Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth logged six receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in a 44-38 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. Freiermuth led the team in targets and tied for the team lead in catches on Sunday while making his fourth trip to the end zone of the season. He was largely uninvolved when Russell Wilson first took over at quarterback but has been more of a focal point in recent weeks, specifically near the red zone. The 26-year-old will carry some fantasy value as a streaming option into a Week 14 meeting with the Cleveland Browns.

Nov 30 1:20am CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth showed signs of life for fantasy purposes last week and will look to stay involved in a Week 13 meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati has given up plenty of production through the air this season and has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. For what it's worth, Freiermuth has played quite well against the Bengals throughout his career and posted a career-high 120 receiving yards against them in Week 12 of the 2023 campaign. He is an intriguing fantasy streaming candidate in this matchup, but with no teams on bye this week, there are likely better options available for starting lineups.

From RotoBaller

Nov 22 10:40am CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth finished with four receptions for 59 yards on four targets in a Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Although he didn't have a great fantasy performance, Freiermuth managed his highest yardage total of the campaign and was more involved offensively than in previous contests with Russell Wilson under center. The 26-year-old cannot be relied upon in most redraft leagues but could be an interesting streaming candidate down the stretch with plenty of enticing matchups coming up. He'll look to earn more opportunities against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Nov 20 7:10pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has done very little for fantasy over the past six weeks but will look to bounce back in a divisional bout with the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. The Browns look like a favorable matchup for tight ends on paper, but Taysom Hill's monstrous showing last week accounts for nearly 35% of the points Cleveland has allowed to the position this season. Only two other tight ends have managed top-10 finishes against the Browns in 2024. Freiermuth does not seem to have a reliable role in Pittsburgh's offense with quarterback Russell Wilson targeting fellow tight end Darnell Washington twice more than Freiermuth since taking over for Justin Fields in Week 7. Even with a few big names on bye this week, fantasy managers should not rely on Freiermuth as there are likely better replacement options available on waivers.

Nov 17 5:20pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth logged two receptions for 14 yards on two targets in an 18-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Freiermuth, who found the end zone last week, continued to have a limited role in the Steelers' offense led by quarterback Russell Wilson. He gained fewer than 20 yards for a third straight game and ceded four opportunities to second-year tight end Darnell Washington. Fantasy managers who drafted Freiermuth likely aren't still relying on him at this point in the season. He can be dropped in most redraft formats and should not be viewed as a viable option against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Nov 15 7:20pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth salvaged his Week 10 performance with a touchdown and will hope to earn more opportunities when facing the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The Ravens, who have been extremely vulnerable to the pass all season, give up the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Although Freiermuth is averaging fewer than three targets per contest with Russell Wilson at quarterback, he should be on the fantasy radar this week given this enticing game environment with a 48.5-point over/under. It's difficult to trust Freiermuth as a fantasy TE1, but he can be considered a streaming option or high-end TE2 for Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 11:10pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth recorded three receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown on three targets in a Week 10 victory against the Washington Commanders. Freiermuth, after a strong start to the campaign, has been utilized sparingly with Russell Wilson under center, but it was promising to see him earn an opportunity near the goal line in the second quarter. The three-yard score was Freiermuth's first from Wilson and his third on the season. While his role in the offense has been far too inconsistent to consider him a weekly fantasy option, Freiermuth could be a streaming candidate in the right matchups. That said, he has a great opportunity next week against the Baltimore Ravens, who give up plenty of fantasy production to tight ends.

From RotoBaller

Nov 8 8:50pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth was a solid contributor to begin the season but has been incredibly quiet for fantasy since Week 6. He'll hope to get back on track against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The Commanders allow the 14th-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, making this a middle-of-the-road matchup for Freiermuth. He is yet to display much chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson outside of a 30-yard reception the duo connected on in Week 7. Fantasy managers should not be relying on Freiermuth in most formats this week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 28 11:40pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth came down with both of his two targets for 19 receiving yards in a 26-18 win over the New York Giants. It was an underwhelming showing for Freiermuth on Monday night after seemingly all tight ends dominated on Sunday. Fellow tight end Darnell Washington out-gained Freiermuth despite earning just one opportunity in the contest. Freiermuth has not been targeted frequently by quarterback Russell Wilson after seeing more consistent usage with Justin Fields under center through the first six weeks of the campaign. With the Steelers heading into a Week 9 bye, Freiermuth can be dropped in most formats and should be viewed as just a streaming option going forward.

From RotoBaller

Oct 26 1:40pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has been underwhelming in recent weeks and will look to get back on track against the New York Giants in Week 8. With Russell Wilson under center, Pittsburgh's passing attack was much more exciting last week, but Freiermuth ceded a surprising amount of opportunities to fellow tight end Darnell Washington. The Giants have been stout against opposing tight ends all season, surrendering the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Because this contest is expected to be slow-paced and Freiermuth seems to have only a few guaranteed targets, it will be difficult for fantasy managers to rely on him as anything more than a TE2 on Monday night.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 11:40pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth logged two receptions for 51 yards on three targets in a 37-15 win over the New York Jets. Freiermuth was surprisingly given fewer opportunities than fellow tight end Darnell Washington, who earned a career-high four targets. Still, Freiermuth outgained Washington and was extremely effective with limited touches. He turned a short completion from Russell Wilson into a 30-yard gain in the second quarter and later came down with a 21-yard deep ball. Pittsburgh's passing attack was more aggressive and fast-paced with Wilson at the helm, which should prove beneficial to Freiermuth going forward. He'll remain on the fantasy radar for a Week 8 meeting with the New York Giants.

