New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell declined to give his current weight during his introductory press conference Thursday, March 14, but he stated he has been working out five days per week since December and will be ready for the offseason program.

Mar 14 11:20pm ET

New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell insists that he's in great shape despite sitting out all of last season. "It's the best my body's really ever felt in my life," Bell declared. "There's nothing that even comes close to comparing how I feel. Literally just resting and letting my body heal. ... My body got so much rest, I've got so much built up in me, it's time to let go. This is the best I've literally ever felt in my life -- that I can remember." Bell will have all offseason and training camp to get into football shape, so we're not really worried about his conditioning for the 2019 season. He does have a lot of tread on his tires already, but he's one of the most versatile and productive backs in the game and should see a heavy amount of touches per game. He'll be in consideration for a top-five fantasy pick with Gang Green.

Mar 14 10:33pm ET

New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell said he wants to be a 'security blanket' for QB Sam Darnold.

Fantasy Spin: Bell probably isn't going to finish as the top fantasy back after ending up with the Jets, but his ability to also help in the passing game should help him stay firmly in the RB1 mix.

Mar 14 7:23pm ET

Free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) officially signed with the New York Jets Thursday, March 14.

Mar 13 11:43am ET

New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell was a strong target of the San Francisco 49ers before the Jets eventually signed him, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: It would have been an even more interesting backfield in San Francisco had this worked out, but the situation is now moot. Bell is the featured back for the Jets and deserves to be drafted later in the first round or early in the second round.

Mar 13 12:53am ET

Impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell's reported four-year, $52.5 million contract with the New York Jets includes $35 million guaranteed and has a max value of $61 million, according to a source.

Mar 13 12:50am ET

Free-agent running back Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) and the New York Jets have agreed to terms on a four-year deal worth $52.5 million on Tuesday, a source said. Bell has been a workhorse over his career, amassing 5,336 rushing yards with 35 touchdowns over the ground over 62 NFL games in five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has averaged 4.3 yards per carry, and gives the New York run game a huge shot in the arm, perhaps their biggest star in the backfield since Curtis Martin. The Jets bolstered their offensive line a bit with the addition of Kevin Zeitler in a trade, but Bell won't have the luxury of as dynamic of a pass attack as he had in Pittsburgh. Still, he improves the pass game with his solid hands out of the backfield. He'll once again be a decent early-round fantasy pick on draft day now that the black cloud of contract impasse in Pittsburgh is in the rear-view mirror.

Mar 13 12:33am ET

Impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) reportedly plans to sign with the New York Jets, according to a league source. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the contract will be worth $52.5 million over four years.

Fantasy Spin: The Jets have been considered the frontrunners for a while and were potentially the only team willing to come close to paying him what he wanted. While New York isn't a dream destination for his fantasy outlook, Bell has no real competition for massive volume with the Jets. He doesn't figure to be the elite fantasy back he was with the Steelers, but he should have no issue being a mid-tier RB1.

Mar 12 6:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) has until tonight to decide whether or not he wants to sign with the New York Jets, according to NFL Network's Michael Silver. The Jets' offer is not expected to last later than this evening.

Mar 12 3:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell has not had any talks with the Baltimore Ravens this week, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: It appears the Ravens are looking to sign Mark Ingram, so Bell will need to find another team to join. He will be a No. 1 running back in all fantasy leagues not matter where he signs.

Mar 12 3:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell has been given a deadline from the New York Jets to decide whether he will accept their contract offer, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: Bell has been linked to several teams this offseason with the Jets being considered the frontrunner. He can be a factor in the running and passing game and will be a No. 1 fantasy running back no matter where he plays in 2019.

Mar 12 1:43pm ET

The Oakland Raiders remain a candidate to sign free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell (Steelers). 'The water is still warm,' a team beat reporter tweeted Tuesday, March 12.

Fantasy Spin: Bell reuniting with former Steelers teammate Antonio Brown out West would be intriguing to say the least, but wherever Bell lands, RB1 fantasy expectations will follow.

Mar 12 1:13pm ET

Free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell has received a final offer Tuesday, March 12, from the New York Jets. The offer reportedly contains solid guarantees and incentives but the final numbers won't be 'earth-shattering.'

Fantasy Spin: While plenty of other big $$$ has gone elsewhere so far in the first 24 hours of free agency, the market has been cool so far for one of the most notable free agents and prime fantasy stars. Don't be surprised if Bell continues to wait things out.

Mar 12 12:13am ET

Impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) is expected to decide on his new team Tuesday, March 12.

Fantasy Spin: The New York Jets are considered the frontrunners for his services, but they have made it clear they don't want to bid against themselves and/or break the bank to land Bell. The reality is he probably has a handful of teams willing to spend between somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 million per year for him but no one willing to set the market. Wherever he lands, he should see enough volume to be a solid fantasy RB1, but not at the elite level he displayed in Pittsburgh.

Mar 11 4:33pm ET

Updating an ongoing story, Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell still drawing interest from the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Oakland Raiders, per sources. The Jets are the front runner, according to multiple sources.

Mar 11 1:23pm ET

Impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) is no longer expected to be a target of the Oakland Raiders after the team invested in WR Antonio Brown and OT Trent Brown. Oakland reportedly does not have enough money to acquire Bell following those signings.

Mar 11 12:33pm ET

Impending free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell (Steelers) is expected to get pursued by 'at least a half-dozen teams' during the legal tampering period, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, who is reporting the list of potential suitors that includes the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders.

Mar 3 8:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is receiving 'little interest' from the New York Jets, according to Tony Pauline of, and Pauline said the Jets are likely to target a second-tier back in free agency.

Fantasy Spin: Whichever team ends up shelling out big money for Bell is going to make him the centerpiece of the offense, so he'll remain a RB1 no matter where he signs.

Feb 27 8:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell and WR Antonio Brown are unlikely to receive much interest from the Indianapolis Colts, according to comments made by general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Frank Reich on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

Fantasy Spin: While no reporter mentioned Bell or Brown by name - and obviously Ballard nor Reich did not either, as to avoid any potential of tampering - there was apparently no mystery that Bell and Brown were the type of players being discussed. Ballard and Reich both emphasized how young their team is, so while running back and wide receiver are positions of need and Indianapolis has a ton of cap room, the Colts will only bring in outside help if they feel those veterans will blend in seamlessly.

Feb 24 12:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers RB and pending free-agent Le'Veon Bell on Saturday, Feb. 23, hinted at an interest in signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter.

Fantasy Spin: Bell switching sides of the Keystone State to join the Eagles is one of the more intriguing and prevalent rumors out there (along with Bell landing with the Jets or Colts). Wherever he lands, the elite RB1 expectations will be sure to follow.
