Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball nine times for 17 yards and added four catches for 15 yards in a 45-14 loss to the Houston Texans in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday. Ford was quiet in his first playoff game as the Browns fell behind 24-14 at halftime and had to shift to a pass-first approach in the second half. Ford turned in a solid effort as Cleveland's lead back after the team lost Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury in Week 2. Chubb is likely to be back at some point early in the 2024 season but Ford has certainly earned himself a role as the No. 2 running back in Cleveland moving forward. With Chubb set to become a free-agent after next season, Ford remains an interesting long-term asset in dynasty formats.

Jan 11 6:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford should be well-rested after he handled just five touches in a Week 18 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The second-year running back will now head on the road to take on the Houston Texans in the first round of the NFL playoffs. Ford draws a difficult matchup this weekend as the Texans allowed just the 19th-most fantasy points per game to running backs in the regular season. That being said, Ford has been active in Cleveland's passing game, so he should be a decent fantasy options in full PPR sites. Ford is on the board as a top-12 fantasy running back in DFS this weekend.

Jan 7 4:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball three times for six yards and added two catches for 26 yards in a 31-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18. Ford did not start but he wound up seeing a handful of touches in a final tuneup before the Browns head to Houston to take on the Texans in the Wild Card round of the playoffs next week. The second-year back finishes his 2023 season with nine all-purpose touchdowns although his role next season will depend on how Nick Chubb (knee) progresses in rehabbing his knee injury. Ford will be a solid DFS option next week against Houston.

Jan 6 9:50am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford has rolled up nine all-purpose touchdowns as the lead back for his team in 2023. The second-year back may not get a chance to add to his TD total in Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals, however. The Browns are already locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC and are planning on resting some of their key starters in what is a meaningless game for them. Ford would certainly fit into that criteria as he and Kareem Hunt have been Cleveland's two primary ball carriers since Nick Chubb (knee) was lost for the season back in Week 2. The Browns haven't made any official announcements pertaining to their running back room for Sunday but Pierre Strong Jr. would operate as the team's No. 1 back if Hunt and Ford ultimately don't play. That would put Strong on the radar as a high-end RB3 and a cheap dart-throw option in DFS tournaments this weekend. Stay tuned.

Dec 30 8:15pm ET

Cleveland Browns' RB Jerome Ford scored 26.10 fantasy points in Thursday's Week 17 win against the Jets. Ford ran for 64 yards and caught two passes for 57 yards with two touchdowns. It's the 1st time this season Ford scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Dec 29 6:20am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball 12 times for 64 yards and added two receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-20 win over the New York Jets in Week 17. Ford got the Browns on the scoreboard with a seven-yard TD reception to cap off their first drive of the game. He later ripped off a 50-yard touchdown catch and run in the second quarter to give him nine all-purpose touchdowns on the season. Ford will remain an RB2 in Week 18's road matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Dec 27 7:40am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford was held to 25 rushing yards on 15 carries but he managed to find the end zone in a Week 16 win over the Houston Texans. He will look for better efficiency against the New York Jets in Week 17's Thursday night game. Ford is listed on the injury report with a wrist injury but he got in full practices on Monday and Tuesday and should be available to play on Thursday night. The Jets have been a run-funnel defense in 2023 as they have been good at shutting down the pass but have been vulnerable to the run. The Jets are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to running backs, so look for Ford to be a main piece to Cleveland's game plan on Thursday. Ford sets up as a low-end RB2 in Week 17.

Dec 24 5:10pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball 15 times for 25 yards and a touchdown while losing two yards on his lone catch in a 36-22 win over the Houston Texans in Week 16. Ford has now been held to 25 or fewer rushing yards in two straight games, although he now has seven all-purpose touchdowns for the Browns this season. The second-year running back will hope to show more efficiency in Week 17 against a vulnerable New York Jets run defense.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 4:30pm ET

Browns' RB Jerome Ford averaged a dreadful 1.7 yards per carry on 15 attempts in Sunday's game in Houston. He did score one touchdown in the win.

Dec 23 9:10am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford has been held to 20 or fewer rushing yards in two of his past three games as the workload split between him and Kareem Hunt has become more even in recent weeks. He will look to shake off his recent slow performances in Week 16's road matchup against the Houston Texans. Houston has been solid against running backs in 2023 as they are allowing the 19th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Ford has been dealing with a wrist injury over the past two games but he is listed without an injury designation after being limited in practice on Wednesday. Ford is in play as a high-end RB3/flex option heading into the fantasy playoff semifinals.

Dec 22 1:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns running backs Jerome Ford (wrist) and Kareem Hunt (groin) have been removed from the final injury report and will play against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Both players had been limited in practice to start the week but progressed enough to avoid any sort of injury designation heading into the weekend. Ford has maintained his hold on the lead-back role in Cleveland, posting double-digit fantasy points (PPR) in six of his last seven games. He'll rank as a high-end RB3 option in 12-team leagues this week while Hunt is a low-end FLEX play, at best.

