensive guru, his influence could reinvigorate Moore’s production. I’m not a fan of Xavier Worthy. Yes he’s very fast but he’s a diminutive gadget player. I understand the pick, because in the very next round they selected Rashee Rice who is a stud. I’m sure they plan on using Worthy and hoping they could get a boost out of him for the first 6 weeks of the season while Rice is under suspension. When Rice gets back, this team is going to be a real problem. Deebo looked cooked last season for the 49ers, but is now on the high powered Washington Redskins offense. Khalil Shakir had a solid 2024, but he must now contend with an emerging Keon Coleman and the newly signed Joshua Palmer. The only other WR they added was Xavier Legette in round 16. If there is a weakness on this roster it’s at QB. G-Force was the 10th team to draft a QB, when they selected the unproven JJ McCarthey. I understand that McCarthey is surrounded by playmakers, we just haven’t seen him on the football field yet. G-Force covered their asses by selecting Justin Herbert in the very next round (11th) and Sam Darnold in the 14th. This is a good team. They’re stacked at RB, have one of the best TE’s, will have a legit WR in Rice once he returns and DJ Moore is a solid WR2. If they stay healthy and get enough production out of their QB, then G-Force will be among the front runners for the Southern Comfort division title…. A
5. Bronx Swag (Frankie “Wigs” Montesino/14th season & Ed “Money” Brennan/10th season)
For me, the first surprise of the draft occurred when Bronx Swag selected Christian McCaffrey with the 5th overall pick. CMC missed 13 games in 2024 and showed no juice on his way to looking very bad. When I heard about McCaffrey going to Germany last year to get stem cell injections into his Achilles tendon, I knew it was bad. I don’t like this pick at all and I have no clue how they’re going to sleep at night, because they didn’t buy the insurance on one of the most injury prone players of the last decade, failing to secure Brian Robinson Jr. I know any player can get hurt, but CMC has missed 10 or more games 4 times over the last 7 seasons and now he’s 29 years old. What they did and how they played it is off the charts crazy to me. I think Bronx Swag are gluttons for punishment and they’re going to pay dearly for this course of action. Bronx Swag’s bigger and better surprise was that Frankie “Wigs” Montesino flew in for the day just to be at the draft. It’s always good to see the people champ, you got robbed brother. If ya know ya know. 2nd round pick, Chase Brown is a young up and coming back. If he continues to catch the ball (54 catches) and score (11 TD’s) at last years pace, he’ll crack the top 10 RB. Bronx Swag jumped on the QB train, selecting 2 time (2019 & 2023) NFL MVP Lamar Jackson in round 3. Last season was the 2nd time in Jackson’s 7 year career that he played every game. Jackson set career highs with 4172 pass yards and 41 passing TD’s. As long as he’s up right, he’s a cheat code. In the 4th round, Bronx Swag selected their favorite player Garrett Wilson. This is the 4th consecutive season Wilson has been on Bronx Swag’s roster, but the first time they got him at a bargain price. Wilson has logged at least 83 catches and 1000+ receiving yards all 3 years of his NFL career. In round 5, Wigs and Ed Money locked up a third RB by taking Tony Pollard. The Titans finished as the worst team in the NFL in 2024. I get there’s renewed excitement in Tennessee because they had the #1 overall pick, but was it necessary to draft 3 Titans and your probably going to start 2 of them most weeks. Pollard is what he is, he’s a vanilla back. He’s going to average about 24 PPG. He is a solid RB3 in this offense. In round 6 they took Calvin Ridley. He had one BIG season for Atlanta in 2020, and he has been disappointing his owners ever since. Ridley is Mr. 4-58. He’s compiled 1000 yards in each of the last two seasons, but it’s been a boring 1000 yards. They added Cam Ward in round 14. It’s crazy to think that Bronx Swag will roll out the Titans offense in week 7. Jaylen Waddle in round 7 could turn out to be a steal. I love that they paired TE Mark Andrews with their QB Lamar Jackson in round 8. Andrews led all TE’s with 11 TD’s in 2024. In round 9, they selected 72 year old Austin Ekeler’s and the only reason they drafted him was because Dynamic Duo drafted CMC’s back up Brian Robinson Jr 3 picks earlier. You can have him. Ekeler is cooked. He touched the ball 112 times in 2024. We were not taking him ever. After we took Robinson I could hear Ed Money moaning from across the yard like his foot was stuck in a bear trap Mike Calise left out by accident. I really like what Bronx Swag did at TE, taking Andrews and then following him up with rookie Colston Loveland. The Bears used a first round pick (#10 overall) on Loveland, they’re going to use him and we know Ben Johnson loves to use his TE’s. Loveland could have an immediate impact. Swag shored up their WR’s group with Jayden Reed in the 11th, Hollywood Brown in the 15th, Cedric Tillman in the 16th and Dont’e Thornton in the 20th. Reed and Tillman will most likely find their way into the starting line up at some point. Hollywood Brown has been such a major disappointment that he makes Calvin Ridley look like Calvin Johnson. Brown might be cooked. Par for the course, Bronx Swag were the first team to draft a