New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith posted one catch for just 10 yards on two targets in the NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Fantasy Spin: Smith stepped up and had a giant game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the regular season, showing his speed and good hands. However, with Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr. healthy, he was an afterthought in the offense. Perhaps in 2019 if he can rise to No. 2 status behind Thomas he'll be a solid fantasy sleeper, but it all depends on if Ginn is back, offseason personnel moves and the draft.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith caught his only target for 15 yards in a 20-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round Sunday, Jan. 13.
Fantasy Spin: Smith has flashed big-play ability this year, but now that Ted Ginn Jr. is back and healthy, he doesn't see enough volume to warrant a flier from fantasy owners participating in playoff contests. Smith has been held to 30 yards or less in his last six games, catching one pass or less four times in that stretch.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith posted three grabs for 30 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers on four targets.
Fantasy Spin: Smith was seeing added work with Ted Ginn Jr. resting and getting ready for the playoffs. The rookie finished with 28 catches, 427 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season and he will be a nice sleeper heading into the 2019 campaign.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith managed just one catch for 11 yards on his only target in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Spin: Smith saw his playing time and targets dry up with Ted Ginn Jr. back from a lengthy absence. While he stunk this week from a fantasy perspective, he might be used frequently in Week 17. The Saints locked up the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, but Smith could play more if the team elects to rest guys like Michael Thomas, perhaps Ginn, etc. Watch the news closely this week.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith is likely to be impacted by the return of WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) in the Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Spin: Smith has played outside, which is where Ginn is expected to be slotted upon his return. Neither Smith nor Ginn are recommended fantasy options at this critical juncture of the season.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith managed just two catches for 15 yards on four targets in Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers on Monday, Dec. 17.
Fantasy Spin: Smith exploded for 157 yards and a touchdown on 10 grabs back on Nov. 18 and looked like a fantasy star in the making. Then, the past two games he was blanked with just one target each, and then this egg laying. He simply cannot be trusted at this juncture of the fantasy season, even if it is tempting to use him in Week 16 in a potential shootout against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith failed to haul in his only target in a 13-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13.
Fantasy Spin: Whether it was the toe injury he has been dealing with or the lack of production from the offense in general, Smith laid an egg for fantasy owners. He's flashed a ton of upside, but he's likely to remain an all-or-nothing option moving forward.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (toe) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Fantasy Spin: Smith exploded two weeks ago before being inactive on Thanksgiving. Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara remain the Saints' top two receiving options, but Smith's ceiling is in the WR2 range this week.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith was limited in practice for a second straight day Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Fantasy Spin: Unless Smith is downgraded and misses practice tomorrow he should be able to take the field Thursday night. Assuming he does, he'll be in WR3 territory coming off the injury.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (toe) practiced on a limited basis Monday, Nov. 26.
Fantasy Spin: Smith was inactive last week, so starting off with a limited status is a good start even with a short week. As the Saints' No. 2 wide receiver behind Michael Thomas, Smith possesses low-end WR2 to high-end WR3 upside.
The New Orleans Saints have declared DL Mitchell Loewen, WR Tre'Quan Smith, DE Trey Hendrickson, WR Brandon Marshall, LB Manti Te'o, C Will Clapp and OT Terron Armstead inactive for Week 12.
New Orleans Saints OT Terron Armstead (pectoral) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 21 and he is out for the Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, Nov. 22. DE Marcus Davenport (toe) and WR Tre'Quan Smith (foot) were limited participants and are questionable. OT Jermon Bushrod (hand), DT Tyeler Davison (hand), DE Trey Hendrickson (chest), OT Andrus Peat, C Max Unger (quadriceps) and OG Larry Warford (head) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (foot) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 21, and he is listed as questionable for the Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons on Thanksgiving night.
Fantasy Spin: Smith blew up in last Sunday's blowout of the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, posting a career-high 157 yards and a score on 10 grabs. He could have another big game against a leaky Falcons pass defense if he is active.
Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (foot) did not practice Tuesday, Nov. 20. Earlier reports suggested Smith was able to get in a limited session.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (foot) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 20, after not practicing Monday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Spin: The upgrade is a good sign that Smith will be able to take the field on Thanksgiving Day. After a breakout outing in which he caught 10 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown, he has WR2 potential in a scrumptious matchup versus the Atlanta Falcons.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith will try and stay hot against a Falcons defense that is allowing the fifth most fantasy points to opposing receivers. Smith is coming off of a 10-catch performance that yielded 157 yards and one touchdown last week and will go up against a Falcons defense that has allowed eight different players to post more than 100 receiving yards against them. Smith has answered the call when opponents try and take away star players Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara. But is as boom-or-bust as it gets on a weekly basis. Smith will be a huge fantasy gamble Thanksgiving night despite the juicy matchup.
New Orleans' WR Tre'Quan Smith scored an impressive 31.70 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Eagles. Smith caught 10 passes for 157 yards with one touchdown. It's the 2nd time this season Smith scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (foot) was not able to practice Monday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Spin: Smith went off for 10 catches and 157 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets yesterday, so his absence would be a big loss for the Saints this Thanksgiving. If he misses practice over the next couple days then we could be looking at an unfortunate doubtful status.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith finished with 10 receptions for a career-high 157 yards and one touchdown with 13 targets in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fantasy Spin: Smith posted his second 100-yard game of the season, and he found the end zone for the fourth time in the past six games. He has emerged as a strong WR3 or flex fantasy play in the high-octane New Orleans offense heading into Week 12 against the Atlanta Falcons on Thanksgiving night.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith caught 10 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown in the Saints 48-7 win over the Eagles. Smith saw a team-high 13 targets in the game as newly signed receiver Brandon Marshall was inactive in this game. Teammate Michael Thomas is still the number one receiver in the offense but this is the second time this year the Saints have exploited a matchup to highlight Smith's skills. Expectations need to be tempered moving forward with the veteran Marshall getting into the mix moving forward.
