Lions' RB Jahmyr Gibbs had 5 receptions for 107 yards but no touchdowns in Sunday's loss in Philadelphia.

Nov 16 11:40pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs struggled to find running room in Sunday night's 16-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, handling 12 carries for 39 yards, but he was dynamic as a receiver with a team-high five catches (eight targets) for 107 yards. Gibbs has now topped 140 yards or more from scrimmage in three of the past four games and was one of the few bright spots in a tough offensive showing from the Lions. The 23-year-old posted his highest receiving total of the season and his most receptions in a game since Week 3. That could be a featured part of Detroit's offense moving forward, with Sam LaPorta (back) placed on injured reserve earlier this week. Gibbs will again rank as one of the elite RBs in fantasy in Week 12 against the New York Giants.

Nov 14 9:50pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs dominated the Washington Commanders in Week 10, recording 172 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns on 18 touches. He'll now face a significantly tougher test in Week 11 when the Lions travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. The Eagles' defense is a mid-pack unit in yards per carry allowed (4.4). However, they rank in the top ten in the NFL in per-game opponent scoring (21.3 points per game). One possible boost for Gibbs' fantasy value in Week 11 is his potential for receiving work. The Lions will be without tight end Sam LaPorta (back) against Philadelphia, which could put Gibbs in position for more targets. Even in a tough matchup, Gibbs profiles as a must-start fantasy running back in Week 11.

Lions' RB Jahmyr Gibbs scored an astounding 38.20 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 10 win in Washington. Gibbs ran for 142 yards and caught three passes for 30 yards with three touchdowns. It's the 3rd time this season Gibbs scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Dynasty | Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had 142 rushing yards, three catches, 30 receiving yards and three touchdowns in a win against the Commanders. Dynasty Analysis: He did all this on only 18 touches. It was a ridiculously efficient game for Gibbs, who averaged 9.5 yards per carry and ten yards per catch on the day. We've seen games like this from Gibbs before, so we know it's no fluke. He remains one of the top players in the dynasty format and today just solidified it further.

Nov 9 8:00pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had 15 carries for 142 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns during Sunday's Week 10 win over the Washington Commanders. He also caught three of his four targets for an additional 30 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Just one week removed from a disappointing showing at home, Gibbs bounced back with a monstrous three-touchdown explosion on the road. This marked his largest fantasy points total of the 2025 season, vaulting him to the overall RB4 spot in PPR leagues. Managers should continue to deploy Gibbs as a high-end RB1 in fantasy football, including next week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nov 7 8:10pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had one of the least productive games of his career in Week 9, recording just 28 yards from scrimmage on 12 touches in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The 23-year-old has been much better for the season overall with 748 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns on 142 touches across eight games. Gibbs will be looking to rebound in Week 10 when Detroit faces the Washington Commanders. Through nine weeks, Washington ranks 22nd in yards per carry allowed (4.4) and 25th in total rushing yards allowed (1,118). Despite the favorable matchup, there is reason for concern along the Lions' offensive line. Detroit will be without starting left guard Christian Mahogany (leg), and starting left tackle Taylor Decker is questionable to play due to a shoulder injury. Even still, Gibbs profiles as a must-start fantasy running back in Week 10.

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had one of his worst games as a pro in his team's 27-24 Week 9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Gibbs was held to 28 scrimmage yards on 12 touches and did not score a touchdown. The 23-year-old has mostly been a fantasy weapon so far this season, recording 748 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns on 142 touches across eight games played. However, there are a couple of worrying signs for Gibbs. He's currently averaging 4.9 yards per carry and 5.3 yards per touch, both of which would be career lows if they were to sustain for the remainder of the season. Additionally, the Lions lost starting left guard Christian Mahogany (knee) to a significant knee injury in Week 9, which could be a major issue for the team's run blocking. Still, Gibbs remains a must-start fantasy running back heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Detroit Lions running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta could be due for contract extensions during the upcoming offseason, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Gibbs has been terrific through his first three pro seasons. He totaled over 1,250 scrimmage yards and 11 touchdowns in each of his first two campaigns, and he's on track to surpass those marks in 2025. The 23-year-old is under contract through 2026, and the team will likely exercise his fifth-year option to keep him in tow through 2027. That leaves Detroit with time to extend Gibbs, but it could also be in their best interest to finalize an extension sooner rather than later. LaPorta, meanwhile, does not have a fifth-year option, so he'll hit free agency after the 2026 campaign. Schefter notes that it can be easier for teams to re-sign tight ends than some of the other positions, such as running back. Nevertheless, the Lions may have to pull off some cap gymnastics to sign Gibbs and LaPorta, as well as linebacker Jack Campbell and safety Brian Branch, after already paying significant money to Jared Goff, Aidan Hutchinson, Penei Sewell, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kerby Joseph, Alim McNeill, Taylor Decker, David Montgomery, and Jameson Williams.

