2024 RTSports Outlook

Kmet started his season slow, going without a catch each of his first two games, but finished strong. He was ninth overall in fantasy tight end scoring. He had two games with multiple touchdowns and had five games with double-digit fantasy points. Kmet had 50 receptions for 544 yards and a career-best seven touchdowns. He has two straight seasons with at least 50 receptions. He will be the top tight end in an emerging offense, led by Justin Fields. Kmet is a huge target at tight end. He has very good hands and good speed down the seam. He also is tough to bring down because of his size. He isn't much of a blocker, though, and doesn't have top speed for the position.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Kmet is a low-end No. 1 fantasy tight end. He might disappear some weeks but should also produce big at times. He can produce similar numbers to last year. Expect around 60 receptions for 600 yard and five scores.

Player Notes
Feb 8 6:20pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (forearm) said that he broke his right forearm in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Green Bay Packers and currently has a brace on it. He said he'll be cleared soon and the injury won't hinder his offseason training at all. The 24-year-old didn't realize he had a significant injury in the loss to the Packers and finished out the game with three catches for 41 yards on four targets. Kmet has played in every single game so far in his four years in the NFL, and he finished last season with career-highs in catches (73) and receiving yards (719) while scoring six touchdowns in 17 games played. His fantasy outlook as a TE1 for the 2024 season will depend on what the Bears brass decides to do at the quarterback position. If they decide to move on from Justin Fields, Kmet will most likely be working with a rookie signal-caller.

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee) is expected to play against the Green Bay Packers in Week 18 despite being listed as questionable, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 24-year-old was active last week, too, but essentially occupied a decoy role, playing 18 percent of offensive snaps while failing to command a target. A similar scenario is unlikely this weekend. Instead, Kmet should have a full workload, putting him in the TE1 tier for fantasy purposes.

Jan 5 4:00pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee) is listed as questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Kmet didn't practice on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday and managed to put in a full practice on Friday, so he's clearly on the right side of questionable. The 24-year-old was also questionable last week but was active and played a season-low 13 snaps in the Week 17 win over the Atlanta Falcons. It sounds as though he's healthier this week, which means he should see the field more often. Kmet could see plenty of targets, too, with receiver Darnell Mooney (concussion) already being ruled out. In the season opener against Green Bay, Kmet had five catches on seven targets for 44 yards. Consider him a risky low-end, touchdown-dependent TE1 in fantasy for the Bears' final game of the season at Lambeau Field.

Jan 4 3:10pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee) practiced in a limited fashion on Thursday after logging a DNP on Wednesday. Kmet has been dealing with injuries that have limited him in practice and games in the last two weeks. Ahead of Week 16, a quad issue limited his participation in practice, though he did finish with a season-high 107 receiving yards against the Arizona Cardinals. In Week 17, his knee injury kept him out of practice until Friday and he was limited to just 13 snaps against the Atlanta Falcons. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring news for updates on his status.

Jan 3 12:30pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee) will not practice on Wednesday. "They just need another day with the trainers to get ready...it's looking positive but we'll see where it is," head coach Matt Eberflus said. As long as Kmet is able to practice on Thursday or Friday, he should be available to play in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The 24-year-old played through his knee injury in the Week 17 win over the Atlanta Falcons but wasn't targeted at all. If he's able to play, Kmet should be able to bounce back against the Packers and will be on the fantasy radar as a low-end TE1 option for managers still playing for a championship. In Week 1 against the Packers, Kmet caught five of seven targets for 44 yards.

Dec 31 11:40am ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee), who had been listed as questionable, is officially active for Week 17 versus the Atlanta Falcons. The 24-year-old missed back-to-back practices earlier in the week but managed to return in a limited capacity on Friday. He was trending in the right direction prior to kickoff but underwent a pregame workout to confirm his status. Indeed, Kmet will suit up and figures to remain a key part of the Bears' passing attack. After some early-season inconsistencies, the tight end has come on quite strong, catching 21 passes for 239 yards and one touchdown over his last four games. He ranks seventh among tight ends in fantasy points this season and should continue to be started in most leagues during the penultimate week of the regular season.

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee) has returned to practice and was a limited participant during Friday's session. He missed the first two practices of the week, but a return on Friday is a good sign. Kmet is currently listed as questionable for the Week 17 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. He has been an important piece to their roster all season long. The absence of Kmet would be a big hit to this offense. If he sits, Marcedes Lewis and Robert Tonyan would see an increase in snaps. Neither of them are viable streaming choices for this weekend's slate. Fantasy managers will have to check back later this weekend for another update on Kmet.

Dec 28 2:40pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee) did not practice for the second day in a row on Thursday. Kmet is nursing a knee injury suffered in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals. His early departure from that game spoiled a solid effort wherein he had four catches for 107 yards up to the point of his injury. If Kmet is unable to play in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals then Marcedes Lewis (rest) and Robert Tonyan would see more time on the field and possibly earn extra targets. Neither backup should be trusted as a streamer for fantasy managers vying for a championship this weekend.

Dec 27 12:30pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (knee) will not practice on Wednesday after injuring his knee in the Week 16 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Before his injury on Sunday, Kmet played well in a good matchup with four catches for 107 yards on five targets. Receiver Darnell Mooney is in the league's concussion protocol as well, so if neither player is able to practice this week, the Bears pass-catching depth behind DJ Moore is going to be very thin against the visiting Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. If Kmet cannot play this Sunday, both Marcedes Lewis and Robert Tonyan would have bigger pass-catching roles for the Bears, although neither tight end would be a recommended streamer in fantasy during championship week in most leagues.

