Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz caught five of his seven targets for 61 yards and his first touchodwn of the season in a 23-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13.
Fantasy Spin: Although Schultz was busy against the Jaguars, he has been held below 40 yards in 10 of his 13 games. He is still a reach as a fantasy starter.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz broke a regular-season touchdown drought of more than a year, finding the end zone and accumulating five catches for 61 yards in a 23-20 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The veteran had not scored in 17 straight regular-season games prior to Sunday, but connected with quarterback C.J. Stroud for a 22-yard scoring strike. The Stanford product has normally been a secondary option in the Texans' offense, but drew seven targets on Sunday, which was second only to top receiver Nico Collins. Schultz will look for more of the same after a Week 14 bye.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (shoulder) has returned to Sunday's Week 13 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He missed roughly six minutes of game time as the Texans evaluated his injury, listed him as questionable, and cleared him to return. He'll look to build on his four-catch, 39-yard effort over the final 16-plus minutes of Sunday's game, but his role could be reduced if the Texans adopt a run-heavy approach with a 10-point lead over the Jaguars.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (shoulder) exited during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is officially questionable to return. Schultz landed hard on his shoulder after hurdling over a defender, and he hasn't been on the field since. At the time of his departure, he had caught four of his five targets for 39 yards. Cade Stover will step up as the Texans' primary tight end until Schultz can return to the mix.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury during the Week 13 game and is considered questionable to return.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation to see how long Schultz may be sidelined because of the injury. He has not been a reliable fantasy option recently and may only be a No. 2 tight end in leagues.
From TheHuddle
At this stage of the season, fantasy managers rostering Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz in a one-tight end format would be hard-pressed to trust him, even in a great matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Houston still clearly values the veteran tight end, who is playing 80% of its snaps, but his decline in receiving production has made him a depreciating fantasy asset. In PPR formats, the former Dallas Cowboy has zero top-10 finishes among tight ends, and now rookie tight end Cade Stover has begun steadily earning more receiving work as well. The Jags rank 27th against fantasy tight ends and 31st for yards after the catch allowed, but managers should view Schultz as a touchdown-dependent TE2.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz caught two passes for 20 yards against the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. He was targeted two times during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Schultz has been targeted at least six times in three of the last five games but has been held to under 35 yards in three of those games. He likely will see a handful of targets next week but is probably only a No. 2 tight end in most fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz caught both of his targets for 20 yards in a 32-27 loss to Tennessee. For fantasy managers, the bigger concern was that he was out-targeted by rookie tight end Cade Stover, who drew four targets and caught a touchdown, which Schultz has yet to do this season. The Houston offense in general struggled to establish much of a rhythm, as Tennessee's dominant defensive line held the Texans to just 40 rushing yards. The veteran tight end will face a more favorable matchup next week, however, as Houston travels to take on the slumping Jacksonville Jaguars.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz will face the struggling Tennessee Titans in Week 12, though that's not good news for a mid-tier fantasy player at his position. The Titans' solid defense has been particularly good against fantasy tight ends, ranking sixth overall and holding Minnesota's T.J. Hockenson to just two catches for 13 yards in a loss to the Vikings last week. Schultz now hasn't scored a regular-season touchdown in a calendar year and ranks 23rd among tight ends in PPR formats. Bye weeks are wreaking havoc on lineups, but fantasy managers should aim higher than Schultz's typical TE2 output if they have other options.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz ended up with a season-high five receptions for 33 yards on seven targets in Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Spin: Schultz has three or more receptions in four consecutive outings, and he has managed six or more targets in five of the previous seven contests. He has re-emerged as a borderline low-end TE1 or must-have TE2 in PPR leagues of 12 or more teams, with slightly lesser appear in standard play. The Texans host the Tennessee Titans in Week 12.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz set a season-high with five catches for 33 yards in the Texans' 34-10 victory against the Dallas Cowboys. The big tight end drew seven targets, which tied for the team lead, but did most of his work within short yardage. The former Cowboy still has not scored this season, but Houston has only two passing touchdowns in its past five games as a team, so receiving touchdowns have been few and far between. Schultz and the Texans will look for better against the struggling Tennessee Titans in Week 12.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz continues to be a TE2 option as Houston takes on his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, in Week 11. The 28-year-old is coming off a season-best 66 receiving yards last week, but volume remains an issue, and now the Texans are slated to get top receiver Nico Collins back in the lineup. The veteran tight end has been one of the more frustrating fantasy holds on the season: he's starting in a good offense, but not trustworthy enough to start confidently. Against a bad Dallas defense, he's a touchdown-dependent play.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz pulled in three passes for a season-high 66 yards in a 26-23 loss to Detroit on Sunday. The big tight end didn't see a ton of volume, logging only four targets, but he was effective when called upon in the passing attack. Unfortunately for Houston, the offense was shut out in the second half as the Lions mounted a comeback from 16 points down. Schultz and the Texans will face a much friendlier matchup in Week 11 when they take on the struggling Dallas Cowboys.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz ended up with three receptions for 66 yards on four targets in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions.
