A couple teams had their most recent draft picks dropped to reduce their rosters to 30.  If you don't know who you are, you'll figure it out soon enough . . .

Commissioner Wed Aug 28 11:58pm ET

Roster limits have been set to 30.  Anyone carrying more than 30 a week from tomorrow will have his most recent draft acquisition(s) dropped.  Hopefully, that won't be necessary.  Thanks

If anyone’s looking for TE depth, I have Henry and Musgrave (maybe Goedert) I’d be willing to deal…

5.) Roster Requirements:     Each team will operate with a roster size of 30 during the season.  There will be no additional IR spots available.  Prior to the draft each year the allowable roster size will be increased to 40 to allow teams to accumulate draft picks/players without making drops.

Devonta Smith is listed as #90 of the Top 100 players of 2024 for NFL Media:

https://x.com/NFLMedia/status/1819546225290420441

But I can't seem to move him in the ADFFC for a RB.

I haven't gotten a nibble from anyone for anything since I put him on the trade block.

Go figure.

NEW Keeper League

I have removed myself from a couple lesser competitive leagues and have decided to start a new keeper league similar to this one with a few rule tweaks. The entrance fee will be the same $75 and I am looking at using a league fee collection service to handle all league fee logistics.

- 24 Teams (2 Conferences of 12 teams) ( Four Divisions of three Teams) Each Conference has its own draft and player pool to draft from. Regular season is 13 weeks with league playoffs starting week 14-17. Both Conference Champions meet week 17 to determine the league winner. Consolation Bowl for each Conference, made up of the 6 teams that don't play for the League Title, Toilet Bowl winner gets league fees paid for the following year.
- Results determined by Head to Head play with a Serpentine draft each year. 1st years draft order will be determined by random selection, following years draft order will be determined by finishing order. Worst team getting #1 pick, etc.
- 100% League fee payout minus league service fee to Rtsports.
- Allowed to keep 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR and 1 other player (RB, WR, TE, K or DEF) from year to year
- Nothing crazy with scoring - PPR, 4 pt. passing TD, adjustment to QB passing yards scoring. If you are interested or have friends looking for a competitive league let me know.

It happened to me couple years ago…I knew I had to draft a QB because Watson was prob going to be suspended….So I took Lawrence at 1.6….which II really didn’t like…but then after draft the schedule comes out and Lawrence and my other QBs were on bye the same week…so I wasted a first rd pick. I am in another dynasty league with 10 rd draft that starts draft in 8 weeks….but it is a 12 hour draft slot. Not a real big deal but it does bring the factor of luck more into the game.

Wondering why we have the draft starting so early….wouldn’t it be better to move it back two weeks until the NFL schedule comes out? If does make a difference in the draft…if you have two or three of your QBs on bye the same week you would have to draft a QB early in draft.. I realize the draft has been the same date for years..but there is plenty of time to do the draft. Not trying to be a wet rag…. just my two cents.

Just speaking for myself, but I would never draft one rookie over another because of a BYE week.

The draft in this league is starting later than all of my other Dynasty leagues. They all started yesterday.

I've been in the scenario you described once in this league over the years. IMO you try to pick up someone (I believe there were 60+ different QB's that started at least 1 game last year), make a reasonable trade, or worst case you'd take a zero. I say that because I also would not force a bad trade just to fill out my starting lineup for 1 week. Again, just speaking for myself.

It can happen, but the chances are pretty remote IMO.

Commissioner Tue Mar 26 1:53pm ET

Joel (New Guy) has decided not to return.  His roster is available for bid until Saturday March 30 to other owners in the NDFFC.

"The process of taking over an available team will be a blind bid process. Any eligible league owner can submit a blind bid, via email, to the League Commissioner.  An eligible owner is defined as one who 1) has paid current year's league fees, and 2) still owns all his draft picks for the current and future years.  In other words, any owner who has traded away future picks cannot then swap out for a different team. The minimum bid will be $25 and the highest bid received wins the available franchise.  The winning bid amount is due immediately and is in addition to yearly league fees."

In an effort to fill the vacancy quickly, I've put out some local feelers.  If that's unsuccessful and I don't encounter opposition from current owners, I plan to change our rules to allow for owners in one conference to become a replacement owner in the other.  Details have not been thought through, especially how we'll determine who gets the team.  I don't really want to have blind bids involved, but there has to be some mechanism for selection from among all requesting owners.  And I don't want this to become a shopping trip, where an owner in one conference tries to upgrade his roster with the intention of dropping ownership of his current team the following year.  Lots of things to consider, but the thought process is underway.  Chime in if you like.  And first come, first serve will NOT be a criteria in the selection process.

Deadline for fees submission has passed.  Four teams have not yet renewed.  If you have contact with them please remind them.
