Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols hasn't been a relevant fantasy option in most leagues this season, serving as the team's third-down back. McNichols handled a season-high five carries for 25 yards in Washington's blowout loss last week to the Detroit Lions. The 25 yards were his most in a game since his Week 3 performance against the Raiders, where he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on four carries. The 29-year-old isn't involved enough to be considered outside of the deepest leagues.

Nov 9 10:13pm CT

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols rushed five times for 25 yards and caught one pass for four yards in a 44-22 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: The five carries were a season high for McNichols, and he was the only Washington running back to catch a pass. McNichols' main role has been as the third-down back for Washington, but he will likely need an injury to either Chris Rodriguez Jr. or Jacory Croskey-Merritt to be worth considering as a fantasy starter. In the meantime, McNichols can be stashed as a RB5 in PPR formats.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 10:50am CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols has maintained a consistent role as the team's most trusted option on pass downs. McNichols has totaled 17 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown to go with 12 catches on 17 targets for 129 yards in nine games this season. The 29-year-old led Washington in receiving in their Week 8 loss at Kansas, catching five of his six targets for 64 yards, the second most in a game of his career. That was also his highest snap share in a game this season at 43.4%, but he's mostly been limited to late down responsibilities while rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez Jr. handle the early down carries. In a Week 10 matchup where Washington is a sizable home underdog against the Lions, McNichols could be on the field more often in a negative game script. McNichols has some sneaky PPR value in deeper leagues on Sunday.

From RotoBaller

Nov 7 6:20pm CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols only had one carry for four yards, but he added a season-high five catches on six targets for 64 receiving yards in the Week 8 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs while playing a season-high 43% of the offensive snaps. The 29-year-old couldn't stack another strong game on top of it, though, as he played only 26% of the snaps in the Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and wasn't targeted through the air. McNichols had just one carry again for no gain. It was the first time he was held without a catch since back in Week 3. Fantasy managers definitely can't realistically treat McNichols as a starting option, but both he and Chris Rodriguez Jr. may start to see more involvement with rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt hitting a rookie wall. On the year, McNichols has only 272 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 29 touches.

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols carried the ball once for no gain in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. He was not targeted in the passing game.

From TheHuddle

Oct 31 9:00pm CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols led the team in receiving in their Week 8 loss to the Chiefs, catching five of his six targets for 64 yards and adding one carry for four yards. McNichols has arguably been Washington's most effective back recently, consistently making plays when his number is called. The 29-year-old is tied for the eighth most receiving first downs (seven) despite ranking just 31st in routes run (82) among 54 running backs with at least 50 routes. His 4.58 yards after contact per reception is the third best behind only Jaylen Warren and James Cook. McNichols has been one of the best third-down backs in the league this season and should benefit from the return of star quarterback Jayden Daniels. The veteran still plays predominantly on third downs with rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt filling the early down role. It'll be tough to move the ball on the ground on Sunday Night Football against a Seahawks defense that has allowed a league-best 3.3 yards per carry and tied for the second fewest rushing touchdowns (two) in the league. However, they are tied for the most receptions allowed to opposing running backs (47), which could play in McNichols' favor. McNichols has flex appeal in PPR formats in deeper leagues for Week 9.

From RotoBaller

Oct 28 8:30am CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols only had one carry for four yards against the Chiefs in Week 8, but he had a strong game as a receiver out of the backfield. He actually led the team in catches, targets, and receiving yards, hauling in five of his six targets for 64 yards. Marcus Mariota wasn't able to get much going, especially in the second half, so the team will hope to have Jayden Daniels (hamstring) back next week against the Seahawks. McNichols remains in a backfield committee with rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez Jr., but for now, it looks like he's the preferred passing-down option. He played 42% of snaps since the Commanders were trying to rally. Next week, he'll be a high-risk flex play against the Seahawks, getting a boost if Mariota has to start again since the two have such a strong connection.

Oct 27 11:03pm CT

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols ran once for four yards and caught five passes (on six targets) for a team-best 64 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.

