On Saturday, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that the team could still add help at the wide receiver position via free agency despite not addressing their need during the draft. "It definitely was a big-time thought," said Jones, " but the train has not left the station if improvement is needed from what we've got on campus." Instead of a flashy offensive skill player selection in Round 1, Dallas opted for offensive lineman Tyler Booker, and continued beefing up the trenches and their defense instead of drafting a complementary wideout to pair with superstar CeeDee Lamb. However, it appears they may not be done yet. In addition to signing undrafted free agent WRs Traeshon Holden and Josh Kelly from Oregon and Texas Tech, respectively, Jones hasn't closed the door on addressing the need in free agency. Notable names remaining unsigned are Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper, with the latter being an intriguing fit considering his familiarity with the organization and quarterback Dak Prescott.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic and her sources, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to target an offensive skill player with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan and Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden are two names that "could" interest Dallas, Russini wrote. The Cowboys are set at WR1 with All-Pro standout CeeDee Lamb, but the WR2 spot has been a weakness since Amari Cooper was traded to the Cleveland Browns following the 2021 campaign. While Dallas suddenly has holes at multiple offensive positions, the arrival of a talented first-round pass-catcher would provide a boost for quarterback Dak Prescott in fantasy football. Lamb has overall WR1 upside regardless of who Dallas potentially adds to the WR room. McMillan projects as a classic X-wide receiver with contested-catch ability, while Golden is a speedster with downfield pass-catching chops.

The Dallas Cowboys are signing former Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Hakeem Adeniji, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The 2020 sixth-round pick out of Kansas has played both tackle and guard during his 43 professional appearances (15 starts). However, he is likely to be a pure depth piece for Dallas if he makes the 53-man roster following offseason activities and training camp. Dallas has lost future Hall of Fame offensive linemen Tyron Smith and Zack Martin over the last two offseasons, so the group is in transition heading into the 2025 campaign. Given Dak Prescott's injury troubles, the organization should put a heavy emphasis on improving from last year's group.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring), who is recovering from a torn right hamstring suffered last year, said that he would be in attendance for the team's voluntary workouts this week but will be limited. Prescott said last Friday that his surgically repaired hamstring has been improving and that he thought he could play in games right now if he had to. The 31-year-old played in just eight games in 2024 and had surgery on his hamstring in November. The fact that he's even participating in voluntary workouts is a good sign. Barring a setback this summer, Prescott should be ready to rock as a low-end QB1 option for fantasy managers for Week 1 this fall. The three-time Pro Bowler had a career year in 2023 but had 1,978 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions at the time of his injury last year.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) said he is progressing in his recovery from a season-ending torn right hamstring last year that required surgery. "If I had to play a game today, I definitely could do that," Prescott said. "It's about moving forward healthy to make sure I can play 17 times, 20 [games] -- whatever we get to when the time's right." Prescott ended up playing in only eight games in 2024 after signing a four-year, $240 million contract extension last September that made him the highest-paid QB in NFL history in terms of annual average value. Before the injury, the 31-year-old had only 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions, making him a big disappointment in fantasy leagues as a QB1. However, the three-time Pro Bowler will be looking to bounce back in 2025 and is planning to take part in organized team activities when they start next month.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) believes he has recovered well enough from last year's season-ending hamstring injury that he could play in a game today, Prescott said Friday, April 11, at the 35th annual Children's Cancer Fund gala. 'I'm getting close to where I want to be. I don't want to put a percentage on it,' Prescott added. 'I know we've got team activities coming up, imagine myself being involved in some sort if not all. Then again I just understand my age, what I've had, what I've went through, it's about being my best in the fall. So I'm not rushing anything, but I'm where I want to be.'
Fantasy Spin: This is encouraging news, but Prescott still comes with significant concerns given the lack of weapons behind CeeDee Lamb, a suspect running game, and Dallas' shaky offensive line. Should some of those deficiencies improve, he's a fringe QB1 in 2025 drafts.

