Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was surprisingly efficient during Sunday's season opener against the New York Jets. Coming into the season, fantasy managers weren't sure exactly what they were going to get from the 42-year-old quarterback. Clearly, Rodgers still has something left in the tank as he was sharp on Sunday. Rodgers completed 22-of-30 passing attempts for 244 yards and four touchdowns without any interceptions in the win. This was a close game until the end, but Rodgers was able to lead his team to a 34-32 victory. Maybe this was lightning in a bottle or a change of scenery gave Rodgers new life. Rodgers might be worth a look as a streaming option against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers went 22-for-30 for 244 yards and four touchdowns against the New York Jets in Week 1.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers did not play during the preseason but was able to find success in the regular season opener. He connected with seven pass catchers during the game and likely will continue to spread the ball around during games. He can be a possible option in two-quarterback leagues next week but can be avoided in standard leagues.

Dynasty | Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 22-of-30 passes for 244 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in a win against the Jets. Dynasty Analysis: #revenge. Rodgers still can't move very well but any notion that he'd be rusty with his new team was put to rest pretty early. He spread the ball around to seven different targets on the day and sincerely looked like he raised the ceiling of the Steelers team offensively today. It's just one week and way too early to make any predictions but this was about as good a start as you could hope for. Rodgers may indeed have one more QB1 season left in his 41-year old body.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will take the field for the first time in black and gold against the New York Jets in Week 1. While Rodgers will surely be motivated to face the team he spent the last two seasons with, this simply isn't a matchup to target for fantasy production. The Jets surrendered the fifth-fewest passing yards and 11th-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in 2024, and they were even tougher on the position the year prior. In addition, this contest carries the lowest-projected point total of the week. All things considered, Rodgers was solid last season, but he scored as a top-12 fantasy QB just six times. The 41-year-old should only be considered in superflex leagues as a low-end QB2 on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is taking extra efforts to make sure the team's offense is doing things correctly, according to The Athletic's Jeff Howe. Unfortunately, teachings from the 41-year-old are coming often. The Steelers exchanged their starting quarterback, running back, and top wide receiver this offseason, so there's not much continuity on the practice field. Howe notes the offense is still a work in progress, but Rodgers is doing everything he can to get the team ready for Week 1. Rodgers, in what is likely the final season of his career, is buried in the quarterback fantasy football rankings. But he's shown a tendency to hyper-target his top wide receiver, bringing hope for a strong season from DK Metcalf.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver DK Metcalf will not suit up for the team's preseason finale on Thursday against the Carolina Panthers, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Pass-rushers T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward also will not play. Rodgers will end up not playing at all in the preseason as he heads into his first year with the Steelers and potentially his last year in the NFL. The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer will take on his former team, the New York Jets, in Week 1 on Sunday, Sept. 7, where he'll be an unappealing, low-upside QB2 option for fantasy managers against a strong defense. Rodgers has looked slow during training camp and is expected to be more of a game manager in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's scheme in 2025. With Rodgers on the sidelines on Thursday, Mason Rudolph should start against Carolina.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers and WR DK Metcalf will not play in the final preseason, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Fantasy Spin: Neither Rodgers nor Metcalf played in a preseason game, so their first game snaps will happen during the Week 1 game. Metcalf will be the main target in the passing game for the Steelers and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues. Rodgers is coming off a decent 2024 season but should only be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not play in the team's second preseason game this Saturday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN. Rodgers will sit again and probably won't play in the preseason finale next week, either. The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer has seen it all at this point and needs to save the bullets he has left for the regular season. Backup Mason Rudolph will make another start this weekend at QB for Pittsburgh. Rodgers looked slow last year in his final season with the New York Jets while coming off an Achilles tear, and there's no guarantee he'll be any more athletic another year older. Rodgers still has the ability to sling it, but injuries will be a big concern, and it's hard to envision him lighting up box scores on a weekly basis in what is expected to be a run-first Steelers offense.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers and WR DK Metcalf will not play in the team's preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, Aug. 16, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
From TheHuddle
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers (leg) left practice early Tuesday, Aug. 12, after injuring his shin or ankle but was able to return for team drills.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers may have been stepped on and could miss a practice or two but should be fine for the regular season. He will be working in a new offense and with new pass catchers, so he should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin reports that quarterback Aaron Rodgers, among other veterans, will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the hosting Jacksonville Jaguars. With rookie signal-caller Will Howard (hand) battling a hand issue, fellow QBs Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are expected to handle the bulk of the reps for the team. However, it's worth mentioning that Howard has yet to be ruled out, per Mark Kaboly of 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh. Tomlin has noted that he's "comfortable" with what he's seen from his new quarterback, but also remarked that next week "may be different". Rodgers figures to get some playing time in before the start of the regular season, and that could come as soon as next Saturday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to town.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers and WR DK Metcalf are among the players that will not play in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 9, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers and Metcalf would benefit from some preseason work since it is a new offense for both, but they can play in one of the other two preseason games. Metcalf will be the focal point of the passing game for the Steelers and can be at least a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues, while Rodgers should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.
From TheHuddle
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers said he is willing to play in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 9, if the team asks him to play.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers would benefit from some preseason work, but it is not known if the Steelers want to risk him suffering a possible injury. He is working in a new offense and with a new group of pass catchers, so he should only be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

