Dynasty | After getting a big quarterback upgrade with the selection of Caleb Williams, Moore gets some serious competition for targets as the Bears pick Rome Odunze. Dynasty Analysis: The excitement of Williams throwing to Moore and Co. lasted all of eight picks, as the ninth overall selection of Odunze poses a threat to Moore's workload. While Odunze's downfield prowess compliments the short-mid range deployment of Keenan Allen, Odunze will directly compete with Moore for downfield and perimeter targets. Moore will continue to line up as the WR1 in the offense, but his WR16 dynasty ranking at DLF isn't likely to hold up with his diminished target share.

Dynasty | The Chicago Bears drafted wide receiver Rome Odunze with the ninth overall pick in the 2024 overall draft. Dynasty Analysis: Many mock drafts had put Odunze at #9 to Chicago and that's exactly where he ended up. His dynasty prospects are going to be a little cloudy early as he attempts to navigate his way to targets with the likes of Keenan Allen and DJ Moore early in his career but he has the chops to be a dominant dynasty performer in time. His career arc should match that of Caleb Williams and while the early returns could be hit and miss he still looks like a top three wide receiver and top five rookie pick this off-season.

Dynasty | The Chicago Bears drafted USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Dynasty Analysis: As expected. The Bears made this all but a certainty when they traded Justin Fields to the Steelers earlier this off-season. Williams will immediately take over the franchise and will be in a unique situation as a rookie starter with an offense that isn't exactly lacking talent. The likes of Keenan Allen, DJ Moore and D'Andre Swift should be enough to keep his dynasty value high even as he learns the position. Williams should be immediately installed as a low-end QB1 and an easy pick at the top of a Superflex league rookie draft.

Apr 25 8:30pm ET

The Chicago Bears selected USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, as expected, in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night. Last year's draft trade with the Carolina Panthers allowed Chicago to move to the No. 1 spot this year. Williams was the favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick to the Bears for the entire pre-draft process, and it became more apparent when they dealt Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers a month ago. Not only is the 22-year-old the safest QB prospect in this year's class, but he's entering a situation in Chicago that should be conducive to immediate success in real life and in fantasy. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner will be the clear top pick in rookie-only fantasy drafts this fall and should be in play in two-QB leagues in 2024 as well.

The Chicago Bears are expected to select USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, but they are willing to trade down from the No. 9 overall selection, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. Chicago only has four total picks in this year's draft, so moving down to acquire more selections makes plenty of sense. The team has been linked to Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze, Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner, and UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu if they stay put, but the options become plentiful if they decide to move down the board. QB-needy teams like the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders could be potential trade partners. Quarterbacks Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr., and J.J. McCarthy could still be available at that spot.

The New England Patriots currently own the No. 3 overall pick in this week's NFL draft. Unsurprisingly, many teams are interested in trading up to the third spot this year to take a quarterback of the future. The problem is the Patriots need a new franchise QB of their own after cutting the cord on Mac Jones this offseason. Also, according to a source, the Patriots are still waiting on a "serious" offer for the pick. So far, the offers they have received have been "laughable," suggesting New England is more likely to stick in the stop and take a young signal-caller to compete with veteran Jacoby Brissett this summer. USC's Caleb Williams is a near certainty to go first overall to the Bears, but the Pats are expected to be picking among LSU's Jayden Daniels, North Carolina's Drake Maye or Michigan's J.J. McCarthy if they stay at No. 3.

Apr 11 2:20pm ET

The Washington Commanders will host Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy, North Carolina QB Drake Maye and LSU QB Jayden Daniels for visits next week, according to sources. The Commanders are taking a long look at all three signal-callers as they hold the second overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The Chicago Bears are fully expected to take USC QB Caleb Williams first overall, but if the Commanders don't trade out of the No. 2 pick, they'll have their choice of McCarthy, Maye and Daniels after trading last year's starter, Sam Howell, to the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. McCarthy going second overall would be a pretty big surprise despite the fact his draft stock has been rising since his impressive pro day. If any team is going to trade up to No. 2, it might be the Las Vegas Raiders in order to take Daniels.

