Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff threw for 2,789 yards and 23 touchdowns during the second half of the 2024 season. He threw for 1,840 yards and 14 touchdowns during the first half.

Fantasy Spin: Goff has played very well since joining the Lions and is part of the one of the best offenses in the NFL. He probably will be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues but could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.

Jun 22 1:43pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff threw 12 interceptions during the 2024 season, which was tied for the fourth most in the NFL. He also threw 12 interceptions in the 2023 season.

Fantasy Spin: Goff has had a lot of success since joining the Lions but likely will try to cut down on the interceptions this season. He is still part of one of the better offenses in the NFL and can be a low-end No. 1 or a high-end No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff said offensive coordinator John Morton is keeping some things that the offensive has done in the past but is also adding some new things to the offensive scheme.

Fantasy Spin: The Lions have had one of the better offensives in the NFL over the last few seasons, so there likely will not be any drastic changes to the scheme. Goff will have most of his pass catchers back this upcoming season and can be a low-end No. 1 or high-end No.2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

The Detroit Lions have finished as a top-five total offense in each of the last three seasons under offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who departed this offseason to become the head coach of the Chicago Bears. While there will certainly be changes under new play-caller John Morton, head coach Dan Campbell believes the team will not regress on the offensive side of the ball. "This is a Detroit Lion offense, is what it is. This offense is Jared Goff, (Amon-Ra) St. Brown, (Jahmyr) Gibbs, (David) Montgomery," Campbell said. "It's Frank (Ragnow); it's (Penei) Sewell; it's (Taylor) Decker. I can keep (going). It's (Jameson Williams). That's what we are. (The players are) the ones who make it what it is. That's our playbook, those guys." While there could be growing pains early in the season, Campbell is right, and the offense has plenty of talent across the entire starting lineup to continue to produce at a high level for fantasy football.

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff will remain the focal point of the offense, according to new offensive coordinator John Morton. Morton spent a year as senior offensive assistant in 2022. 'I think it's big because it all starts with the quarterback,' Morton said. 'Just kind of knowing him -- and when I was here, I was in the quarterback room. So, I have a feel of what he likes, what he doesn't. That's important as a play-caller. We'll continue here when the players come back and stuff, so I'll get to know more about him and the plays that he really likes a lot and what they've been doing good here.'

Fantasy Spin: Goff was a surprise as the QB6 in fantasy, and provided he remains healthy, he could be in the QB7-12 range again next season. Look at him as a potential value pick in the middle of the QB run in your draft.

New Detroit Lions offensive coordinator John Morton told FOX 2 Detroit's Dan Miller that the team's offense in 2025 will remain "predicated" on quarterback Jared Goff. "I think it's big because it all starts with the quarterback," Morton said. "Just kind of knowing him -- and when I was here, I was in the quarterback room. So, I have a feel of what he likes, what he doesn't." Morton spent a year with the Lions as a senior offensive assistant in 2022 before coaching for the Denver Broncos the last two years. He also called played under Todd Bowles as the New York Jets offensive coordinator in 2017 but was fired after one season. Morton has been in non-play-calling roles the last six years. He'll be taking over the No. 1 offense and has big shoes to fill after Ben Johnson left to be the head coach for the division-rival Chicago Bears.

Jan 31 11:33pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff recorded 203 pass attempts on play-action in 2024, according to Pro Football Reference. The mark was not only a career high, but it was 52 more such attempts than second-place Matthew Stafford.

Fantasy Spin: While it makes a lot of sense for Detroit to use the threat of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery as often as possible, the concern for Goff's present and future fantasy managers is that the new offensive coordinator will not feature play-action as often as predecessor Ben Johnson did. Goff should still be a reliable low-end fantasy starter given his supporting cast, but he may not have quite the upside he occasionally did under Johnson.

From TheHuddle

Jan 20 8:13pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff led the NFL with 2,060 passing yards on play action passes during the regular season.