NFL.com's Coral Smith reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed general manager Omar Khan to a new three-year contract on Thursday. The financial details were not noted. Khan has been a member of the Steelers' organization since 2001, but took over his current role in 2022 from predecessor Kevin Colbert. The 48-year-old, known for his aggressive offseason moves, has undoubtedly been entertaining as the team's GM. However, despite continuing the franchise's winning ways, playoff wins -- particularly deep playoff runs -- have been the issue. The hope is that will change in 2025, with a revamped wide receiver room led by DK Metcalf, veteran signal-caller Aaron Rodgers at the helm, and the recent acquisition of tight end Jonnu Smith. Still, they share a division with two of the more brutal AFC squads (Bengals, Ravens). Pittsburgh hasn't won more than ten games or sat atop the AFC North since 2020, but they're pushing their chips all-in ahead of the upcoming campaign.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers has been working out with several of his receivers and tight ends in Malibu.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers didn't sign with the Steelers until early June, but it appears he is trying to make up for lost time. Extra reps with his new weapons certainly can't hurt, but given his performance the last few seasons, it is hard to imagine Rodgers being more than a QB2 in 2025.

From FantasyLife
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers plans to spend time with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to find a 'middle ground' between Rodgers' 'pass-happy' approach and Smith's 'run-heavy' play-calling, according to The Athletic's Mike DeFabo. Rodgers finished second in the NFL in pass attempts last season while Smith called the fourth-most running plays.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers' move to Pittsburgh is one of the NFL's more compelling storylines heading into 2025. As has been mentioned in numerous spaces, the veteran should be the best quarterback the team has had since the days of Ben Roethlisberger, though Smith and Rodgers striking a balance between their divergent approaches will be an interesting subplot. The veteran projects as a low-end QB2 in the same area as other immobile signal callers like Matthew Stafford and Tua Tagovailoa.
From TheHuddle
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers told The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, June 24, that he is 'pretty sure (the 2025 season) is my last season.'
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers suggested the reason he signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh earlier this month was that he anticipated he would retire after 2025. Regardless of how things went for him during his time with the New York Jets, Rodgers in Year 20 should still be considered a huge upgrade over what the Steelers have had at quarterback since Ben Roethlisberger's final seasons. Rodgers is well past the days of being a fantasy QB1, but he should offer steady QB2 value this season.
From TheHuddle
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that he's "pretty sure this is it" in terms of 2025 being the last season of his storied NFL career. Rodgers said that's why he only signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh this offseason. The 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time MVP will turn 42 years old this December. His mobility appeared to be limited in 2024 after tearing his Achilles with the New York Jets in 2023, and he threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 starts while leading Gang Green to a disappointing 5-12 record. DK Metcalf will be his primary aerial target with the Steelers, but it remains to be seen how much he'll be able to stretch the field in an offense that figures to lean on the run. Rodgers was the QB15 in fantasy this year and will likely have a lower ceiling in the Steel City.
