Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard (ankle) said he feels very good health-wise after he missed the team's playoff lost against the Kansas City Chiefs due to an ankle injury. All signs point to Bernard being fully ready for training camp this summer and for the start of the 2024 regular season this fall. The 24-year-old was second in overall IDP fantasy points at the linebacker position in 2023, behind only Atlanta Falcons linebacker Foyesade Oluokun. In 17 regular-season games, Bernard racked up a career-high 143 tackles (84 solo), a career-high 6.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, nine QB hits, three interceptions, five passes defended and three fumble recoveries. As long as he's healthy in 2024, Bernard is going to be in play as a weekly starting linebacker in IDP formats.

The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent defensive tackle DeShawn Williams to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday. Williams will give the Bills continued depth for their defensive tackle room that went into free agency with just Ed Oliver and Eli Ankou under contract. The 31-year-old Williams played in 16 games (10 starts) for the Carolina Panthers last year and finished with 33 tackles (13 solo) and seven QB hits. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2016 with the Cincinnati Bengals out of Clemson, and the Bills will be the fourth different team he's played for in six seasons. In total, Williams has racked up 148 tackles (72 solo), nine sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 30 QB hits, one interception and nine passes defended in 66 games (44 starts). Williams will be off the IDP fantasy radar.

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane recently said that the organization is open to bringing back safety Micah Hyde. The 33-year-old is currently a free agent but has spent the last seven seasons in Buffalo. Last season, Hyde recorded 54 tackles and two interceptions while earning a PFF coverage grade of 67.2. He's not in his prime anymore, but Hyde can still contribute to an NFL roster. Hyde is currently a free agent and eligible to sign wherever, but it seems plausible that he'd want to continue his career in Buffalo. Otherwise, Taylor Rapp and Mike Edwards figure to be the primary safety options next season.

Free-agent S Micah Hyde would still be an option for the Buffalo Bills if Hyde decides to continue his playing career, according to general manager Brandon Beane.

Free-agent defensive tackle Austin Johnson agreed to a one-year deal with the Bills. The 29-year-old could earn up to $4 million, and the announcement comes after he recently visited the Cardinals on Friday. Johnson started every game for the Los Angeles Chargers during the 2023-24 campaign, totaling 46 tackles, a forced fumble, and two passes defensed. Johnson may not see as much action this season, so it's hard to tell what kind of impact he'll have from an IDP standpoint. However, the move at least adds depth for a club that had issues keeping guys healthy on the defensive side of the ball last season.

Mar 22 4:10pm ET

Free-agent defensive lineman Austin Johnson is visiting with the Arizona Cardinals on Friday after wrapping up a visit with the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old was a 2016 second-round pick by the Tennessee Titans and has also spent time with the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers. Through his first 116 NFL games, Johnson has accumulated 241 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, ten passes defended, and 15.5 run stuffs. He's far from a star at the position, but he will bring depth to wherever he ends up signing.

Mar 20 4:30pm ET

Free-agent veteran safety Mike Edwards has agreed to terms to sign with the Buffalo Bills on a one-year deal, the team announced on X. Edwards was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft but spent last year with the Kansas City Chiefs. The two-time Super Bowl champion has racked up 235 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, eight interceptions, 26 pass deflections, and three defensive touchdowns in 75 career games. He and Taylor Rapp will be tasked with helping replace longtime Bills' safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde in 2024.

The Buffalo Bills are re-signing cornerback Taron Johnson to a three-year, $31 million deal, confirmed by his agent, Jason Chayut. Johnson earned his first All-Pro nod in 2023 after collecting 98 total tackles (72 solo), one sack, three forced fumbles, four interceptions, and eight passes defended in 17 games. His new deal makes him the highest-paid nickel corner in the NFL. The 2018 fourth-round pick out of Weber State will have to continue to step up in 2024, as the Bills will be without long-time starters in the secondary Tre'Davious White, Jordan Poyer, and Micah Hyde. Johnson was the No. 22 defensive back in IDP scoring last season.

Free-agent linebacker Nicholas Morrow is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, as reported by NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The 2017 undrafted free agent started 12 games for the Philadelphia Eagles last year, his lone season with the organization. Overall, the 28-year-old has posted 465 tackles, seven sacks, three forced fumbles, three interceptions, 27 passes defended, and 41.5 run stuffs through his first 94 games with the Raiders, Bears, and Eagles. He is likely to compete for a starting spot in Sean McDermott's defense during training camp.

Veteran defensive lineman DaQuan Jones agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The 32-year-old has spent the last two seasons with Buffalo after one year with the Carolina Panthers and seven years with the Tennessee Titans. He missed 10 games last year with a pectoral injury but still posted his highest sack total (2.5) since 2018 (3.5). He is the team's run-stuffing defensive tackle in the middle of Sean McDermott's defense, and he's now locked up for two more seasons.

The Buffalo Bills are re-signing veteran safety Taylor Rapp to a three-year $10.62 million deal with $4.85 million in guarantees, according to 33rd Team's Ari Meirov. The contract has $3.9 million available in incentives. The organization recently cut ties with longtime starter Jordan Poyer, but they are bringing back Rapp to help in the backend. Originally a 2019 second-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams, Rapp played in 14 games (six starts) for Buffalo in 2023, totaling 50 tackles, half of a sack, and one interception. He should have an expanded role in 2024 since Micah Hyde and Poyer are set to be free agents.

From RotoBaller

Mar 6 6:40pm ET

The Buffalo Bills and pass-rusher Von Miller agreed to a renegotiated contract on Wednesday, according to a source. The new deal has a base value of $8.855 million in 2024, with the chance for Miller to make up to $20 million with incentives (up from $17.5 million under the old deal). The restructure saves the Bills $8.645 million in salary cap space this year. The 34-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl MVP suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2022 and got a late start in 2023 in his second year in Buffalo, ultimately playing in only 12 games while not recording a single sack for the first time in his 12-year NFL career. At this point, Miller is no longer on the IDP fantasy radar and has become a rotational pass-rusher in Buffalo.
