2019 RTSports Outlook

Thomas split his season last year with the Broncos and Texans, finishing with 59 receptions for 677 yards and five touchdowns. His numbers were his lowest since 2011. Thomas also tore his Achilles' late in the season (Week 16), missing the last week of the year. Thomas had one 100-yard game but that was his only game with more than 65 yards. He was mediocre most weeks. Thomas is 31 years old and returning from a major injury. He should be ready for the start of this year, but you have to worry about his age and health moving forward. Thomas signed with the Patriots this offseason and will look to carve out a niche with his new team. He remains a big, physical receiver, but also has good speed, making him a big-play threat whenever the ball is in his hands. He really is the complete package at receiver when healthy and on his game. Fantasy Outlook: Thomas is trending the wrong way. He can rebound some after last year, especially in a good passing attack looking for options, but don't expect him to return to his form of past years. He should be considered a No. 3 or 4 fantasy receiver. Thomas can get around 75 receptions for 900 yards and six or so scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Its still up in the air whether Demaryius Thomas will be on the Patriots or not when week 1 rolls around. He hasnt been activated from the PUP list yet and itll cost him six weeks if he cant get healthy enough to do so before opening day. Even if he is healthy, the Patriots have a ton of competition at WR and Thomas isnt a guarantee to see much playing time. The upside is certainly there without an established WR1, but its looking like some other names are starting to stand out in camp. You can safely avoid Thomas.

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas caught six passes for 84 yards against the New York Giants in Week 10. He was targeted nine times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas bounced back after a disappointing Week 9 game with his best game of the season. He has been targeted five times in three of the last four games and appears to be one of the main options in the passing game. He should have a favorable matchup next week and can be a No. 3 receiver or flex option.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 5:30pm ET

Demaryius Thomas made six catches for 84 yards in a win over the Giants Sunday. Thomas had been the forgotten man in this offense, only getting eight targets over the last two games, but was targeted a team-high nine times in this one as it continues to be fool's errand to predict his weekly usage. Thomas was involved early in this one making three catches on the opening drive and running routes that were clearly drawn up to get him the ball. Thomas is still the third option in a bad offense so he won't carry much fantasy appeal moving forward, but he could be used as a flex in deeper leagues in a good matchup next week at Washington.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 12:03pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is officially active for the team's Week 10 game.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas likely will receive some targets in the passing game and should have success against the New Giants. He can be considered at least a flex option in deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 5:33pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas has posted at least 60 yards in two of the last four games but is coming off a disappointing Week 9 game. He should have a favorable matchup this week and could be a possible flex option in some deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 4:33pm ET

New York Jets LB C.J. Mosley (groin) was held out of practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 10 against the New York Giants. C Ryan Kalil (knee) did not practice all week, while CB Darryl Roberts was unable to practice for the second straight day on Friday, Nov. 8; both players are listed as doubtful. LB Neville Hewitt (neck, knee) was limited in practice all week and is also listed as doubtful. RB Le'Veon Bell (knee, ankle), DL Henry Anderson (shoulder), OT Kelvin Beachum (ankle), TE Chris Herndon (hamstring), LB Jordan Jenkins (calf), DL Steve McLendon (neck), WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) and OG Brian Winters (knee, shoulder) were limited in practice Friday and are listed as questionable. CB Blessuan Austin (knee) was added to the injury report Friday but has also been cleared to play.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 3:20pm ET

New York Jets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is not a good starting option this week despite facing a Giants Defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Thomas is the clear third option among Jets wide receivers and only had three targets last week at Miami. In addition to inconsistent targets, Thomas has a sub-60 percent catch rate on the season and yet to find the end zone. Thomas is droppable in almost all formats if you picked him up when there were trade rumors around number one wide receiver Robby Anderson.