Through his first seven games of 2025, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has recorded 720 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns on 130 touches. In his final outing before Detroit's Week 8 bye, Gibbs racked up 218 scrimmage yards and two scores in 20 touches against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 9, Gibbs and the Lions will face a Minnesota Vikings defense that has been roughly mid-pack against the run. Through eight weeks, Minnesota ranks 20th in rushing yards allowed (913) and 10th in rushing touchdowns allowed (five). Gibbs had two monster performances against the Vikings in 2024, recording a combined 327 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns on 47 touches. Lions RB2 David Montgomery did not play in one of those games, but Gibbs' history of success against Minnesota is still noteworthy. He profiles as a must-start fantasy running back in Week 9.

Detroit's RB Jahmyr Gibbs scored an impressive 36.80 fantasy points in Monday's Week 7 win against the Buccaneers. Gibbs ran for 136 yards and caught three passes for 82 yards with two touchdowns. It's the 2nd time this season Gibbs scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Oct 20 11:20pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs erupted against Tampa Bay on Monday night, handling 17 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns and adding three receptions (three targets) for 82 yards. Gibbs delivered his statement performance of the season, surpassing 100 rushing yards for the first time this year. His 218 total yards were more than double his previous season high of 104, which came back in Week 2 against the Bears. His 82 receiving yards were also the second most in a game in his career. The superstar running back has once again been a touchdown machine this season and remains one of the premier players in fantasy football.

Oct 18 9:30pm CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has been a featured piece in his team's offense all season long, recording 502 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns on 110 total touches. However, Gibbs has seen his role in the passing game decrease in recent games. After earning 19 targets across the first three weeks of the season, he's seen just six over the last three. If Gibbs is not featured as a receiver in Week 7, he may have a difficult time producing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay currently ranks fifth in the NFL in yards per carry allowed. If there's a bright spot for Gibbs, it's that he logged seven receptions in Detroit's Week 2 matchup against Tampa Bay last season. The 23-year-old still profiles as a must-start fantasy running back in Week 7, even in a less-than-ideal matchup against the Buccaneers.

Oct 14 11:30am CT

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs posted his least efficient game of the season in his team's 30-17 Week 6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Gibbs recorded just 65 rushing yards on 17 carries and zero receiving yards on one catch. He also failed to find the end zone for just the second time in six games so far this season. On the bright side, Gibbs has now recorded at least 15 touches in five out of six games in 2025 after failing to do that in six out of 17 games in 2024. The 23-year-old remains a must-start fantasy running back heading into a Week 7 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Oct 10 5:00pm CT

Even in a relatively quiet game by his standards, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was still able to record 87 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 14 touches in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Gibbs logged fewer touches than fellow Lions back David Montgomery for the first time this season, but that could be due to Detroit holding a large lead for most of the game and the fact that Montgomery is a Cincinnati native. Gibbs will now square off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6, who have been a below-average rushing defense so far this season. Through five games, Kansas City ranks 24th in rushing touchdowns allowed (six) and 26th in yards per carry allowed (4.8). Gibbs should be heavily featured in the Lions' game plan and profiles as a must-start fantasy running back in Week 6.

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 54 yards on 12 carries during Sunday's Week 5 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He also caught two passes for 33 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown reception. If not for finding the end zone, Gibbs would have had a relatively modest final line of 14 touches and 87 yards, so fantasy managers will appreciate that he was able to cross the goal line. It was interesting to see David Montgomery reclaim the lead-back role with his 18 carries, but that could have been a product of the game script. It also may have been part of the Lions' effort to honor the narrative of Montgomery returning to his birthplace of Cincinnati once the score got out of hand. Whatever the reason, managers should have no concerns about Gibbs going forward. He remains one of the league's most talented and versatile running backs, and it doesn't hurt that he plays for a high-powered offense within a 4-1 team. The 23-year-old remains a mid-range RB1 option in fantasy football for Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
