Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook said he hasn't 'scratched the surface' of his potential yet. 'I'm getting back to how I used to feel,' Cook said. 'My confidence is out the roof. I feel great. I've had a great offseason.'

Fantasy Spin: After a knee injury cut his rookie year short, Cook battled a hamstring issue last year. Still, he has flashed his upside when healthy, and he should enter 2019 as the lead back for the Vikings. He's a RB2 with a lot of upside.

Mar 18 4:30pm ET

The Minnesota Vikings re-signed running back Ameer Abdullah to an undisclosed deal on Monday. Minnesota picked Abdullah up on waiver last year, and he ended the season the team's primary kick returner after flaming out in four seasons with the Lions. In 10 games with the Lions and Vikes last year, Abdullah had just one carry. He had 165 totes for 552 yards (3.3 yards per carry) and four touchdowns in 2017 in 14 games. Abdullah will provide depth behind Dalvin Cook and Michael Boone in 2019.

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook could thrive in 2019 with Gary Kubiak joining the team as an offensive assistant who is expected to implement a zone running scheme. Cook tore his ACL early in his rookie season and missed six games in 2018, so he should surpass his career numbers if he can just stay healthy. On his 207 attempts in his two seasons, Cook has run for 969 yards and caught 51 passes for 395 yards for six total touchdowns. Kubiak's offense will likely give Cook a more defined role in the offense. Quarterback Kirk Cousins should be under center a lot more in 2019 instead of in the shotgun, and Cook did much better with Cousins under center in 2018. A better offensive line and more efficiency out of Cook would also help. Because of his injuries, Cook can probably be had at some point in the second round as a low-end RB1 with potential to outperform his draft slot if he stays healthy.

The Minnesota Vikings announced on Wednesday that Kevin Stefanski, who was a finalist for the Browns head coaching gig, will return in 2019 as the offensive coordinator, according to a source. Stefanski took over midseason for John DeFilippo and placed more of an emphasis on the running game with Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray. The Vikes have some of the best all-around talent both in the passing and running game, so they'll try to remain as balanced as possible moving forward. Cook is the biggest beneficiary of the team sticking with Stefanski.

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook closes out his injury prone 2018 season on a disappointing note. Cook rushed 11 times for 39 yards and caught four passes for 21 yards in the 24-10 loss to the Bears. Cook's durability is going to be the biggest concern going forward. He has the potential to be a star running back, but can't seem to stay on the field. We'll see if his luck changes next season.

Dec 31 12:03am ET

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook rushed 11 times for 39 yards and caught four passes for 24 yards in a 24-10 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: It took a while for Cook to find a rhythm this year, but last year's knee surgery and a hamstring injury likely played a role. If he enters 2019 healthy, Cook could rebound in a big way. He's worth targeting as a RB2.

Dec 24 11:10am ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook had another productive outing on Sunday, rushing 16 times for 73 yards and adding three catches on three targets for 35 receiving yards in the 27-9 win over the Detroit Lions. As with the entire offense, Cook started this game slowly as the Lions kicked field goals and the Vikings' drives were stalling fast. However, Cook was force-fed the ball as the Vikings took the lead and looked to salt the clock away, and he did the most with his touches. This is the third straight game in which Cook has averaged 4.2 YPC or better. Cook will face a much stiffer test in Week 17 against the top-tier defense of the Chicago Bears - consider him a mid-range RB2 for that contest.

Dec 23 5:43pm ET

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook ran 16 times for 73 yards in Week 16 against the Detroit Lions and he added three grabs for 35 yards on three targets.

Fantasy Spin: Cook didn't find the end zone, but he had another decent day in terms of scrimmage yards. His biggest obstacle so far has been staying healthy. When healthy he is a legit RB2 or flex fantasy talent. The Vikings wrap up the regular season against the Bears in Week 17, fighting for their playoff lives.

Dec 18 1:00pm ET

Vikings' RB Dalvin Cook scored 29.30 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 15 win against the Dolphins. Cook ran for 136 yards and caught one pass for 27 yards with two touchdowns.

Dec 16 9:43pm ET

Minnesota Vikings WR Dalvin Cook registered 136 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins and he added a 27-yard catch on two targets.

