The Kolodij trophy has been restored

The Kolodij trophy has been restored, expanded and will be presented to 2024 NDFFL Champion George Manuel.

  • The trophy, constructed in 1996 and awarded each year to the defending champion has been restored and expanded.
  • On August 27th, at the NDFFL Headquarters, it will be showcased again.

More than 25 years after its creation, the original championship trophy has been restored and is ready to be showcased at the 30th NDFFL draft.

Anonymous investors donated close to $5100 to cover the expansion, craftmanship and expenses for the improved trophy and took approximately four months to finish. The work was performed under secrecy by a novice carpenter Barnegat, NJ during the past six months.

The original Kolodij trophy was crafted by Crown Trophy in Jersey City, NJ to be awarded for the first time at the 1996 Fantasy Championship, a competition that later became known as the North District Fantasy Football League™. It is a masterpiece made of maple and a gold plated trophy, originally purchased for $237.63. The trophy store imported the base trophy from France and was responsible for crafting the original design and final piece.

In 2025, an additional wooden base level hs been added to the original wooden base to accommodate a second level of champion plaques. The original trophy was awarded in 1996 to former General Manager Chuck Lauziere after he won Fantasy Bowl I. The newest edition with the first plaque placed on the lower portion was won by General Manager George Manuel, marking his fourth NDFFL Championship, trailing only G.M. Pat Fay who has won five titles.

The restored trophy, with all its historical value, will be raised on August 27th, at the NDFFL Headquarters in Atlantic City, NJ by Manuel, kicking off the Leagues 30th season.
