New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was ranked as the No. 2 overall wideout in the league, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Though Fowler has Julio Jones ahead of the former Buckeye, Thomas will still likely remain to be one of the first players off the board in fantasy drafts for the 2020 campaign. The 27-year-old was the clear-cut best receiver in the league last season, finishing things up with a career-high 1,725 yards off of 149 catches to go along with nine touchdowns. Look for him to be taken within the first five selections in the majority of fantasy drafts heading into the year.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is the top-ranked wideout on Sports Illustrated's Big Board for the upcoming campaign. Thomas finished 2019 miles ahead of the No. 2 receiver in all formats. While contributor Bill Enright doesn't foresee another record-breaking season for the 27-year-old, he expects him to lead the league once again in many statistical categories. Thomas will hopefully be catching passes from Drew Brees for an entire 16-game stretch in 2020, with the future hall of fame signal-caller also having the luxury of playing behind one of the most efficient offensive lines in the league.

Jun 28 7:43pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has hauled in 57.4 percent of his contested catch opportunities since 2016, according to Pro Football Focus. That mark ranks third in the league over that span.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas, who had his third straight 100-catch season in 2019, is in consideration as the best at his position after setting an NFL record with 149 receptions last season. At 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, Thomas is a bully on the outside with a hard-nosed playing style. The 27-year-old has gone over the 1,000-yard mark in each of his first four seasons, totaling 298 first downs thanks to his sneaky running skills. The Saints and quarterback Drew Brees feed Thomas early and often as their clear No. 1 wideout, and opponents just haven't been able to stop him. He is an elite fantasy wideout that should be the first wide receiver off the board in all formats.

Jun 16 11:40am ET

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas "better break some more records," remarked receivers coach Curtis Johnson when asked how the star wideout could improve this upcoming season. The 27-year-old has a solid chance to do so as he was dominant in 2019. He finished by catching 149 of his 185 targets for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns in addition to being one of the most efficient fantasy options throughout the year. He is expected to be the first wide receiver off the board in fantasy drafts for the 2020 campaign, with a potential No. 1 overall selection also being a possibility.

Jun 6 12:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas set an NFL record with 149 catches in 2019, 91 of which netted the team a first down (most in the NFL), including nine touchdowns. Next Gen Stats shows that 97 of his catches came on short passes, which was 35 more than any other receiver. Thomas also caught 68.3 percent of his targets of 10-plus air yards, which was the best rate in the NFL among those with a minimum of 25 such targets. When Thomas wasn't targeted, he ranked third last year in his ability to attract an opponent's best and/or multiple defensive backs. The 27-year-old typically doesn't have massive weekly performances, but he sees a ton of looks from Drew Brees and is the safest receiver option you can find in fantasy. Thomas is worth considering as a top-five fantasy pick as the top wideout off the board in the first round.

Jun 1 3:10pm ET

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas set the single-season receptions record in 2019 with 149 catches. Thomas was also one of just four wideouts with at least 50 targets who posted a catch percentage that was 10 percent above expectation, according to Next Gen Stats. He also had the highest target total of 185, 28 more than anyone else. But Thomas had just 8.1 air yards per target and produced the second-lowest average cushion among receivers at 4.8 yards. Opposing defenses pressed Thomas early and often, but Drew Brees continued to target him in small windows. Thomas was targeted on 31.9 percent of his routes run. With Brees still around for another season and Emmanuel Sanders joining the club to take some attention off of Thomas, the 27-year-old should produce another outstanding season. Thomas should be the first receiver off the board in the first round of drafts.

May 28 10:23pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has been targeted 118 times on slant routes over the course of his four-year career and caught 97 of them for 988 yards - good for a success rate of 85 percent.

From TheHuddle

May 26 8:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has recorded an NFL-best 299 receptions that resulted in first downs or touchdowns since entering the league in 2016, according to Pro Football Focus.

From TheHuddle

May 20 9:10am ET

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is the favorite to lead the league in receiving yards in 2020, according to Caesars Sportsbook. Thomas finished the 2019 campaign with a league-leading 1,725 yards. Additionally, he caught 149 of his 185 targets, and also had nine touchdowns, finishing behind Cooper Kupp and Kenny Golladay. With Drew Brees returning for his final year and the Saints having one of the easiest schedules in the league, Thomas could be in store for another record-setting season in 2020. He is projected to be the first wideout off the board in fantasy drafts, but the case could be made for the 27-year-old to be the first overall selection for those who value his position over others.

From RotoBaller

May 19 6:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas isn't disclosing his offseason workout program, but he vows to be ready whenever he's needed on the field with teammates. 'I'll be ready when the season comes,' Thomas said. 'More than ready.'

Fantasy Spin: Thomas had a career year in 2019 while leading the NFL with 149 receptions and 1,725 receiving yards, despite QB Drew Brees missing time due to injury. In an offseason where every team is expected to have a little less preparation time, Thomas' status as a top-two or three fantasy option will only be more accentuated.

From TheHuddle

May 16 12:43pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught 80.5 percent of his 185 targets in 2019 to lead all wide receivers with at least 75 targets.

Fantasy Spin: Targeting Thomas has proven to be a model of efficiency as he's reeled in at least 76 percent of his targets in three of his four seasons with the Saints. He's been a top-10 fantasy wideout in all four campaigns and slots right back in there in the 2020 preseason rankings -- and that's PPR or standard scoring.

From TheHuddle

May 13 12:49pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas was targeted on a league-high 31.1 percent of his team's pass attempts in 2019.

Fantasy Spin: This is the kind of thing one would expect from a receiver who was targeted 185 times in a season like Thomas was last year. The Ohio State product has commanded a target share of at least 25 percent in each of the last three seasons, so no one should expect that to change in 2020 despite the addition of Emmanuel Sanders. Thomas is perhaps the safest pick a fantasy owner can make in the first round of drafts, as he has topped 90 catches, 1,100 yards and five touchdowns in each of his first four seasons.

From TheHuddle

Apr 12 5:43pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas was charged with only three drops on 147 targets in 2018 - a drop percentage of two percent - but committed six drops on 185 targets in 2019 - a drop percentage of 3.2.