Dec 22 12:20am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (wrist) was upgraded to a full participant in Thursday's practice. Ford was limited in Wednesday's session with a wrist injury that he suffered in the narrow Week 14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 24-year-old is on track for an important AFC matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 16, and we wouldn't expect him to head into Sunday's tilt with a designation, barring any setbacks by the time Friday's injury report is released. Ford struggled to gain traction last Sunday against the Chicago Bears for his lowest scrimmage-yardage total (31) since fully taking over as Cleveland's lead back in Week 3, but fantasy managers can trust the second-year back as a low-end RB2 in a run-heavy attack against a Houston team that's likely to be without starting quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion).

Dec 20 7:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns running backs Jerome Ford (wrist) and Kareem Hunt (groin) were both limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Both Ford and Hunt have been on the injury report in recent weeks but haven't missed any games. Ford continues to serve as Cleveland's primary early-down option in the backfield, but he has seen single-digit carries in three of the last four games and hasn't scored on the ground since Week 11. The 24-year-old should be considered an RB3/flex with limited upside behind a banged-up offensive line heading into Week 16 against the Houston Texans. Hunt has been splitting carries with Ford but is averaging just 3.13 yards per carry in 12 games. He's not being used much as a receiver, either, catching just one pass in each of the last three games. Hunt has fallen to RB4/flex territory in deep PPR leagues.

Dec 17 5:10pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball eight times for 20 yards and added four receptions for 11 yards in a 20-17 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 15. The Browns went away from the run in the contest as they fell behind 17-7 heading into the fourth quarter, which cut into Ford's workload. The Cleveland offensive line is dealing with several injuries, which has also made it tough for Ford to find room to run. Ford will look for better results in Week 16 against the Houston Texans.

Dec 16 8:20am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (wrist) got in a full practice on Friday and is listed without an injury designation heading into a Week 15 home matchup against the Chicago Bears. Ford left his team's Week 14 win early with a wrist issue but it will not prevent him from taking the field this weekend. The Bears are allowing the 12th-most fantasy points per game to running backs in 2023, setting up a plus matchup for Ford and the rest of the Cleveland backfield. Treat Ford as a low-end RB2 heading into the first round of the fantasy playoffs in most leagues.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 12:40am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (wrist) was a limited practice participant on Thursday. It matches Ford's level of activity from Wednesday due to a wrist injury from Week 14's 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. But after Ford's X-rays returned negative earlier this week, his ability to maintain limited participation should keep him on course to suit up in Week 15 at home versus the Chicago Bears. Assuming he practices again on Friday, it remains to be seen if the second-year back will carry an injury designation into Sunday's tilt. Ford has been a rock-solid fantasy RB2 in relief of the injured Nick Chubb (knee) this year, putting up 12.3 carries for 50.5 rushing yards and 2.9 catches for 18.4 yards per game with five total touchdowns in 11 games since Week 3.

Dec 13 9:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (wrist) practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday ahead of his team's Week 15 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Ford injured his wrist during the fourth quarter of a Week 14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. X-rays came back negative but Ford's practice status on Thursday and Friday will be worth monitoring leading up to Sunday. If Ford doesn't play, Pierre Strong Jr. would take on a larger role in the Cleveland backfield.

From RotoBaller

Dec 11 1:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that running back Jerome Ford's X-rays on his injured hand/wrist came back negative on Monday. Ford finished the exciting 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with 12 rushing attempts for 51 yards and five catches on six targets for 31 yards. Most of his rushing production came on a 26-yard pickup in the second quarter, and the 24-year-old was splitting backfield work evenly with Kareem Hunt. As long as he stays active in the passing attack in the Browns' offense, Hunt should continue to have RB3/flex value for fantasy managers. Ford's injury shouldn't keep him from playing in Week 15, but he'll have a difficult matchup against the resurgent Chicago Bears defense on tap next weekend.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 6:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (hand, wrist) had 51 yards off 12 carries in Sunday's narrow win over the Jaguars. He added five catches for 31 yards. The 24-year-old didn't find the end zone in Week 14, although he contributed in multiple areas, so most fantasy managers were likely pleased with the result. Nevertheless, Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer reported Ford needed X-rays on his hand and wrist, so it's something to monitor ahead of the Week 15 meeting with the Chicago Bears. If Ford is forced to miss time, Kareem Hunt would become the clear No. 1 back for the Browns.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 6:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball 12 times for 51 yards and added five receptions for 31 yards in a 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14. Ford got the start and wound up out-touching veteran Kareem Hunt 17-to-11 in the win. As was the case on Sunday, his ability to do damage in the passing attack has kept him fantasy-relevant all season as he has now caught 35 passes for 227 yards and three scores. Ford will remain on the RB2 map in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears.
