Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson concluded his disappointing second season in the NFL with just two receptions on three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 38-10 blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the final game of the regular season. It was an improvement following his third zero-catch game of the year in Week 17 in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but Dotson was ultimately a big disappointment in 2023 after many fantasy experts predicted a breakout season in his second year in the league. He totaled 49 receptions on 83 targets for 518 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games, a slight step back from when he had a 35-523-7 line in 12 games as a rookie. Dotson and the rest of Washington's offense suffered from quarterback Sam Howell's struggles, and it could be an uphill battle for fantasy relevance again in 2024 with a new coaching staff coming in to replace Ron Rivera.

Jan 5 4:10pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson offers little intrigue during Week 18. This week, the Commanders will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys. While that is a tough opponent for Washington, the matchup doesn't matter for Dotson, as he's not seeing much opportunity in this offense, anyway. Despite appearing in four more games this year than he did as a rookie, the second-year receiver still hasn't surpassed his receiving yardage total from last season. Maybe he'll bounce back next year, but for now, Dotson is not a player who should be trusted for the final week of the regular season.

Jan 1 3:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson wasn't a strong play in Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers and their smothering defense. In the 27-10 loss, Dotson only saw one target in the passing game and didn't come down with it. The 23-year-old was picked by many to have a breakout in his second NFL season, but it hasn't come. He's mostly been underwhelming with 47 receptions on 80 targets for 501 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games played. Veteran Curtis Samuel has taken valuable targets and production away from Dotson in a pass-happy Commanders offense, as well as Terry McLaurin. Since his last touchdown reception in Week 11, Dotson has only 10 catches on 17 targets for 118 yards and no scores. The former first-rounder is impossible to trust in fantasy lineups for a Week 18 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

Dec 29 4:10pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson is not a player most should rely on heading into a Week 17 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. In his last three games, the second-year receiver hasn't topped three receptions once while looking like more of a role player for Washington. To make matters worse, starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) might not be available for this game. That would put struggling quarterback Sam Howell back in the driver's seat while downgrading the outlooks for all weapons in this offense. Even if Brissett suits up, Dotson is a player who should remain on waivers during Week 17.

Dec 22 2:40pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson should not be in starting lineups in Week 16. This week, the Commanders are taking on the New York Jets, a team currently allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers this season. Not only is the matchup an issue, but Dotson doesn't even see consistent enough usage to be considered a semi-reliable option. Considering the tough matchup and lack of usage for most of this season, you're likely in trouble if you have to rely on Dotson during the fantasy playoffs in Week 16.

Dec 18 9:40am ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson earned just one target, catching it for 12 yards in the team's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Washington was largely unable to stop Los Angeles in the first half and didn't string together any successful drives themselves. That led to a 20-0 hole, which, in theory, should have benefited Dotson. He didn't see his first target until midway through the fourth quarter when the Commanders switched from Sam Howell to backup Jacoby Brissett. The latter propelled Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel to big games in limited time, but Dotson remained an afterthought. He now ranks third on the team in targets this season and does not need to be rostered in redraft formats.

Dec 15 6:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson has been tough to rely on this season, and it should be more of the same in Week 15. This week, the Commanders are heading on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams. With the Rams having a strong offense, the Commanders will likely need to rely on the pass to keep up once again. Although Washington has been the most pass-heavy team in the NFL this season, the distribution of targets has been too unpredictable. So, while Dotson could pay off, he should only be considered an option for managers in desperate situations. Consider the second-year wideout a low-end flex in Week 15.

Dec 4 10:00am ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson caught two of his five targets for 23 yards in the team's 45-15 blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins. The Commanders, unsurprisingly, fell behind quickly to one of the best offenses in the league. Instead of throwing to try and catch up, Ron Rivera stayed committed to the running game. Sam Howell only ended up throwing 23 passes, completing 12 of them. The Commanders take their bye in Week 14 (the final bye week of the season). Dotson has been a disappointment for the majority of the season and does not need to be rostered through the bye in standard-sized leagues. The Rams, Jets, and 49ers are on the schedule when they return to play.

Dec 1 6:00pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson is a risky play in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins. For the Commanders, this matchup offers an outlook similar to their Week 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys. With their lackluster defense, there is a solid chance they fall behind early and rely on their pass game to keep up. That could mean good things for Dotson, but he's been hard to rely on as a consistent option due to his sporadic usage while regressing to the third option in Washington's wide receiver room. Although he has some upside in a likely negative game script, the second-year receiver offers too much risk. Consider him a low-end flex in Week 13.

Nov 23 9:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson caught five of six targets for 52 yards during Thursday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys. After a relatively quiet start to the season, the 23-year-old has found increased success as of late, logging 20 receptions and three touchdowns over his last five games. He should benefit from a negative game script against the Miami Dolphins next week, keeping him in the fantasy WR4 tier.

