Darren Waller's expected retirement could open the door for Daniel Bellinger to become the New York Giants' No. 1 tight end in 2024 like he was as a rookie. Bellinger's receiving opportunities were limited by Waller's presence last year, but the addition of veteran blocking tight ends this offseason should allow Bellinger to be featured more as a receiver in his third season in the league. The 23-year-old former fourth-round pick in 2022 out of San Diego State has caught 55 of his 63 targets for 523 yards and two touchdowns in his two seasons with the G-Men. If Waller hangs up his cleats as things seem to be trending, Bellinger could be a decent under-the-radar TE2 target in deeper fantasy leagues this fall.

Dec 30 11:20am ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger tallied four catches for 43 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles last week, but it's highly unlikely he'll replicate those numbers against the Los Angeles Rams. Both of those were season-high marks and the second-year professional sits behind Darren Waller on the tight end depth chart. The Giants' offense ranks second to last in points per game (14.3) and doesn't have much consistency at the quarterback position. Bellinger doesn't belong on rosters in any format, except deep dynasty leagues.

Dec 16 10:30am ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger has been a mainstay in the starting lineup with Darren Waller (hamstring) on injured reserve. The second-year tight end caught 12 passes for 138 yards in five games without New York's prized offseason addition. Waller is expected to make his return to the starting lineup on Sunday. If he does, however, he's not expected to play his regular allotment of snaps. Bellinger may see a few more opportunities for one more week, but his window as the TE1 in New York is shutting. Regardless, he didn't make the most of his chance, at least in the fantasy football realm, and shouldn't be rostered outside of dynasty formats.

Dec 11 7:30pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Parris Campbell (knee) is officially inactive on Monday night with the team getting set to face the Green Bay Packers. Campbell injured his knee late last week at practice and was considered questionable to play in Week 14. Meanwhile, tight end Daniel Bellinger, who was also listed as questionable due to an illness, will play. Campbell's absence doesn't really move the needle at all in fantasy, as he has only 20 receptions for 104 yards and no touchdowns in 12 games in his first year in New York in 2023. Gunner Olszewski should serve as the team's kick returner with the 26-year-old sidelined for the first time all year. Bellinger isn't very attractive as a TE streamer, either, catching nine passes for 123 yards and no scores with Darren Waller (hamstring) out.

Dec 9 3:00pm ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger (illness) is questionable for Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers with an illness. Bellinger has missed two straight practices with the illness but he still has a chance to suit up for MNF in Week 14 because he'll get an extra day of rest to get healthy. The second-year tight end has just 13 catches on the season so his potential absence or presence has very little fantasy impact.

Dec 9 12:30am ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger (illness) didn't practice on Friday. He's under the weather, so Saturday's practice session could tell a lot about his availability for Monday night's showdown with the Packers. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old hasn't played well all season, catching three passes or less in all his appearances. He also hasn't found the end zone. With this in mind, Bellinger should be left out of fantasy lineups even if he is active in Week 14.

Nov 25 10:50am ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger is slated to be the featured tight end for the fourth straight week due to the absence of Darren Waller (hamstring). Unfortunately, his production hasn't matched that of a starting tight end. The sophomore has drawn just three targets in all three games, totaling eight catches for 115 yards. That would be a great stat line for one game. It isn't even on the fantasy football radar when spread across three games. It remains to be seen if Waller will return from injured reserve following the New York bye week. Regardless, Bellinger does not need to be added or started on fantasy football rosters.

Nov 19 9:10pm ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger caught all three of his targets for 38 yards in the team's 31-19 win over the Washington Commanders. The stat line is becoming the norm for Bellinger while Darren Waller (hamstring) sits on injured reserve. He's logged three targets in every game that the starter has missed. While consistent, the numbers aren't flashy at all, and Bellinger won't be a hot commodity at the position anytime soon. The Giants host the New England Patriots in Week 12 and Bellinger will get at least one more shot at being the starter. Waller is eligible to come off of injured reserve after New York's bye week, but it remains to be seen if he'll be healthy enough to do so.

Nov 18 10:40am ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger is coming off of a game where he led the team in receiving yards, but the total didn't send fantasy managers running to the waiver wire to pick him up. Bellinger caught just two passes for 34 yards. The Giants' aerial offense continued their abysmal play against Dallas. The opportunity for improvement is there against the Commanders, who allow the fourth-most passing yards per game. However, there is still no trust in any pass-catching option in the New York offense as long as undrafted rookie Tommy Devito is under center. Bellinger will continue to start in place of Darren Waller (hamstring) but he can remain on the waiver wire across all formats.

Nov 12 9:50pm ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger caught two passes for 34 yards in the team's 49-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. A 26-yard snag late in the fourth quarter pushed his numbers to the top of the Giants' box score. All New York receiving options totaled just 86 yards. The entire passing attack is inept with undrafted rookie Tommy Devito under center. Bellinger will have at least two more opportunities to start with Darren Waller (hamstring) on injured reserve. However, there's no reason to roster the sophomore with the struggles from DeVito and the rest of the passing game.

Nov 10 5:10pm ET

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger will log another start in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys with Darren Waller (hamstring) on injured reserve. The second-year pro set his season-high marks in catches (3) and yards (43) against the Raiders in Week 9. A similar output may be on the docket this Sunday. Bellinger isn't a dynamic threat in the receiving game and will have undrafted rookie Tommy Devito under center. Bellinger is just a desperation option at the tight end position for Week 10.