Dallas Cowboys co-owner Stephen Jones notes that quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) is "doing great" after hamstring surgery. ESPN's Todd Archer reported the news. "He's very thrilled with where he is, and I know the trainers are too," said Jones. "I feel like he's doing a hell of a job." While this is good news, Jones also reports that the 31-year-old will have "some limitations" in the offseason training program. Prescott will be looking to bounce back in 2025. Aside from the nine games he missed with injury, the Louisiana native wasn't at the top of his game when he was healthy, producing an 11:8 TD:INT ratio and 247.25 yards per game across eight outings. It appears he's on the right track regarding his injury, but Prescott will have other factors working against his rebound, such as a new head coach in Brian Schottenheimer.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) is making good progress in his recovery but will be a limited participant in offseason workouts, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones.
Fantasy Spin: Prescott does not need much work this offseason and appears to be on track for training camp. He will have a similar group of pass catchers to work with next season and probably can be a low-end No. 1 or high-end No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott agreed to a restructured contract that created $36.6 million in salary-cap space, according to sources Wednesday, March 5.
Fantasy Spin: After the restructures of Prescott and WR CeeDee Lamb over the last week, the Cowboys have created $56.6 million in salary-cap space ahead of free agency. This should lead to Dallas being a bit more aggressive in the open market with Prescott still holding QB2 value.
From TheHuddle
The Dallas Cowboys restructured quarterback Dak Prescott's contract on Wednesday that will open up $36.6 million in salary cap space in 2025, and it comes just one day after the team restructured star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb's contract. After the restructures for both Prescott and Lamb, the Cowboys have freed up $56.6 million in cap space in advance of a likely big-time contract extension for star pass-rusher Micah Parsons this offseason. It remains to be seen how aggressive the Cowboys, who did next to nothing in free agency a year ago, will get in free agency in 2025. The 31-year-old Prescott had a career year in 2023 before playing in just eight games last year due to a season-ending torn hamstring that required surgery in November. Prescott is on track in his recovery and should be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season, where he'll be more of a low-end QB1 asset in fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) has yet to be cleared to return to the hamstring injury that ended his season and may not be participate in any offseason practices, but he has no doubt that he will be ready to play by Week 1 of the 2025 season. 'I'm not gonna put a timeline on it, but I'll be ready for the first game and when anything matters and very, very ready,' the three-time Pro Bowler said. 'I'm feeling good. I'm doing more and more. The last two weeks have been huge and progressive for me,' Prescott said during a recent public appearance.
Fantasy Spin: The Cowboys need Prescott healthy in 2025, if only because they may not have another quarterback on the roster familiar with new head coach Brian Schottenheimer's playbook. Dallas also has plenty of work to do from a roster-building perspective, as the offensive line and running back are two major concerns. As long as Prescott and CeeDee Lamb stay healthy this season, however, Prescott should be a more than serviceable fantasy QB2.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) does not want to put a timetable on his return from his hamstring injury but indicated that he will be ready for the 2025 season.
Fantasy Spin: Prescott does not need to do much during offseason workouts and should have plenty of time to be ready for training camp. He is one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL when healthy and probably will be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback in most leagues.
From TheHuddle
During a radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk said he has heard the Dallas Cowboys have talked to the Tennessee Titans about moving up for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Florio said he is not sure how serious the talks have been. "Now I think a lot of teams talk about moving around and I don't know if you guys have heard that," Florio said. "But that's a jump and I don't know what you would have to put into that or whether you'd have to put Micah Parsons into that package if it would go that way. But teams talk all the time." Dallas putting a significant package of picks or players to move up to No. 1 would be a surprise given quarterback Dak Prescott is under contract long-term, and the roster has significant holes to fill on offense and defense. This could just be pre-draft noise, but it's a development worth monitoring if more news comes out about the possibility.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said he expects to use play-action more often under head coach Brian Schottenheimer. 'I've always enjoyed play-action pass, so just being able to get back to that,' Prescott said. 'But you've got to start with the run game, and when you have that, the rest of the offense can open up.'
