Dynasty | The Bengals have signed running back Zack Moss to a two-year, $8 million deal. Dynasty Analysis: And just like that, you have your first real winner in this year's version of free agency frenzy. Moss will slot in to the spot vacated by Joe Mixon (who was subsequently released) and could put up some nice numbers in the process. Any dynasty manager with Moss is going to be waiting on pins and needles as the rest of free agency and the NFL Draft unfolds as he suddenly finds himself in a great situation. If the Bengals don't add a premier running back into the fold, Moss could be a solid RB2 or more next season. Hmm.

Mar 11 10:30pm ET

Former Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss is signing a two-year, $8 million deal with the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday that includes a $4.525 million payout in the first year of the deal in 2024, according to a source. Right after the Bengals announced the signing of Moss, they released former starting RB Joe Mixon, paving the way for Moss to serve as the team's primary RB in 2024. The 26-year-old former third-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2020 out of Utah, Moss had his best season as a professional in 2023 for the Indianapolis Colts while filling in for an injured Jonathan Taylor. Moss had career-highs in carries (183), rushing yards (794), rushing touchdowns (five) and receptions (27) in 14 games played (eight starts). Chase Brown should steal touches in Cincy's backfield, but as things stand now, Moss figures to be a high-end RB2 in a more explosive offense with the Bengals.

Jan 24 7:30pm ET

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent running back Zack Moss said that he would be interested in re-signing with the team this offseason. Moss showed that he still belongs in the league in 2023 when he took advantage of added opportunities with Jonathan Taylor missing time due to injuries. The 26-year-old played in 14 games (eight starts) and was productive with 794 rushing yards and a career-high five touchdowns on 183 rushing attempts, adding 27 receptions on 37 targets for an additional 192 yards and two touchdowns. If Moss does return to the Colts, it will be as the clear backup to Taylor, and he won't be nearly as productive unless Taylor misses more time due to injury. At best, he'll be a handcuff option for fantasy managers that take Taylor in fantasy drafts this fall if he returns to the Colts.

Jan 6 7:50pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) is active ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the Houston Texans. The 26-year-old will make his return to the field after missing the last two games due to a forearm issue. He's expected to split up the role in the backfield with fellow running back Jonathan Taylor. Moss was obviously a much more attractive fantasy option when he was getting a bulk of the carries. Now, DFS players should probably stay away with Taylor back in the mix and the Houston Texans defending well against the running back position.

Jan 6 12:10pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm), who is listed as questionable for Saturday night's showdown against the Houston Texans, is expected to play in Week 18, according to sources. It will be the first time the Colts have had him and Jonathan Taylor together in the backfield since Nov. 26, when they combined for 161 total yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. The 26-year-old Moss has missed the last two games and averaged just 2.56 yards per carry on 36 attempts in his last three starts when Taylor was dealing with a thumb injury. Moss did save his fantasy line with nine catches for 54 yards and a touchdown in that span, but he's not going to be a very attractive DFS piece in the regular season finale if he's active this evening. The Texans defense has also allowed the fourth-fewest half-PPR points per game to RBs in the last five weeks.

Jan 4 5:30pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) is officially listed as questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the division-rival Houston Texans on Saturday evening. Moss was able to put in full practices on Wednesday and Thursday and is on the right side of questionable this week after missing the last two games. Jonathan Taylor is going to remain Indy's primary backfield option in a must-win game on Saturday, but the 26-year-old Moss will return to offer a change-of-pace option for the Colts. Moss had a nice run earlier this year with Taylor still out and managed two 100-yard performances in a three-week span, but he was pretty poor in his last three starts before getting injured, averaging 2.56 yards on 36 carries for 92 rushing yards while adding nine receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown through the air from Weeks 13-15.

Jan 3 9:10pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) practiced fully on Wednesday as his team prepares to take on the Houston Texans on Saturday. Moss has missed the past two games with a forearm injury but he appears to be on track to return to action this weekend. That being said, Jonathan Taylor has resumed his role as the team's lead back, which will push Moss back into a complementary role. The Colts can grab a Wild Card berth in the playoffs if they beat Houston on Saturday, so expect it to be an all-hands-on-deck situation for Indy.

From RotoBaller

Jan 2 8:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) was listed as a limited participant for Tuesday's estimated practice report. A right-forearm injury has kept Moss sidelined for the team's last two games, but the 26-year-old could be on the verge of returning for a Week 18 must-win contest at home against the visiting Houston Texans on Saturday evening. Moss may need to put in a full day of practice in the next two days to be cleared to return. He's had his moments this year for the Colts, even after Jonathan Taylor's return, but he'll most likely be looking at backup work and limited offensive snaps if he returns to play this weekend. If Moss is active against Houston, he'll be hard to trust in fantasy lineups.

Dec 29 1:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that running back Zack Moss (forearm) has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders after he was downgraded to a non-participant in Friday's practice. Moss was limited in practices on Wednesday and Thursday before taking a step back on Friday and now he'll miss his second straight game. The 26-year-old's absence will be good news for Jonathan Taylor, who made his return in the Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons after missing three games following thumb surgery. Taylor should handle the majority of the backfield touches for the Colts this Sunday and should be considered a must-start RB1 in fantasy in a very good matchup at home against the Raiders. Expect Trey Sermon to back up Taylor.