Fantasy Spin: The Lions are normally pretty tough on opposing tight ends, but Schultz had a couple of splash plays, including a 32-yard catch and run. He remains more of a TE2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 11 in Dallas on MNF.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz should be considered a TE2 in Week 10 with a difficult matchup on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Detroit ranks No. 1 against fantasy tight ends going into this week, and the former Dallas Cowboy hasn't exactly been lighting it up this season anyway. Through nine games, the veteran tight end has zero top-15 finishes at his position and has not caught a regular-season touchdown since Week 11 of 2023. But due to his high snap count and injuries to Houston's receivers, he's still playable as a bye-week fill-in or in formats that play more than one tight end.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz had three catches (on six targets) for 21 yards in a Week 9 loss to the New York Jets.
Fantasy Spin: With Houston short-handed at receiver, this looked like a prime opportunity for Schultz to step up. He didn't. While his 78-808-8 season with Dallas in 2021 put him on the fantasy map, he's never come close to matching that production in two-plus seasons since. He holds no value outside of the deepest leagues.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz finished Thursday night's 21-13 loss at the New York Jets with three catches for 21 yards. The Texans targeted the veteran tight end six times, which ranked second only to wide receiver Tank Dell, but completed just 11 of their 31 passing attempts on the night. Schultz now has failed to hit 30 yards receiving in six of nine games and still does not have a touchdown yet this season. He'll look for a long-awaited breakout in a solid matchup against Detroit in Week 10.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz's role as a receiver took a major hit in the offseason, but injuries could change that in Week 9 against the New York Jets. Houston will be without their first and second options on Thursday, as wide receiver Nico Collins (hamstring) will be out at least another week and Stefon Diggs (knee) will miss the rest of the season. More targets might be on the way for the big tight end, who is a disappointing 25th among fantasy tight ends so far. The Jets are a tough matchup, ranking ninth against tight ends, though Schultz is coming off his best receiving yardage total of the season (52) last week. He's still a TE2 option, albeit with some upside under the circumstances.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz ended up with four receptions for 52 yards on six targets in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Fantasy Spin: Schultz fared well against an Indianapolis defense which struggles against tight ends. Schultz has been a little erratic, and he is more of a TE2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. He and the Texans face a tough matchup in Week 9 against the New York Jets.
From TheHuddle
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz had a season-best 52 receiving yards on four catches in a 23-20 win against the Indianapolis Colts. The Texans targeted the big tight end six times, which was tied for second on the team. The Stanford product could temporarily assume an even bigger role in the Houston passing game, as receiver Stefon Diggs (knee) left the game with a non-contact injury. The Texans are currently without top receiver Nico Collins (hamstring), who is on injured reserve. Fantasy managers will have to monitor injury statuses ahead of Schultz and the Texans taking on the New York Jets in Week 9.
