The New York Giants Defense has some sneaky fantasy appeal in DFS and deep leagues on Sunday against the Cardinals. Even if the Cardinals are likely to score points against the Giants, they allow the sixth-most sacks while the Giants have recorded 13 sacks over the last four games. The Giants are also tied for fifth with six interceptions, so they might be able to take advantage of rookie Kyler Murray. They shouldn't be count on in most fantasy leagues, but they make for an interesting DFS option.

The New York Giants Defense came to play early in Thursdays game, but they weren't done any favors by their offense. In the second quarter, the Giants defense sacked Brady and returned the ensuing fumble for a touchdown to tie the game at 14; yet, Daniel Jones and Co. kept consistently turning the ball over or failing to mount a drive. The Patriots scored on a blocked punt and a fumble returned for a touchdown to make the score seem even worse than it could have been. The Giants were able to sack Brady three times and intercept him once, which continues their upward trend. The team is making improvements on the defensive end and could be a usable DFS punt option next week against the Cardinals.

It goes without saying, but the New York Giants Defense is not a usable fantasy option on Thursday against the Patriots. The Patriots are tied for the league-lead in touchdowns. The Giants defense has allowed the ninth-most touchdowns. The Giants' three best offensive players are unlikely to play, which means the offense won't be able to give the Giants defense much of a chance to rest. We've used more words than we needed to say, don't play the Giants defense.

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman (concussion) and WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) did not practice for a second straight day Tuesday, Oct. 8. TE Evan Engram (knee), RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Lorenzo Carter (neck) were limited. New York Giants LB Alec Ogletree (hamstring) practiced in full Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Fantasy Spin: Ogletree has a decent matchup against the New England Patriots that like to throw to their backs. He's a flex option that has some tackle upside.

The New York Giants Defense had its moments on Sunday in a 28-10 loss to the Vikings. With the team's offense not moving the ball at all, the defense was asked to stop the Vikings on a lot of short field drives, so the score could have been a lot worse had they not held the Vikings to four field goals. The Giants were also able to sack Kirk Cousins three times and recovered one fumble. With a lot of young pieces on their defense, it's possible they become a streaming option later in the season, but you should stay far away next week against the Patriots.

The New York Giants Defense is coming off a strong showing against the Washington Redskins, where they intercepted four passes and recorded three sacks. The Vikings are not the Redskins. For all of Kirk Cousins' flaws, he's only thrown two interceptions this season, and the Vikings offensive line has allowed eight sacks. The Giants also allowed 330 rushing yards over the first three games before facing the Redskins inept backfield. With Dalvin Cook coming to town, that could spell disaster. All of that doesn't even factor in Adam Thielen complaining about the team not throwing the ball enough, which might lead to a Squeaky Wheel situation against one of the league's worst secondaries. Simply put, the Vikings don't make enough mistakes for the Giants to be a high upside unit this week, and the floor is simply too low.