Dec 25 11:00am ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet had a standout performance in the team's 27-16 victory over the Cardinals, catching four of five targets for a team-high 107 yards. Despite leaving the game with a knee injury and not returning, the 24-year-old set a season-high in passing yards. Notably, Kmet has scored at least 10 PPR points in four straight games, showcasing his reliability with Fields under center. In a game where Chicago played primarily from ahead and relied on the run, Kmet emerged as a key playmaker in the passing game. Looking forward to Week 17 against the Falcons, who allow the eighth-most points per game to tight ends, Kmet's status throughout the week will be crucial to monitor. If he suits up, he remains a solid play, building on his recent impressive performances.

Dec 24 8:20am ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (quadricep) is expected to suit up versus the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday despite being listed as questionable, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The young tight end was trending in the right direction after logging a limited practice on Friday. He has been quite impressive over the last three weeks, catching 17 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown during that span. Fantasy managers should feel confident deploying him as a low-end TE1 option in Week 16.

Dec 22 3:20pm ET

Chicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman (personal) and tight end Cole Kmet (quad) are officially questionable to play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16. Both players practiced in a limited capacity on Friday. Foreman has produced mixed results over the last two weeks, ultimately totaling just 44 yards on 17 carries during that span. Even if active this week, it would be tough to trust him in fantasy lineups. Kmet, on the other hand, is a fringe TE1 option in most leagues. He has double-digit fantasy points in three consecutive games and found the end zone last weekend.

Dec 21 3:40pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (quadriceps) was added to the Week 16 injury report on Thursday after he put in a limited practice. Kmet must have injured himself in practice on Thursday, so his status on Friday will be of added significance as the team gets ready to face the visiting Arizona Cardinals this Sunday. His fantasy stock has been on the rise of late as a low-end TE1 after catching five passes for 23 yards and his sixth touchdown of the year in last week's loss to the Cleveland Browns. However, his availability for Week 16 is now somewhat in question. If Kmet's injury is serious enough to keep him sidelined this weekend, Marcedes Lewis and Robert Tonyan would see more playing time for the Bears offense.

Dec 17 9:10pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet ended his four-game scoreless streak with a touchdown catch in Week 15 during the team's 20-17 loss to the Browns. Despite catching five of seven targets, the 24-year-old finished with just 23 yards, with his fantasy day salvaged by the crucial score. In the challenging weather conditions in Cleveland, the Bears' offense struggled, mustering only 236 total yards. Kmet, leading the team in catches, wasn't utilized downfield much, and there was limited room after the catch. Looking ahead to Week 16, the Bears face the Cardinals, who have allowed the eighth-fewest points per game to tight ends this season. The Notre Dame alum remains a significant part of the passing attack, but he needs to accumulate more yardage or consistently find the endzone to produce.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 12:40pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet ranks as the TE6 in PPR formats this season, averaging 11.23 points per game. The Notre Dame alum has had six or more targets in five of the last six games, including in Week 14, where he caught five passes for 66 yards. Kmet's best game of the season came with Fields at quarterback in Week 4, where he caught two touchdowns, and the offense has been at its best over the last few weeks. The Bears take on the Browns in Week 15, who are a nightmare for tight ends. They allow the fewest points per game to tight ends this season, but prolific tight ends like Mark Andrews and Evan Engram have had very productive games in Cleveland this year. Kmet remains a solid volume-based start in Week 15 as an option who should see six to eight targets. He'll look to get his first touchdown since Week 9 against a stingy Browns defense.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 10:00pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet continues to produce in 2023, marking his seventh game this year with at least seven targets. In the team's 28-13 Week 14 win over the Lions, the 24-year-old caught five of seven targets for 66 yards. Kmet has received at least seven targets in five of the last six games, which bodes well for him in PPR formats. The Notre Dame alum hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 9 but has posted at least 10 PPR points in each of the last two weeks. While high yardage may not be expected, his consistent target volume makes him a reliable play with significant upside if he can find the end zone. Facing the Browns in Week 15, who allow the fewest points per game to tight ends this year, Kmet has a challenging matchup, but his integral role in the offense could still make him a decent option.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 1:10pm ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet showcased a strong rebound in Week 12, amassing seven catches for 43 yards after enduring two consecutive games with less than 10 PPR points. The 24-year-old has consistently received at least six targets in seven out of the 11 games this year, establishing himself as a reliable option in the Bears' offense, irrespective of the quarterback situation. Currently ranked as TE7 in PPR formats, Kmet maintains an average of 11.2 points per game. As the Bears gear up to face the Lions in Week 14, who allow the ninth-most points to tight ends this season, Kmet is poised for another impactful performance. In their Week 11 clash, the Notre Dame alum caught three of four targets for 20 yards, a result of the Bears maintaining a lead for most of the game. With his recent consistency, Kmet stands as a solid starting tight end option for Week 14.

From RotoBaller

Nov 28 10:20am ET

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet caught all seven of his targets for 43 yards in the team's 12-10 win over the Vikings in Week 12. This was the fourth time this season the Notre Dame alum finished with more than five catches in a game, but he was limited to just 43 yards, and 24 of those came on one reception. The 24-year-old trailed only DJ Moore in targets and has seen seven or more targets in four of the last five games. His production has been pretty stable with both Tyson Bagent and Justin Fields under center, but his ceiling is higher with Fields because of how much Fields elevates the offense's potential. The Bears are off in Week 13 and get the Lions again in Week 14, who allow the 13th-most points per game to tight ends this year. Kmet remains a solid TE1 option going forward.