kicker, taking another favorite Brandon Aubrey who was the #1 kicker in the NFL/OSFL the last 2 seasons. Aubrey has scored 150+ NFL points over the last 2 seasons. The only other kicker in NFL history to score 150+ NFL points in more than one season was Stephen Gostkowski who did it 5 times, including 4 consecutive seasons from 2012 to 2015 and 2017. Aubrey is the only kicker who should’ve been considered going this early. It’s not a bad pick. Bronx Swag wrapped up their RB group by selecting Jaguars rookie Bhayshul Tuten who posted the fastest 40 time (4.32) of any RB at the 2025 NFL combine. Tuten also had a 40.5 vertical jump and bench pressed 24 reps. The Jaguars have a crowded backfield but Tuten has the athleticism and explosiveness to carve out a significant role for himself. Tuten could turn out to be one of the true value picks of the 2025 draft. Bronx Swag selected Issac Guerendo who is buried on the 49ers depth chart in the 19th. A lot of Bronx Swag’s success is pinned to the health and availability of a player who looked awful the last time we saw him and has an injury history that should give them nightmares. Far be it from me to argue with Ed Money’s draft strategy, he’s been one of the best in the OSFL over the last decade. He clearly had a plan on what he wanted to do, I just disagree with a lot of it (McCaffrey, the Titans, not cuffing McCaffrey. There’s enough goodness tucked into the later pockets of this draft that could throw Swag a lifeline if CMC goes down, but like all potential, it remains to be seen. Historically, over the last 9 years, Bronx Swag is 52-18 in even numbered years and 26-30 in odd numbered years….. C
6. The Wolfpack (Dino Lancia IV/14th season, Andrew Farhoumond/14th season, Paul O’Leary/16th season, Ben O’Leary/Rookie)
The blueprint is the blueprint for The Wolfpack and they’re not deviating. The Wolfpack has won a championship with this strategy. The Wolfpack (along with G’ss Mafia) have the best groups of WR’s in the OSFL. CeeDee Lamb took a step backwards last year after finishing 2023 as the #1 WR, but he was still a money player at the end of the season. It is my opinion that The Cowboys are going to throw, throw, throw and when things get bad, they’re going to throw. Lamb could return to the top of the charts in 2025. Ladd McConkey was a major contributor as a rookie in 2024. If you can live with the weekly “did not practice” and “game time decision” McConkey should continue to produce. Jaxon Smith-Njigba hauled in 100 receptions last season. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are gone. Cooper Kupp has been added and the Seahawks are going to try and run the ball more but JSN should still produce at a high level and if he plays anything like he did last year, he’s going to be a 2nd round pick next year. Terry McLaurin fell to the 4th round, I’m assuming because he held out all preseason, but he’s signed. McLaurin had a BIG year in 2024 (82-1096-13 TD’s). Mac could be some teams WR1. He’s a WR4 in this offense, which is ridiculous. In rounds 5 & 6, The Wolfpack drafted their top two RB’s in Aaron Jones and Jaylen Warren. I’m not going to sugarcoat The Wolfpack’s RB situation, it’s weak. Jones turned back the clock last year, compiling 1546 total yards (13 yards from a career high), 306 touches (which were a career high) and 7 TD’s. Jones will be 31 in December. They should’ve bought the insurance and drafted Jordan Mason at some point. Jaylen Warren has had a 200 touch cap during the first 3 years of his career. The Wolfpack added Nick Chubb in round 10. Chubb is cooked. He was playing on one leg last year. They took rookie Woody Marks in the 13th. I think this was a situation to best be avoided. They also grabbed Dolphins rookie Ollie Gordon in the 12th, who could get some run as Miami’s primary early season back up. That’s it at RB. There is no stability at the position heading into the season. The Wolfpack has won with this method before but this is pretty thin. Wolfpack loves their TE’s and they double tapped the position in rounds 7 and 9 with two value picks of David Njoku and Evan Engram. Njoku was top 10 in 2023 and 2024. Engram was top 5 in 2022 and 2023. They added Cade Otton in round 17. In round 8, The Wolfpack made Baker Mayfield their starting QB. Mayfield has thrown 69 TD’s and 4000+ yards over the last 2 seasons. Baker has established himself as a QB1. Geno Smith is entering his 12th season. Geno is nothing special, but he is a viable BYE week fill in. I’ve had him, he’s won games for me. The Wolfpack strengthened their deepest position in round 11 with the ultra value picks of Jauan Jennings, who conveniently missed all of training camp but seems to be fine now. They also added veteran Keenan Allen in the 14th. Marvin Mims who came on strong late last year in round 16 and Chargers rookie Tre Harris. Now that I’ve seen how deep The Wolfpack’s WR group is, they have the best group in the OSFL. Their second group could start for some teams. Someone check and see if Paul O’Leary is awake yet. The Wolfpack have a solid QB, the best WR group in the OSFL and very capable TE’s, but RB is a shit show, it’s among the thinnest in the OSFL. I do not trust the soon to be 31 Aaron Jones to last. I’m a Steelers fan, Jaylin Warren has a 200 touch cap, he’s a flex at best. At some point The Wolfpack are probably going to have to make a move to upgrade RB…. C
