Los Angeles Rams running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr., the team's two most veteran running backs, have been splitting first-team snaps pretty evenly so far in training camp. So far, both of them look explosive and healthy, and they're are also clearly going to be a factor in the passing game. "I look at it as we've got two starting backs," head coach Sean McVay said. "Those guys are great complements (to) one another, but I see them as both starting-caliber players." Henderson has suffered a variety of injuries the last few years, and Akers returned late last year from an Achilles tear. Akers looks to have bulked up in a positive way, which should make him a more dangerous runner. Akers should be the primary back, but at his current ADP as an RB2, he'll be a bit risky if Henderson stays healthy and steals valuable touches from him.

Dynasty | Jaguars running back James Robinson will not begin training camp on the PUP list. Dynasty Analysis: It's huge news for Robinson and his dynasty coaches while those with shares of Travis Etienne will be somewhat disappointed. Robinson is seven months removed from his December Achilles tear and seems to be following in the steps of Rams' back Cam Akers, who also successfully rehabbed-and-returned in the same season from his own Achilles tear in 2021. Expect the team to take it easy on the soon-to-be 24-year-old Robinson to ensure he can be eased into a larger workload but, without setback, it seems Jacksonville will begin the season with a 1-2 punch of Robinson and Etienne. Robinson is found as an intriguing RB43 value, certain to rise as long as he remains off the trainer's table.

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers reported he's 100% after tearing his Achilles last season. While getting back on the field from such an injury is a feat in itself, the 23-year-old wasn't satisfied with his play upon returning. "I wasn't happy with my postseason performance. I just felt like I left a lot on the field. There was more out there to be had," Akers said before adding he's committed to working hard this offseason in hopes of becoming a top-three option at the position in 2022-23. Nevertheless, despite Akers' production during the playoffs being somewhat discouraging, he seems determined to turn things around. Managers shouldn't forget about him during fantasy drafts, especially after all of the elite options have come off the board. Still, nobody should be reaching too far for him, either.

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers (Achilles) said at mandatory minicamp that he's 100% healthy, and The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue expects Akers to have a higher volume of pass-catching opportunities in the offense this year. Some fantasy managers may be worried that he had just 2.4 yards per carry and 2.31 yards after contact per attempt after returning in the postseason from a preseason torn Achilles. But Akers, from all accounts, will be fully healthy entering the 2022 regular season and should be the team's go-to backfield option in an explosive offense. Rodrigue has no reason to believe that Akers won't be productive as a top-20 fantasy back this year, for what it's worth.

Dynasty | Rams running back Cam Akers said he is 100% Dynasty Analysis: It appears to be "all systems go" for DLF's RB9. It was 11 months ago when word came out that Akers had torn his Achilles and would be undergoing surgery, a devastating blow for the running back and dynasty coaches relying on him. What followed was many coaches selling out for nearly any compensation in return as most believed it would be a career-threatening injury. Instead, Akers return late in the season and played an important role in the team's Super Bowl run, adding a spark to the run-game. Now months out from his post-season return, Akers said he's "100%" and it appears as though the team will be leaning on him even more, including integrating him more as a receiver. As long as Akers' health holds, he's a strong bet to rise in our dynasty rankings during the 2022 season. He turns 23 on June 22nd.

Dynasty | Rams running back Cam Akers won't be satisfied until he's considered one of "the top three running backs in the league." Dynasty Analysis: Akers' miraculous recovery from his 2021 off-season Achilles tear reset the bar of expectation for running backs returning from an injury which, previously, carried dire forecasts for future performance. But Akers still wasn't satisfied with his performance following his return and has been grinding this off-season. About his off-season thus far, he said: "No vacations. Only one trip home. That's probably the only time I left L.A. I've been here every day working and they can attest to it. 8 o'clock in the morning every day." It certainly appears Akers is 100% healthy and taking on a huge workload to prepare for an expanded role in 2022. Head coach Sean McVay has been mercurial when it comes to running back usage, but all signs point to Akers being the lead back and, if so, should pile up fantasy points in the high octane offense. Still only 22, Cam Akers is listed as DLF's RB8 and is in fine position for a further rise into the 2022 season.