USC quarterback Caleb Williams, the potential No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, made his top-30 facility visit to the Chicago Bears on Wednesday, according to sources. Williams was in town for dinner on Tuesday night as well. It's likely his only visit with Chicago before they most likely take him with the No. 1 overall pick later this month. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is the consensus top QB prospect in this year's draft class. The Bears tipped their hand by already trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, so Williams is fully expected to be taken first overall as Chicago's next franchise signal-caller. Williams' college production fell off in his final year in 2023, but he's still likely to start right away in Week 1 of his rookie season in the NFL this fall.

Mar 25 2:10pm ET

The Chicago Bears will host USC quarterback Caleb Williams for a visit at Halas Hall in the first week of April, at which point the Bears will get their medical evaluation of Williams. The Bears traded Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, signaling that they will almost certainly hold onto the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft to select Williams as their future franchise signal-caller. Williams didn't work out at the scouting combine in Indianapolis and didn't disclose any medical information, either, so the Bears will get a closer look at their future QB soon. Not only does the 22-year-old have the most long-term upside of any passer in this year's class, but the Bears have upgraded their offense this offseason so that hopefully Williams can come in and hit the ground running from Day 1.

New Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn admitted on Saturday that "it'd be fair to envision we'd be taking a quarterback" in next month's NFL draft. "To say where it'll be happening, I think that's a better question for (general manager) Adam (Peters)," Quinn said. The new head coach said there's still a lot of work to do on who the team will take if they decide to stay at No. 2 overall. Washington added veteran QB Marcus Mariota in free agency and also traded 2023 starter Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks, so they have a clear need at the position heading into 2024. The Chicago Bears are fully expected to take USC QB Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall, with the Commanders most likely deciding between LSU's Jayden Daniels and North Carolina's Drake Maye.

Dynasty | The Chargers have traded wide receiver Keenan Allen to the Bears in exchange for a fourth round pick. Dynasty Analysis: The cash-strapped Chargers have already released Mike Williams and now Allen is on the move. The ridiculously consistent receiver now joins the likes of DJ Moore, Cole Kmet and D'Andre Swift in a totally re-worked offense. Allen has a whopping 904 career catches, good for 26th all-time. He also has a total of five different 100-catch seasons. While his numbers are bound to dip a bit with a likely rookie quarterback (Caleb Williams, anyone), he should provide WR2 value at worst based on volume alone.

Mar 4 2:30pm ET

The Chicago Bears are expected to meet with USC quarterback Caleb Williams after his pro day on March 20, but they initially wanted to talk to him after the NFL scouting combine, which would be incredibly early. In an ideal world, Chicago would be able to assess this year's QB class before deciding what to do with Justin Fields. But it's not practical for the Bears to wait until mid-August to trade Fields, when the spots available for veteran signal-callers across the NFL have filled up. The Bears also want to do right by Fields and trade him before the start of free agency next week, if possible, to maximize his value. It would be a pretty big surprise at this point if the Bears don't hold on to the No. 1 overall pick in the draft to select Williams as their franchise QB.

ESPN's Dan Graziano writes that some thought early this week that a trade down out of the No. 3 overall pick in this year's NFL draft was possible for the New England Patriots, but by the end of the week, the sense seemed to be that the Patriots would stay put and take one of the top three quarterbacks -- USC's Caleb Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye and LSU's Jayden Daniels. Taking a QB at No. 3 overall wouldn't preclude New England from pursuing a veteran signal-caller such as former Patriot Jacoby Brissett in free agency, in case they decide it doesn't want to rush the rookie prospect they take at No. 3. After two straight poor seasons running the Patriots' offense, New England is fully expected to move on from Mac Jones this offseason.

Mar 3 2:30pm ET

The Washington Commanders have received trade inquiries from teams on the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft. These inquiries might not be hard, actionable offers, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, but there is interest from teams in moving up. Among the clubs that could be on the quarterback radar are the New York Giants (No. 6 overall pick), Atlanta Falcons (No. 8), Minnesota Vikings (No. 11) and the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 13). However, Fowler writes that he would be surprised if the Commanders, who are themselves looking to upgrade at the position over Sam Howell, moved off the No. 2 overall pick. The Bears are expected to take USC QB Caleb Williams first overall, with North Carolina's Drake Maye and LSU's Jayden Daniels being prime QB prospects to come off the board at No. 2 overall.