Fantasy Spin: Although Schottenheimer's offensive philosophy could provide Prescott with more opportunities to make plays down the field, it sounds like it will mean a more run-heavy approach overall. Prescott should probably be viewed as a solid QB2.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) said on Wednesday that his "health is good" and that he's "looking to amp it up here recently" in his rehab from a season-ending torn right hamstring that he suffered on Nov. 3. Prescott still has plenty of rehab left to do, but signs are encouraging that he could be ready to take part in Dallas' offseason workouts if everything continues to trend in a positive direction. It was a disappointing season all around for the Cowboys in 2024, but things went from bad to worse after Prescott's injury. The 31-year-old three-time Pro Bowler was underwhelming in his eight starts before getting hurt after a career year in 2023 in which he threw for 4,516 yards and a league-high 36 touchdowns. Prescott threw for 1,978 yards, 11 TDs and eight picks in 2024 and will see his fantasy stock drop heading into 2025 while coming off a major injury with new head coach Brian Schottenheimer now calling offensive plays.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) noted that 'my health is good' and he is 'looking to amp (his recovery from a torn hamstring) up' during a news conference promoting a fashion show on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
Fantasy Spin: Prescott is 12 weeks into his rehab and appears to be quite confident he will be 100% sooner than later. While he stated during the news conference he is excited to have new head coach Brian Schottenheimer take over, fantasy managers should be skeptical - at least as it pertains to Prescott reaching the heights he once did under former head coach Mike McCarthy. He should be valued as a decent QB2 option in most drafts this spring and summer.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said that he fully endorses owner Jerry Jones' decision to hire former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as the team's next head coach. "I mean, Shotty means a lot to me. He's been a consistent man, and I think that's a part of why he's gotten this job in his time being here. I got four years left on my contract. He's tied directly to my future, so let's go be the best that we can in these four years," Prescott said. Although the move to hire Schottenheimer, who has never been a head coach in the NFL, wasn't a splashy one, it gives Prescott and the Dallas offense continuity. Schottenheimer didn't call offensive plays the last two years, but he was the offensive coordinator and knows Prescott well. Although Schottenheimer won't necessarily be great for Prescott, it's worth noting that he led the NFL with 36 TD passes in 2023, the first year that Schottenheimer became Dallas' OC.
From RotoBaller
The Dallas Cowboys are interested in offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for their vacant head-coaching job, according to a person briefed on their opening. Dallas has only interviewed Robert Saleh, Kellen Moore and Leslie Frazier so far after parting ways with Mike McCarthy last week, but they will surely add a long list of candidates to interview. The 51-year-old Schottenheimer has been with Dallas since 2022 and has been their offensive coordinator the last two seasons. In addition to being the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys, he has run offenses for the New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks while also serving as a quarterbacks coach for the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts. The Cowboys value continuity for QB Dak Prescott, so Schottenheimer will be a favorite for the position.
From RotoBaller
After the Dallas Cowboys' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football in Week 17, owner Jerry Jones praised head coach Mike McCarthy but also declined to comment on his future after this season when asked. The praise for McCarthy is notable since his contract expires at the end of this season, and the Cowboys' late-season surge without quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) could buy the head coach more time with the organization. Dallas has won four of its last five games. "All I can say is what a good job, how good a job he's doing," Jones said. "Don't have thoughts that I would share as to anything about what we do ... after we're through playing this year." Already eliminated from postseason contention, Dallas has two division games remaining -- at the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17 and home versus the Washington Commanders in the Week 18 regular-season finale.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys offensive guard Zack Martin (ankle) will undergo season-ending surgery on his right ankle, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. It's more bad news for the Cowboys with five games remaining in the regular season. Martin, a seven-time All-Pro offensive lineman, injured his ankle in the Week 11 loss to the Houston Texans and hadn't played since. With the 34-year-old veteran out the rest of the way in what has been a lost season for Dallas, offensive lineman Brock Hoffman figures to take over as the team's starting right guard. Martin, the former sixth overall pick by Dallas back in 2014, will hit the free-agent market this offseason and could depart in free agency. His injury is just more bad news for an offense that is also without quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) for the rest of the season.