Dec 28 3:40pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) was seen taking part in practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Moss was deemed a limited practice participant on Wednesday and will probably be listed the same on Thursday. The 26-year-old was forced to sit out of the Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday, but he could be on track to return for the Week 17 contest versus the visiting Las Vegas Raiders. The problem is that Jonathan Taylor also returned from a three-game absence this past weekend and will operate as the Colts' lead back the rest of the way as long as he is healthy. Moss has been productive in 2023 with 764 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns on a career-high 177 carries, and he's added 27 receptions for 192 yards and two more scores in 13 games. However, he'll be a tough sell as an RB3/flex in fantasy lineups if he returns in Week 17.

Dec 27 4:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) was listed as a limited participant for the team's practice on Wednesday. Moss did not play in the Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, but his participation in the first practice of the week is a sign that he could return to share the backfield with Jonathan Taylor this Sunday versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Moss' return would be bad news for Taylor's overall fantasy ceiling, but the expectation is that Taylor will remain the Colts' lead runner. Taylor returned from a thumb injury that kept him out of three games and had 18 carries for 43 yards (2.39 yards per attempt) while salvaging his fantasy day with his fifth trip to the end zone of the season. He couldn't haul in his only target through the air.

Dec 23 12:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. He had initially been listed as questionable but was trending in the wrong direction after missing all three practices this past week. Jonathan Taylor's return from a three-game absence is coming at the perfect time for the Colts, who can still feel confident about their backfield despite losing Moss. Look for Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson to back up Taylor this week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 1:30pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. The 26-year-old had been operating as the Colts' starter with Jonathan Taylor (sidelined), but he picked up a forearm injury during last Saturday's contest and was unable to return. Even if the Utah product does suit up in Week 16, he'll do so as a backup given that Taylor is expected to return. Therefore, Moss is off the fantasy radar in traditional 12-team leagues.

From RotoBaller

Dec 21 5:20pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) missed his second straight day of practice this week on Thursday. Moss injured his forearm in the Week 15 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers last Saturday and is trending towards missing this Sunday's contest on the road in Atlanta against the Falcons. He has one more day on Friday to get back on the practice field. Even if Moss practices on Friday and has a chance to suit up on Sunday, though, he'd be headed for more of a complementary role in Indy's backfield with Jonathan Taylor (thumb) trending toward returning following three-game absence due to thumb surgery. Fantasy managers should consider the 26-year-old RB to be an RB3/flex, at best, in Week 16 if he and Taylor are both active. If Moss sits, Trey Sermon would likely back up Taylor.

From RotoBaller

Dec 20 5:00pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report. Moss suffered a forearm injury in Saturday's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers and is now in danger of missing Week 16's contest this Sunday versus the Falcons in Atlanta. Even if the 26-year-old is able to return to practice later this week and play this weekend, he'll likely be looking at a major reduction in his role and fantasy value in Week 16. Jonathan Taylor (thumb), who has missed the last three games following right-thumb surgery, is back to full practice and appears on track to make his return on Sunday. Moss has had a solid year for the Colts in 2023, but he underwhelmed for fantasy managers the last three weeks with Taylor sidelined with 92 rushing yards on 36 attempts (2.56 yards per carry) while adding nine catches, 54 yards and a TD through the air.

Dec 18 12:50pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (shoulder) plans to try to play in Week 16 +]against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday despite the fact that he injured his shoulder in the Week 15 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, according to a source. X-rays came back negative on Moss' shoulder, and he has to "see how he progresses through the week." It will all come down to how much the 26-year-old can do in practice leading up to next Sunday's game. It's also possible that Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is able to return in Week 16 following three straight missed games after having thumb surgery. It's a good bet that one of /Moss or Taylor will be available against the Falcons, but if not, the Colts will have to turn to a combination Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.

From RotoBaller

Dec 17 11:20am ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (arm), who exited during the first half of Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and did not return, had his x-rays come back negative, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Although Moss isn't dealing with any type of bone break, Garafolo notes that he is having trouble gripping a football, which could obviously impact his availability for Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons. Further complicating this whole dynamic is the lingering injury to Jonathan Taylor (thumb), who has a chance to return next week, too. There's a scenario where both Taylor and Moss play, but there's also a possibility that neither of them suit up. In such a scenario, Trey Sermon would handle the bulk of the carries while Tyler Goodson gets involved in the receiving game.

Dec 16 7:00pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (arm) has been downgraded to out for the rest of Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Moss scored a touchdown early in the game, but suffered an arm injury on the same play. He was questionable to return, but the Colts decided to hold him out for the rest of the game. Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson should split up the carries for the second half of the contest. The Colts will likely have Moss undergo further testing. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more information on his status.

From RotoBaller

Dec 16 6:30pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (arm) is considered questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Moss was able to find the end zone, but suffered an arm injury on a horse collar tackle. It's worth noting that this is the same arm that Moss broke during the preseason. He managed 13 yards on four carries and caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown before exiting the game. The Colts will likely lean on the duo of Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson in the backfield with Moss uncertain to return.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 6:10pm ET

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss was inefficient in the team's Week 14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Moss ran the ball 13 times for 28 yards on the ground and added another 28 through the air. With running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) ruled out for the team's Week 15 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Moss will again be in line for another large opportunity share. Pittsburgh's defense has struggled against the run as of late, allowing the sixth-most points to opposing fantasy running backs in their last two games. Fantasy managers can look for Moss to bounce back from his poor Week 14 outing and play him as an RB2 option this week.