From RotoBaller

Oct 18 11:50pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth is currently the fantasy TE9 in half-PPR scoring and will hope to stay steady against the New York Jets in Week 7. Freiermuth is playing on the vast majority of offensive snaps and has been the second-most targeted Steelers pass-catcher through the first six weeks of the season. Of course, all of these opportunities have come with Justin Fields under center, and there seems to be a strong possibility that Russell Wilson will take over as QB1 on Sunday night. Freiermuth's role in the offense should be consistent either way, but he may struggle to make much of an impact against a Jets defense surrendering the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends. Although fantasy managers that have been rolling with Freiermuth may not have a better option available to them, the 25-year-old should only be viewed as a middling TE2 this week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 13 7:40pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth caught two of his three targets for 16 yards in a 32-13 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Freiermuth was on a two-game touchdown streak heading into the contest but failed to extend it. He came up short of making a significant impact in the passing game with his lowest reception and yardage totals of the campaign. The fourth-year pro is maintaining a role in the offense, but it is difficult to project him for weekly fantasy success with Pittsburgh's passing attack struggling to find its footing. That's unlikely to change in a difficult matchup against the New York Jets in Week 7.

Oct 11 9:40pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (calf) was listed as a full participant for the Steelers' final practice of the week. Freiermuth popped up on the team's injury report on Thursday with a calf designation, but it appears to have only been a minor issue. The 25-year-old is set to resume his TE1 duties when Pittsburgh hits the road to take on the Raiders in Las Vegas. Despite having yet to clear 57 yards in any contest, the former second-round pick has at least four receptions in all but one outing and a touchdown in two straight, working his way to a TE7 ranking in PPR formats. Freiermuth ranks second on his team in targets (23), receptions (20), and yards (178) and has scored the most touchdowns (2) of any Pittsburgh pass-catcher. He'll be a back-end TE1 in the road matchup and is RotoBaller's TE10 in this week's rankings.

Oct 11 9:10pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has scored in back-to-back contests and will hope to keep the streak alive against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. Although Freiermuth was a limited participant in practice on Thursday with a calf injury, he was removed from the injury report on Friday after logging a full practice. Las Vegas has fared well against tight ends so far this season but is yet to face one that has earned as many opportunities as Freiermuth. The 25-year-old is averaging more targets per contest than Sam LaPorta and Mark Andrews and more fantasy points than Travis Kelce, Dalton Kincaid, and Kyle Pitts. His ceiling will be relatively limited if Pittsburgh continues to run the ball at one of the highest rates in the NFL, but as a focal point of the Steelers' offense, Freiermuth offers fantasy managers a steady floor. He can be started once again as a low-end TE1 on Sunday.

From RotoBaller

Oct 10 4:00pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (calf) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice due to a calf injury, according to Nick Farabaugh of PennLive. Freiermuth was not on Wednesday's initial injury report, so this injury is worth monitoring. However, seeing him participate in a limited fashion is a promising sign. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to Friday's injury report, as it will likely provide clarity on the 25-year-old's status heading into the weekend. After not scoring a touchdown through the first three weeks of the season, Freiermuth has found the back of the end zone in consecutive games and remains a low-end TE1 heading into Week 6.

From RotoBaller

Oct 7 1:10pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth came down with all three of his targets for 22 yards and a score in a Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Freiermuth was quiet for much of the contest but was called upon when it mattered most. The 25-year-old was on the receiving end of a six-yard shovel-pass-touchdown from quarterback Justin Fields that put the Steelers up 17-13 with less than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, Freiermuth was credited with a lost fumble on the last play of the game, on which he lateralled the ball in a desperate attempt to score as time expired. Freiermuth has had a sizeable role in the offense all season and has proven to be a threat near the goal line over the past two weeks. He'll continue to project as a low-end TE1 heading into a Week 6 bout with the Las Vegas Raiders.

From RotoBaller

Oct 5 2:40pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth found the end zone in Week 4 and hopes to be similarly productive in a Week 5 bout with the Dallas Cowboys. Freiermuth is enjoying a prominent role in new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's system as the only tight end in the NFL with at least four receptions in all four weeks this season. Although the Cowboys have been stout against opposing tight ends in 2024, Freiermuth's consistent utilization gives him a floor that many players at the position cannot provide for fantasy purposes. He is essential to Pittsburgh's success as a preferred weapon in the passing game second only to receiver George Pickens. Freiermuth may have trouble repeating his success of last week on Sunday night, but fantasy managers can rely on him as a low-end TE1 nonetheless.

Sep 30 1:10am CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth hauled in five of seven targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 4 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. With Pittsburgh hoping to mount a comeback, Freiermuth made an excellent effort play late in the fourth quarter to score on a short pass from signal-caller Justin Fields. It marked the 25-year-old's first touchdown since Week 3 of the 2023 campaign. Freiermuth continues to be a dependable weapon for Fields as the two have connected on at least four passes in every contest this season. He represents consistency at a position that has been mostly devoid of it for fantasy purposes. Because of his utilization, Freiermuth should remain in fantasy consideration next week despite a tough matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

From RotoBaller

Sep 28 1:40am CT

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth is yet to find the end zone or surpass 40 yards receiving in a contest in 2024 but still offers reliability against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4. The fourth-year pro is the only tight end in the NFL to catch at least four passes in every game this season. While it is fair to have concerns regarding Freiermuth's lack of touchdown upside, it is difficult to ignore consistent involvement at a position that has been so devoid of fantasy production as of late. The Colts have surrendered the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, making this a matchup Freiermuth can take advantage of. The 25-year-old can be trusted as a low-end starting option on Sunday.