Fantasy Spin: In the last three games, McNichols has totaled 35 yards, 45 yards, and 68 yards while logging 5, 4, and 6 touches, respectively. That's called maximizing your opportunities. We'll see if it leads to an increased role in the weeks ahead, but those in deeper leagues should consider moving to add McNichols. Those in standard leagues can stick him on the watch list.

From TheHuddle

Oct 25 6:50pm CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols has been an important player this season, playing a vital role in pass protection and as a receiving option out of the backfield. McNichols has played at least 25% of offensive snaps over the last five weeks. He had his highest combined yardage total since Week 3 in last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys, handling two carries for 22 yards and catching two of three targets for 23 yards. The 29-year-old has recorded seven targets over the last two weeks and has made big plays when his number has been called. His involvement in the passing game keeps him somewhat relevant in deeper leagues, but he hasn't had more than five touches in any game this season. McNichols will be a touchdown-dependent option in deeper PPR formats for Monday Night Football against the Chiefs.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 2:03am CT

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols carried the ball twice for 22 yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. He also had two receptions for 23 yards.

From TheHuddle

Oct 17 8:20pm CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols continues to play a key role on pass downs, but it hasn't translated to much fantasy production. He had two carries for five yards and added three catches (four targets) for 30 yards last week against the Bears. It was his most productive game as a receiver, but he hasn't had more than four carries in a game all season. With third-year Chris Rodriguez Jr. now off the injury report, he should handle more carries in Week 7 after playing only one snap in Week 6. It's an ideal matchup against a Dallas defense that has allowed the fourth most PPR points per game to opposing running backs, but McNichols hasn't scored more than 6.5 PPR points since Week 3 against the Raiders when he broke off a 60-yard touchdown. He's only an option in deeper leagues for Week 7.

From RotoBaller

Oct 14 1:23am CT

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols ran twice for five yards in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears. He also chipped in with three catches (on four targets) for 30 yards.

From TheHuddle

Oct 10 6:50pm CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols worked mostly behind rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt in Week 5, rushing just once for six yards and catching one of two targets for 12 yards. McNichols matched third-year running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. in snaps, each playing 13 snaps, while Croskey-Merritt led the way with 28. McNichols' role in pass protection is highly valued by the Washington coaching staff and will keep him involved in Washington's backfield committee. But his floor for touches is low, which limits his appeal in fantasy.

From RotoBaller

Oct 5 10:03pm CT

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols rushed once for six yards in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers, while adding a 12-yard reception on two targets.

Fantasy Spin: McNichols is third on the tailback pecking order behind rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez Jr. Both McNichols and Rodriguez are well behind Croskey-Merritt on the depth chart at this point, and McNichols is only worth retaining in deeper fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 3 9:00pm CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols has served as the pass-down back in their three-man running back committee. Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez Jr. have handled the bulk of the running back touches, while McNichols subs in on late downs for prowess as a pass protector. That is the driving factor behind McNichols' volume of snaps, but he's also shown some juice and physicality as a runner. He had one of the highlight runs of the season in Week 3 against the Raiders when he trucked a defender and then exploded for a 60-yard touchdown. McNichols should be expected to serve in his usual role against a tough Chargers defense, limiting his Week 5 appeal to deeper leagues.

From RotoBaller

Sep 28 4:53pm CT

Washington Commanders RB Jeremy McNichols rushed for three yards on two carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. He also caught one pass for zero yards during the game.

Fantasy Spin: McNichols was coming off a productive Week 3 game but received only three touches in Week 4. He is sharing playing time with other backs during games, so his workload likely will change each game. He can probably be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 26 9:00pm CT

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols had one of the highlight plays of the week with a beast mode-style run for a 60-yard touchdown last week against the Raiders. McNichols played the fewest of any Washington back at 23% and had only four carries, but he made the most of his opportunities. The 29-year-old is expected to fill in for Austin Ekeler as the team's third-down back because of his prowess as a pass protector and capability as a receiver. That opens the door for some dump-off passes and checkdowns, making him slightly intriguing. He will mix in occasionally on early downs and earn a few carries, but it won't be huge. McNichols is a desperation start against Atlanta in Week 4.
