Jacobs had a great first season with the Packers, serving as the focal point of the offense many weeks. He had 1,671 total yards and 16 touchdowns, finishing sixth overall in fantasy running back scoring. Jacobs had double-digit fantasy points all but a game. He had eight games with 20-plus points. Jacobs was second in football in broken tackles (35) and averaged 2.4 yards per carry after contact. He was a load to bring down on a weekly basis. Jacobs should continue to lead the Packers backfield and get a lot of work in that role. Jacobs has 1,000-yard rushing season four of his six seasons in the NFL. Jacobs has emerged as a top three-down back. Jacobs is a good one-cut back that can get downhill in a hurry. He sets up his blocks well and can get to the next level in a hurry. Jacobs does well in blitz pickup and can get it done in the passing game, having 50-plus catches two of four seasons.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Jacobs is a top-10 fantasy back in this offense, capable of improving on last year's numbers. Remember, the Packers offense struggled at times last year. Consider him a solid No. 1 for fantasy teams. Look for around 1,800 total yards, 15 touchdowns and around 50 receptions.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs exceeded all expectations in his first season with the team. After signing a four-year deal with the Packers during the 2024 offseason, the team leaned on him in the running game throughout the season. Jacobs ran 301 times for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns across 17 games. He was also a factor in the passing game after catching 36 passes for 342 yards and one touchdown. All that made the 27-year-old one of the best fantasy running backs in 2024. He finished as the RB6 in PPR formats and averaged 17.2 PPR fantasy points per game. Jacobs also had a stretch from Week 7 to Week 16, where he scored above 20 PPR fantasy points in eight of nine games. As a result, Jacobs will remain a strong RB1 option for fantasy managers in 2025. While some touchdown regression could be coming following a career-high 16 scores, the former Alabama product will still be a workhorse back in this offense. He was just one of six running backs to see at least 300 carries last season. With second-year running back MarShawn Lloyd not really a threat to Jacobs' workload, fantasy managers can select him with confidence early in drafts.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs enjoyed a productive first season with the organization in 2024, rushing 301 times for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns to go along with 36 receptions for 342 yards and one score through the air. The former first-round pick out of Alabama looked like he could be headed for a decline in his last of five seasons with the Raiders in 2023, but his improved offensive environment proved to be significant. Packers running back coach Ben Sirmans gave Jacobs praise in a media availability on Wednesday. "He looks even better this year than he did last year at this point," Sirmans said. "His quickness right now, cutting ability going through the drills, he looks better than he did last year at this time." Jacobs finished as the RB5 in half-PPR setups last year, so the positive report is promising heading into next season. He should be firmly in the RB1 mix again for fantasy football purposes.

Per Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs told 97.3 The Game that he thinks his team should invest in a true standout WR1 moving forward. "We've got a really young group of receivers. All can be really, really, really special," said Jacobs. "But I think personally we need a guy...that we know is going to be a little bit more consistent." Green Bay enjoyed much success this season -- finishing 11-6 -- but could not gain any traction in the playoffs. Despite the Packers bolstering four wideouts aged 25 or younger that eclipsed 400 receiving yards in 2024, none of them reached the 1,000-yard mark. However, Green Bay did rank eighth in the league with 26.1 points per game and lost their best deep threat (WR Christian Watson) to a late-season ACL injury. We'll see if the Pack move to secure a new alpha with a few big-name free-agent wideouts available in 2025, such as Tee Higgins, Cooper Kupp, and Amari Cooper.
