According to Cincinnati Bengals beat writer Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, the team's internal options at quarterback are "not in consideration" to replace current starter Jake Browning in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers. As such, any potential replacement would have to come from outside the building. In three starts since replacing Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (toe) under center, Browning has thrown for 516 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions while leading the team to an 0-3 record. However, it does not appear Cincinnati has confidence in current backup QB Brett Rypien or practice squad QB options Mike White and Sean Clifford. Most likely, Browning will be the signal-caller in a difficult Week 6 matchup against the Packers.

Dynasty | Bengals quarterback Jake Browning completed 26-of-40 passes for 251 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in a loss to the Lions. Dynasty Analysis: At first glance, that line really isn't awful. However, the Bengals were down 28-3 with Browning having thrown all three of his interceptions before he had his first scoring strike in a game that had been pretty much decided. Browning now has six touchdowns and eight interceptions on the season and hasn't provided any kind of spark as the Bengals have lost their last three games by a combined score of 113-37. In short, this is a team that needs to either make a change quickly or risk their entire season evaporating before Halloween. Browning himself has lost any dynasty value he once had.

Oct 6 10:50am CT

Per ESPN's Ben Baby, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor sounded "open to the possibility of a quarterback change" after another poor showing by veteran signal-caller Jake Browning. When asked if he still believes in Browning moving forward, Taylor replied, "After a game like that, we're going to look at all personnel to make sure we're doing the right thing." Taylor also noted that he still believes the 29-year-old can "win games for us," but it's fair to wonder if his time is running short after a third multi-interception performance in four outings. As for a potential replacement, Cincinnati currently boasts Brett Rypien on its active roster, along with Mike White and Sean Clifford on the practice squad. If the Bengals do opt to go in another direction, it wouldn't be surprising to see them do so from outside the organization. He won't be a recommended fantasy option until stringing together a few more promising outings.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Cincinnati Bengals are still not in the market to acquire another quarterback despite the team's struggles without franchise quarterback Joe Burrow (toe). In Burrow's absence, the Bengals have turned to backup Jake Browning, but have been blown out in consecutive weeks. The former Washington star is completing 64% of his passes and has thrown five interceptions compared to three touchdown passes in three games this year, though the team remains confident he can replicate 2023, when he went 4-3 as a starter with Burrow on injured reserve. With several veterans like Kirk Cousins or Russell Wilson plausibly available, Cincinnati appears content to stick with Browning, who can be a fringe Superflex option given the right week-to-week matchup.

Oct 4 12:20pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning is searching for a bounce-back performance after two rough outings in relief of Joe Burrow. Browning has completed 33 of 52 passes for 265 yards with just one touchdown against two interceptions since taking over. The Bengals' offense has sputtered badly under his command, ranking 30th in points per game (15.3) and last in the NFL in total yards per game (205.3). With Burrow expected to miss the next three months, the pressure on Browning has only intensified, as many speculate they should add another quarterback. Week 5 brings a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions, who have allowed the 12th-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks despite already facing Lamar Jackson, Caleb Williams, and Jordan Love. Fantasy managers should firmly sit Browning this week, as his performance against Detroit could go a long way in determining whether he holds the starting job moving forward.

Oct 1 1:40pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor doubled down on his support for quarterback Jake Browning on Wednesday, stating, "I've got a ton of confidence in Jake. I'm unwavering in that." The Bengals have dropped back-to-back games, scoring just 13 total points in the process, fueling speculation about a possible trade to address their offensive struggles. However, Taylor's comments suggest the team will remain committed to Browning for now. The 29-year-old quarterback owns a 67.9 passer rating this season, while star receiver Ja'Marr Chase has been limited to 73 yards on 10 catches over the last two weeks. With the Bengals built to win now, Browning's leash may be short if the offensive woes continue, but for the moment, the organization appears determined to stay the course with him at the helm.

Dynasty | Bengals quarterback Jake Browning completed just 14-of-25 passes for 125 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in a loss to Denver. Dynasty Analysis: Browning hasn't played well since taking over for Joe Burrow but also looks like he's playing on a team that has simply quit on the season. The entire offense is a disaster and they are also giving up points in rapid succession. Browning will attempt to get back on track next week, barring a trade for someone else to take his spot. Regardless, he's way off the dynasty radar at this point.

Sep 27 12:20pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning will look to get the team back on track with a win over the Broncos on Monday night. With Joe Burrow (toe) out of the equation, Browning has gotten some action in the last two weeks. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old hasn't played well, combining for 381 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions off 40-for-59 passing. Granted, the offense wasn't operating the best even with Burrow under center. Still, Browning is hard to trust in Week 4 and beyond, and that won't change anytime soon until the offense can get on the same page. Keep the signal-caller out of all fantasy lineups.

Dynasty | Bengals quarterback Jake Browning completed 19-of-27 passes for 140 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in a blowout loss to Minnesota. Dynasty Analysis: This was alarming as the Bengals were destroyed 48-10 and looked like a team that has given up after losing Joe Burrow. Browning himself was awful on the day and showed little to make anyone believe he can be an option in dynasty leagues, despite having talent all around him. This was about as bad as it gets.

Sep 20 7:50am CT

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning will get the start in Week 3 versus the Vikings. With Joe Burrow (toe) out at least three months, Browning could remain in the role for the rest of the 2025 campaign. The 29-year-old took over in the Week 2 narrow win over the Jags after Burrow went down, finishing with 241 yards off 21-for-32 passing (65.6%). Although he added two touchdowns through the air, he also tossed three picks. With Cincinnati sitting at 2-0, Browning will try to keep the team in the win column on Sunday. The signal-caller started seven times in 2023, throwing for 1,868 yards, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. While his statistical contributions weren't the worst, there was certainly room for improvement. With so many ailing quarterbacks in Week 3, Browning is worth starting in Superflex formats, considering he has Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Chase Brown in his arsenal. He also can provide value for those participating in DFS contests. However, Browning may not be the safest option in single-QB setups. That won't change moving ahead unless he proves he can be more productive and mistake-free.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning is expected to take over as the starter for the foreseeable future after Joe Burrow (toe) was ruled out for at least the next three months with turf toe. Browning entered in the second quarter of Week 2 and led the Bengals to a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, completing 21 of 32 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns. The 28-year-old started seven games in 2023, where he impressed by completing over 70% of his passes while averaging 266.9 yards per game with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. While turnovers remain a concern, Browning has shown enough efficiency to keep Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins near the top of the rankings at the WR position. He should be rostered in all Superflex formats and can be viewed as a mid-to-low QB2 over the next three months.

From RotoBaller

Sep 15 10:00am CT

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning could see an extended run as his team's starting quarterback with the news that Joe Burrow (toe) will require surgery on his injured toe and may miss three months. Browning replaced Burrow in the second quarter of Cincinnati's Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and finished the game by completing 21 of 32 pass attempts for 241 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also logged a one-yard rushing touchdown. Browning had an extended run as the injury replacement for Burrow in 2023 and performed adequately from a fantasy perspective. In seven starts, Browning completed 70.4% of his 243 pass attempts for 1,936 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also showed a little bit of juice with his legs, rushing for 127 yards and three touchdowns. Browning has an explosive supporting cast of pass-catchers to work with in Cincinnati and could be a startable fantasy quarterback going forward as a streamer or injury replacement, particularly in Superflex formats.