Fantasy Spin: Goff will be working with a new offensive coordinator next season, so it is not known if he will be able to have similar numbers in 2025. He should still have most of his pass catchers next season but is probably a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Dynasty | Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed 23-of-40 passes for 313 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in Detroit's stunning playoff loss to the Commanders. Dynasty Analysis: Goff shouldn't take all the blame in this one as the Lions defense got shredded, but he was hardly the solution either. It closes the chapter on a brilliant season but also raises some questions about just how high his ceiling really is. His value should hold this off-season, but this performance will certainly stop it from rising.

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff completed 23 of his 40 passes for 313 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions in a 45-31 loss to the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round. He also lost a fumble. RB Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 14 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns and caught six passes for 70 yards. RB David Montgomery added seven carries for 28 yards, and WR Jameson Williams had a 61-yard touchdown run to go along with one catch for 19 yards. WR Amon-Ra St. Brown had eight catches for 137 yards, and TE Sam LaPorta added six grabs for 51 yards and a score. LB Jack Campbell finished with a team-igh 14 tackles, and LB Alex Anzalone logged 13 tackles, including 12 solo stops.

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed 23 of his 40 pass attempts for 313 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions during Saturday's loss to the Washington Commanders. He also rushed for seven yards, took two sacks, and lost a fumble. It was an eventful day for Goff, whose first and only playoff game of the year ultimately resulted in an upset loss. He delivered four turnovers in the defeat, and he also missed a drive while being evaluated for concussion. Immediately upon being cleared to play, Goff didn't quite look like himself. Even when he started to find his groove again, he wasn't able to lead the Lions over the Commanders. He finished as the overall QB6 in fantasy football during the regular season, but his lone playoff appearance was one to forget. The veteran signal-caller could face some adversity this offseason if the Lions lose offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and have to implement a new offensive scheme. Still, he should rank as a low-end QB1 in 2025, largely thanks to his bevy of weapons.

According to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (concussion) is being evaluated for a concussion. Goff took a hard hit after throwing an interception in the second quarter. Veteran Teddy Bridgewater has taken over starting duties for the time being. Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff (head) exited the Divisional Round game against the Washington Commanders and is being evaluated for a concussion.

Fantasy Spin: Goff was crushed while trying to make a tackle on a pick six. If he is unable to return, Teddy Bridgewater will have to lead the Detroit offense.

Jan 17 1:10am ET

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff remains an appealing fantasy option as he prepares for the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Washington Commanders. The veteran quarterback has never been a very mobile player, but he has been able to maintain high upside thanks to his sharp passing skills and strong group of weapons. Throwing passes to players like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta, and Jahmyr Gibbs in 2024, Goff was able to rank as the overall QB6. This week, he should crack the top five fantasy quarterbacks as he takes on a suspect Washington Commanders defense. The Commanders have shown real potential, allowing the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year. However, their defense is typically regarded as mediocre at best, and they just surrendered two passing touchdowns to Baker Mayfield in the Wild Card Round. Furthermore, they failed to pick off Mayfield, despite the Buccaneers' quarterback leading the NFL in interceptions during the regular season. Goff may not post an absurdly high yardage total, but he should still be relied upon for a couple of touchdowns and potentially turnover-free football. He continues to be a top option for fantasy and betting purposes.

Jan 15 8:40pm ET

Detroit Lions left tackle Taylor Decker (personal) was not present with the rest of the team for Wednesday's practice due to personal reasons. It doesn't mean that the Lions won't have Decker available for the Divisional Round playoff game this Saturday against the visiting Washington Commanders, but his status will be worth watching closely. As long as he returns to the team and practices on Thursday, Decker should be ready to go. However, if he remains away from the team and doesn't play on Saturday, it will be a noteworthy piece missing from Detroit's offensive line as quarterback Jared Goff's blind-side protector. The 30-year-old veteran started 14 games during the regular season and is an anchor on the Lions' O-line. If Decker's personal issues keep him from playing, Dan Skipper could be forced to make the start at left tackle.
