The Tennessee Titans have released cornerback Caleb Farley, their first-round pick from 2021, among Tuesday's roster cuts. Farley. Farley missed some time this training camp with a hamstring injury but was able to play in Tennessee's final preseason game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Injuries have wreaked havoc on Farley's career as he missed most of 2022 with a torn ACL and then missed the entirety of the 2023 NFL season with back injuries that caused him to undergo a microdiskectomy, putting his playing career in jeopardy. Farley has only played 12 games in three seasons, putting up just 14 tackles and one pass defended in his career thus far. It remains to be seen if Farley will pursue other NFL opportunities, but if he's on any IDP rosters, he can be dropped into free agency.

Tennessee Titans cornerback Caleb Farley (back) was on the practice field during organized team activities on Tuesday and was moving around well. Head coach Brian Callahan said the group of trainers is working with Farley to get him in a position to help the team this fall. A back injury caused Farley to miss the entire 2023 season, but the Titans are hoping to have him available in their secondary this year. The 25-year-old former 22nd overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft out of Virginia Tech has been a first-round bust so far for the Titans, as he's only played 12 games and made two starts in his first three years in the league. If he makes it to training camp this summer without any setbacks with his back, Farley figures to compete for the slot cornerback role.

The Tennessee Titans plan to decline the fifth-year option on cornerback Caleb Farley (back), according to a source. It was the expected move for the Titans after Farley played in just 12 games (two starts) since 2021. The former 22nd overall pick in 2021 out of Virginia Tech will now hit the free-agent market after the 2024 season. Farley missed all of the 2023 campaign due to a back injury and has a total of 14 tackles (13 solo) and one pass defended in his 12 games with the Titans in 2021 and 2022. The 25-year-old defensive back will be trying to stay on the field in 2024 with Tennessee and be productive in what is now his walk year before hitting the open market next spring.