The New England Patriots have a plan in place to reshape their quarterback position in new head coach Jerod Mayo's first year running the team, according to multiple sources. The Patriots' plan is to sign a veteran in free agency, draft a quarterback at No. 3 overall in the upcoming NFL draft and potentially sit the rookie if need be. Mac Jones is on his way out. One NFL executive relayed that it's widely expected in league circles that QBs will be taken with the first three picks in April's draft. USC's Caleb Williams is expected to go first overall, with New England's decision likely to come down to either LSU's Jayden Daniels or North Carolina's Drake Maye. The Pats interviewed both prospects at this week's scouting combine and have been heavily focused on QBs at the combine. No matter what, whichever QB they select in the draft isn't going to be rushed into a starting role in 2024 if they aren't ready.

Feb 28 4:50pm ET

In an interview with ESPN, top 2024 NFL Draft quarterback prospect Caleb Williams said he'd be "excited" if the Chicago Bears drafted him in April. For months, there have been rumors that Williams would like to avoid being taken by Chicago, but he has never suggested it himself. "If I get drafted by the Bears, I'll be excited," Williams said. "If they trade the pick, and I get drafted by someone else, I'm just as excited. Speaking about Chicago, they have a talented team, a talented offense and defense. For anyone to be in that situation, I think they'd be excited." Williams is set to meet with the Bears, Washington Commanders, New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapaport. He will take part in meetings, but he has opted out of participating in on-field work this week. The Bears must decide if they want to continue rolling with Justin Fields at quarterback, or potentially trade him and make the former USC star the future of the franchise ahead of the 2024 season.

Feb 26 2:20pm ET

USC quarterback and projected No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams is not expected to throw at all during this week's NFL scouting combine, according to sources. Williams will instead throw at his school's pro day on March 20. The 22-year-old Heisman Trophy winner in 2022 could go to the Chicago Bears at No. 1 overall if they hold onto the pick and choose to move on from Justin Fields this offseason. He spent three years in college at Oklahoma and USC and is the clear top QB prospect heading into the NFL draft in 2024. While Williams' numbers didn't look as good in 2023 compared to his Heisman-winning season in 2022, he should still be expected to start from Day 1 in the NFL in his rookie season in 2024.

Dynasty | USC quarterback Caleb Williams reportedly will not take part in the passing drills at this week's NFL Scouting Combine. Dynasty Analysis: Over the past few years, it's become more and more of a rarity to see the top couple of quarterbacks participate in much at the Combine. It's an unfortunate reality for those who are really wanting to evaluate them but there should be enough on tape to show Williams can spin the ball as well as anyone. This shouldn't affect his status as the top quarterback but it's clear Williams thought there was more to lose here than gain.

If the Chicago Bears end up trading the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, it's going to take a historic haul of draft picks and overall compensation, according to sources. In the words of another source, it would have to be "crazy." The Bears received the No. 1 overall pick in a blockbuster trade last offseason with the Carolina Panthers and are more likely than not to make the pick and land their new franchise quarterback. USC QB Caleb Williams is expected to be the top overall pick. If Chicago takes him, they would almost certainly trade Justin Fields to the highest bidder in what should be an active market. The Bears were happy with the improvement Fields made in 2023, but the rare opportunity to pick first overall could trump that. If Fields stays, he would almost certainly require a contract extension at some point soon. Chicago also has the No. 9 overall pick in 2024.

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has withdrawn himself from consideration for the offensive-coordinator job of the Las Vegas Raiders, according to his agent, Erik Burkhardt. Sources said on Thursday that Kingsbury was expected to be hired under head coach Antonio Pierce. The 44-year-old Kingsbury was one of four candidates who interviewed for the position in the last two weeks, including Luke Getsy, Alex Van Pelt and Mike Sullivan. Van Pelt was since hired as the New England Patriots' offensive coordinator. Kingsbury worked last year with USC quarterback Caleb Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner and the expected first overall pick in this year's draft. It remains to be seen who the Raiders will pivot to now to run their offense in 2024.
