New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith posted two grabs for 23 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Fantasy Spin: Smith has posted 11 receptions over the past four games and a total of just 85 yards across the past three. However, he has three scores in the last four outings and he remains a decent WR4 or flex fantasy option in Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith caught three of his four targets for 18 yards in Week 8 versus the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Spin: There is no question Smith has talent, but he is locked into Ted Ginn's old role as the deep threat in an offense in which he trails Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram in terms of priority. If defenses choose to play it safe and keep everything in front of them like Minnesota did in this game, Smith is going to struggle to pay off in fantasy. He'll be a high-upside, low-floor WR4 again in Week 9 when the Saints host the Los Angeles Rams.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith is expected to see a larger role after WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list, and Smith said he is 'ready for the opportunity.'
Fantasy Spin: Smith was able to show that he can be a threat down the field when he caught three passes for 111 and two touchdowns against the Washington Redskins in Week 5. He will be a boom-or-bust flex option against the Ravens in Week 7.
New Orleans' WR Tre'Quan Smith scored 26.10 fantasy points in Monday's Week 5 win against the Redskins. Smith caught three passes for 111 yards with two touchdowns. It's the 1st time this season Smith scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.
New Orleans wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith caught three passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints blowout over the Redskins. The little-used receiver came into the contest with only one reception on the season but delivered some huge plays. None more important than catching a bomb from Drew Brees for a 62-yard touchdown that also gave Brees the most passing yards in NFL history. Smith's huge performance can mostly be chalked up to blown coverage's and the Redskins insistence on taking receiver Michael Thomas out of the equation. This monster game should merely be considered a blip on the radar for now in fantasy.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith rolled up three receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5 against the Washington Redskins on Monday, Oct. 8.
Fantasy Spin: Sean Payton finally kicked off the training wheels and let Smith show what he can do, and he showed off his speed. His 62-yard touchdown was the score which sent Drew Brees over the hump for the NFL's all-time passing yardage record. Smith will be a hot property off of the waiver wire this week, and it's hard to imagine Smith falling back behind Ted Ginn when he returns from injury.
Saints' WR Tre'Quan Smith had 3 receptions for 111 yards with two touchdowns in Monday's win against the Redskins.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith an extremely low-end play again in Week 5. Smith has been held to just one catch for 18 yards so far this season while wide receiver Michael Thomas dominates in receptions. In theory, at some point opposing defenses are going to lock-down Thomas which would require quarterback Drew Brees to spread the ball around. Smith is a talented player who performed well in preseason so it not unreasonable to believe that he should see some more receptions soon. Regardless, Smith should not be played in any fantasy format for now.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith will be more involved in the offense going forward if head coach Sean Payton has his way. 'We've got to find ways to get him more touches,' Payton said. 'He's handling our installation. He knows what we're doing game plan-wise. And I think he's ready to prove that.'
Fantasy Spin: Drew Brees' first reads will almost always be to Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, but the athletic rookie does deserve more attention after only being targeted twice in two games. We know the Saints will be throwing plenty all season, making Smith a worthwhile pickup.
New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith should see an increase in targets as the season progresses. Smith was a standout rookie receiver throughout the Saints training camp and preseason, but the regular season has been taken over by wide receiver Michael Thomas. However, head coach Sean Payton has said that he wants Smith more involved in the offense through design and breaks in coverage. If targets increase, Smith remains as a WR depth option in PPR leagues. With elite players like Thomas and running back Alvin Kamara on the field, Smith's upside is limited, but he could easily become an asset in the Saints above-average offense.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith says that he is nervous but ready for his regular season debut. Smith was selected 91st overall by the Saints in the 2018 draft and has worked his way up to third overall on the depth chart behind wide receivers Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn. If Smith is able to prove himself to quarterback Drew Brees early in the season, he will certainly become a contributor in the explosive Saints offense that finished in the top five in nearly all offensive stats in 2017. Smith is a solid option for some WR depth in PPR leagues.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith has been one of the club's most exciting players in camp, 'routinely making splash plays in both practices and games.' He's exhibited an 'enticing combination of size, speed, hands and big-play ability,' en route to leading the team in catches (11), yards (147) and touchdowns (one) in the preseason.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith caught all four of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in a 36-7 preseason win over the Los Angeles Chargers Saturday, Aug. 25.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith caught three passes for 60 yards in a 20-15 preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals Friday, Aug. 17.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith caught four of his five targets for a team-high 48 yards in a 24-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the preseason Thursday, Aug. 9.
New Orleans Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith has 'handled the install well' during spring practices, according to head coach Sean Payton. 'I think he's a quick study,' Payton said. 'He's big and he's doing a good job.'