Fantasy Spin: The rushing touchdowns were Cook's first this season, and it was also his first 100-yard rushing day of 2018. He has a ton of potential, but he has been hampered by injuries. If he can stay on the field for an extended period he has the gifts to be a fantasy must-start in 2019.

Dec 16 4:30pm ET

Vikings' RB Dalvin Cook ran for 136 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns in Sunday's win against the Dolphins.

Dec 16 4:20pm ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook tallied 136 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries during a blowout 41-17 over the Miami Dolphins. He also had one reception for 27 yards. It was the most running yards Cook has had in a game during his young career. It was also his first multi-touchdown game of the season. Cook has had a tough campaign, but he saved his best performance for the fantasy playoffs. Kevin Stefanski, the Vikings' new offensive coordinator, had a plan to utilize Cook far more frequently. He is a high-end RB2 going into Week 16 against the Detroit Lions.

Dec 13 10:03pm ET

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook faces the Miami Dolphins in Week 15, and the Dolphins have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards in the NFL this season.

Fantasy Spin: Cook's usage is on the rise, and after logging 17 touches in Week 13, he tallied 18 touches last weekend. A similar workload against Miami should yield RB2 production.

Dec 13 4:30pm ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook had 18 touches in Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks, and in reality, he should have had more. Cook has also become a key member of the passing attack, totaling 13 receptions over the past two weeks. Now, with a new offensive coordinator, Cook is set to be unleashed against the 29th ranked run defense of the Miami Dolphins in Week 15. Expect the Vikings to use him early and often as they attempt to recover from the offensive issues that plagued them in Week 14. Cook is a solid RB2 for fantasy purposes against the Dolphins.

Dec 11 12:30pm ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook carried the ball 13 times for 55 yards and hauled in five receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown during Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks. Cook has arguably been the best player on offense for the Vikings but remains underutilized. Look for Cook to see more usage in the coming weeks with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo getting fired on Tuesday morning. Cook is a definite RB2 for a Week 15 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Dec 10 11:23pm ET

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook rushed 13 times for 55 yards in the Week 14 loss against the Seattle Seahawks and he scored his team's only touchdown on a reception in garbage time.

Fantasy Spin: Cook wasn't the problem on the Vikings offense, which was completely shut down by a hungry Seahawks defense. Fantasy owners were bailed out late with Cook's scoring grab. He'll look to keep it up against the Miami Dolphins.

Dec 6 3:30pm ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has not seen more than 10 carries in a game since returning in Week 9. Cook had 84 yards on nine carries during a loss to the New England Patriots in Week 13. He also had 22 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions. The Vikings reluctance to commit to the ground game has been puzzling, as Cook has shown his explosiveness on several runs. In Week 14, he matches up against a Seattle Seahawks defense that has given up seven touchdowns to running backs in the past five weeks. As long as the game script permits it, Cook should be a focal point of the Vikings' offense on Monday night. He is a mid-tier RB2 for Week 14.

Dec 2 9:43pm ET

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook rushed nine times for 84 yards in Week 13 against the New England Patriots and he added eight receptions for 22 yards on 10 targets.

Fantasy Spin: Since Cook has returned from injury he has been the bellcow back with Latavius Murray more of an afterthought. As long as Cook can stay healthy he remains a decent low-end RB2 or flex fantasy option in standard play, and a must-start in PPR.

Dec 2 9:20pm ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook rushed for 84 yards on nine carries (9.3 yards per carry) in Week 13's loss to the New England Patriots. He also caught 8-of-10 targets for 22 yards, with the eight catches representing a new career-high for the second-year back. Cook showed off his quick burst and playmaking ability in this game, though negative game-script hurt his ability to produce in the second half. He out-touched Latavius Murray 17-6, so fantasy owners can have confidence in his role as the starting running back moving forward. Roll out Cook as a upper-tier RB2 for next week's matchup versus the Seattle Seahawks.

From RotoBaller

Nov 30 4:50pm ET

Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has had over 100 all-purpose yards in two of his past three games. He has become an explosive weapon in the passing game since returning from injury in Week 9. Cook will face the New England Patriots in Week 13, who are giving up 107.7 rushing yards per game. Cook is unquestionably the lead back and should be a focal point of the offense. The sophomore can be started as an RB2 for fantasy purposes in Week 13.