Nov 22 2:50pm ET

Despite scoring a touchdown in three of his last four games, Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson doesn't warrant starting consideration in Week 12. On Thanksgiving, the Commanders are taking on the Dallas Cowboys, one of the best defenses in the NFL. While the tough matchup is an issue, another problem is that Dotson isn't even seeing targets anyway. Whenever the former first-rounder has had success this season, it's been when fellow wide receiver Curtis Samuel hasn't been available, and that was seen last week when he was ejected from the game. Assuming Samuel isn't ejected again, Dotson probably won't see enough work to be considered an option. With little upside, he's a player that should be left on benches in Week 12.

Nov 19 5:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson caught three-of-four targets for 23 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. After putting up a goose egg in Week 10, things seemed to be heading in that direction for Dotson again in Week 11. Fortunately for him, he had some involvement in the second half, including an eight-yard receiving touchdown that brought Washington within six points of the Giants. The touchdown is nice, but Dotson is far from a trustworthy fantasy option due to his up-and-down involvement. With the Dallas Cowboys on schedule in Week 12, consider him a bench piece for most rosters.

Nov 17 5:40pm ET

Coming off a performance where he hauled in a whopping zero receptions, Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson will look to rebound in Week 11. Luckily, there are few matchups better than the one the Commanders drew, as they have the fortune of playing the New York Giants. Against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10, the Giants allowed huge performances to both wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. It's going to be hard for Washington to top what Dallas did to the Giants, but there's a good chance that they have plenty of success in the passing game against this weak defense. With a great matchup on the way, consider Dotson a flex play with upside in Week 11.

Nov 13 1:00pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson had zero receptions on two targets during Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. After looking like a player rejuvenated over the past two weeks, Dotson came out in Week 10 and laid an egg. He wasn't alone, as the rest of Washington's pass catchers struggled to gain separation against Seattle's talented cornerbacks as well. A big zero in the scoring column is demoralizing, but the second-year receiver is still running plenty of routes for this offense. He looks like a boom-bust option, but a Week 11 game against the woeful New York Giants could quickly launch him back into relevancy. With that favorable upcoming matchup, don't give up on Dotson just yet. A bounce-back performance could be right around the corner.

Nov 10 6:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson has been on a roll lately. While starting the season on a dismal seven-week stretch, he seems to have picked things up over the past two weeks with a combined 12 receptions for 177 yards and two touchdowns. The question now is whether he can keep this strong play up. With the Seattle Seahawks on deck in Week 10, there is a decent chance that he can. In terms of fantasy points allowed to wide receivers, the Seahawks rank 20th. Their below-average defense coincided with the Commanders' pass-happy offense makes the second-year wideout an intriguing play. Consider Dotson a WR2 against the Seahawks in Week 10.

Nov 8 8:10pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson (personal) missed practice on Wednesday for personal reasons but is expected to return on Thursday. There shouldn't be any doubt as to whether Dotson will play this Sunday in Week 10 against the Seahawks on the road in Seattle. After a very slow start to his second NFL season when many were projecting a Year 2 breakout, the 23-year-old pass-catcher has come alive with 12 receptions on 18 targets for 177 yards and two touchdowns the last two games against the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots. It has coincided with Curtis Samuel injuring his toe in Week 8, so if Samuel is able to return this weekend, Dotson could have trouble finding the end zone for the third straight week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 5 5:00pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson caught four-of-eight targets for 69 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's win over the New England Patriots. Despite struggling mightily to start the season, Dotson has now put together two straight solid performances for this Washington offense. This could be the start of the former first-rounder turning the corner on a mostly frustrating season. The question with Dotson is if the eventual return of fellow wide receiver Curtis Samuel (toe) hinders his involvement. For now, though, the second-year receiver seems to be heading in the right direction. We'll see if he can keep it up against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10.

From RotoBaller

Nov 3 5:40pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson is coming off a long-awaited strong performance in Week 8. Now in Week 9, the second-year receiver may have a chance at building upon that outing against the New England Patriots. Fellow Washington wide receiver Curtis Samuel (toe) was hobbled last week, and he's recently been ruled out for Week 9. Considering Dotson's great stat line coincided with Samuel being in and out of the lineup, he may be in for a similar performance against the Patriots. With more valuable targets likely on the way, Dotson should be started as a solid flex option this week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 29 4:30pm ET

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson caught eight-of-10 targets for 108 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. After weeks of disappointment for the second-year receiver, he finally showed out during Week 8. Despite not topping 50 receiving yards once this year, Dotson went over 100 today while leading Washington in receiving. Hopefully, this is the start of a new beginning for the former first-rounder, because he's shown too much talent not to see work in this offense. Dotson will aim to carry momentum from this performance over into the Commanders' Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots.

From RotoBaller

Oct 29 4:30pm ET

Commanders' WR Jahan Dotson had 8 receptions for 108 yards with one touchdown in Sunday's loss against the Eagles.