From RotoBaller

Nov 7 7:23pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 7.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas had a favorable matchup last week but finished with only two catches and 19 yards. He will be looking to bounce back against the New York Giants and could be a possible flex option in deeper leagues with six teams on bye.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 4:53pm ET

New York Jets C Ryan Kalil (knee), LB C.J. Mosley (groin) and CB Darryl Roberts did not practice Thursday, Nov. 7. From TheHuddle

Nov 6 4:53pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas had a favorable matchup last week but finished with only 19 yards. He should have a favorable matchup again this week against the New York Giants. He could be a flex option since six teams are on bye but is not a must-start option.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 10:40pm ET

New York Jets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas had two receptions for 19 yards in a loss to the Dolphins Sunday. Thomas had been getting more involved in the offense, but was targeted just three times in this one as the Jets offense struggled all afternoon. Thomas is the clear third option behind Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder in a bad offense and won't have much use in fantasy unless he gets more consistent targets or someone else is out of the lineup. He'll face the Giants next week but is nothing more than a desperation flex in deep leagues.

From RotoBaller

Nov 3 6:33pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas caught two passes for 19 yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9. He was targeted three times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas has been playing well over the last few weeks but was not able to find success against the Dolphins. He will be facing the New York Giants next week and could be a flex option in leagues because of the favorable matchup.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 12:03pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is officially active for the team's Week 9 game.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas has been a solid target in the passing game for the Jets over the last few weeks and will have a favorable matchup this week. He can be at least a flex option in deeper fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 12:00pm ET

New York Jets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (ankle, hamstring), who was listed as questionable, is active for Week 9 against the Dolphins. Thomas has had a solid 14 targets the last two weeks with Sam Darnold back at quarterback as the No. 3 receiver behind Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder. DT remains more of a WR4/5 in season-long leagues, but there's no denying that he has a great opportunity against Miami's soft secondary this weekend. Thomas isn't a bad low-priced DFS sleeper on Sunday in a bounce-back spot for Gang Green's offense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 2 10:50am ET

New York Jets wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is expected to play through a questionable tag in a great matchup with the Dolphins Sunday. Thomas has battled several injuries this season but has played four straight weeks and has 27 targets over those four games. Even though Thomas has been getting more targets, it's hard to trust him in fantasy as he hasn't done much with them with a 63-yard performance vs Jacksonville last week his high yardage total in any game this year while still looking for his first touchdown. Thomas is a desperation flex at best in deeper leagues.

From RotoBaller

Nov 1 7:13pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (ankle, hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 1, and is listed as questionable for Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas should be able to play this week and will have a favorable matchup. He has been more involved in the passing game over the last few weeks and can be a flex option in some leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 1 4:53pm ET

New York Jets WR Josh Bellamy (foot, shoulder), CB Trumaine Johnson (ankles), C Ryan Kalil (knee, elbow), S Rontez Miles (neck, hip) and LB C.J. Mosley (groin) were unable to practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins. LB Neville Hewitt (neck, knee) was upgraded to a limited practice Friday, Nov. 1, but is listed as doubtful. OT Kelvin Beachum (ankle), WR Braxton Berrios (hamstring), TE Chris Herndon (hamstring), DL Steve McLendon (hamstring) and WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, ankle) were limited Friday, Nov. 1, and are listed as questionable. DL Henry Anderson (shoulder), RB Ty Montgomery (non-injury), OG Brian Winters (shoulder, knee), LB Brandon Copeland (thumb), WR Jamison Crowder (knee), QB Sam Darnold (thumb), DL Folorunso Fatukasi (knees), CB Nate Hairston (thumb, knee), OG Alex Lewis (elbow, neck), WR Vyncint Smith (ankle, elbow), S Jamal Adams (foot) and OT Chuma Edoga (ankle) practiced in full Friday but no longer appears on the injury report. LB Frankie Luvu (neck) also practiced in full after getting added to the injury report Friday but has also been cleared to play.

From TheHuddle

Oct 31 7:43pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (ankle, hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 31.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas appears to be on track to play in Week 9 even though he has been limited over the last two days. He has received a solid role in the passing game over the last few weeks and can be at least a flex option this week against the Miami Dolphins.

From TheHuddle

Oct 30 6:53pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas is coming off his best game of the season but is still looking for his first touchdown of the season. He will have a favorable matchup this week and can be considered at least a flex option in leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 10:23pm ET

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas caught all five of his targets for 63 yards in a 29-15 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8.

Fantasy Spin: Thomas has topped 60 yards in two of the last three games, and while he has been one of Sam Darnold's favorite targets, his limited upside makes him more of a depth option than a fantasy starter.
