Brady played fine last year but didn't produce his usual fantasy numbers, finishing 13th overall in fantasy quarterback scoring. He wasn't quite as consistent as past seasons, having one or no scores seven games. He still had his usual huge games but was a little more inconsistent for his fantasy owners. This could be a trend for Brady, who turns 42 years old before the start of the season. Brady has 10 4,000-yard seasons for his career and thrown fewer than 10 interceptions four of five seasons. Brady does a great job of distributing the ball to all his options and rarely turns the ball over. He has a strong arm and is extremely accurate. Brady knows the offense well and has made the most of his abilities throughout his career.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Brady isn't quite the elite option of past years. He doesn't have the top options in the passing game as past year and his numbers suffered some last year because of this. His age also is a concern as well as his interception total (11) rising last year. Consider him a low-end No. 1, finishing with similar numbers to last season. Brady can get around 4,300 yards and 30 touchdowns with minimal interceptions.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady continues defy the concepts of age and time. Brady's 2018 season included: his 10th 4,000-yard season, his 14th season of 25-plus touchdowns and, of course, his sixth Super Bowl. Brady has proven time and time again that he is, perhaps, the greatest quarterback of all time. But for fantasy owners, Brady will be one of the biggest buyer beware cases of 2019. The first statistic to keep in mind is that Brady finished 14th among quarterbacks in fantasy points last season. The 41-year-old threw for one or fewer touchdowns in eight games in 2018, including a five-game stretch when he only threw for four touchdowns. He also feasted on the lesser competition of his division, tossing 12 touchdowns to only two interceptions in four games against the Jets and Dolphins. It would be unwise to completely write Brady off for 2019 but fantasy owners need to draft him appropriately. Brady should certainly be drafted (albeit the later rounds) and will still put up some elite performances, especially against his own division. But ideally Brady is merely a matchup-based play at this point in his career and fantasy teams would be wise to roster two quarterbacks if Brady is drafted in 2019.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow, toe) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Fantasy Spin: Brady is coming off one of his better games of the season last week but only has five touchdowns in the last four games. He will be facing an improving Kansas City Chiefs defense this week but could still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 24 of his 47 passes for 326 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in a Week 13 loss to the Houston Texans. Brady also had a 13-yard run.
Fantasy Spin: When the outcome was in doubt, Brady struggled mightily, only moving the ball effectively once the Texans played soft coverage in garbage time. Incredibly, the Pats nearly recovered an onside kick to give themselves a chance, but ultimately they couldn't recover it, and Brady's efforts amounted to little more than stat padding. The numbers simply haven't been there for Brady since early in the season, and you should think long and hard about your other options before turning to Brady in Week 14.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed 24 of 47 passes for 326 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Patriots 28-22 loss to the Texans. The score does not reflect how badly the Patriots were dominated throughout this game and Brady was under duress early and often. Brady tossed a rare, terribly thrown interception in the first half to set up an easy Texans score. He did rally, however, with three second-half touchdown passes despite the final two coming in garbage time. The sudden fragile state of the Patriots offense aside, Brady posted close to his best fantasy line of the season. The Patriots now must face the Chiefs in Week 14 with an offense that is losing confidence right now.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.
Fantasy Spin: Brady has thrown only two touchdowns in the last three games and has been held to under 260 yards in four of the last five games. He could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues but could also be benched if fantasy players have better options.
New England Patriots TE Ryan Izzo (illness) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 13 against the Houston Texans. LB Kyle Van Noy (illness) did not practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is listed as questionable. S Patrick Chung (illness, heel, chest), LB Jamie Collins (illness), OL Jermaine Eluemunor (illness), CB Stephon Gilmore (illness), LB Dont'a Hightower (illness), CB Joejuan Williams (illness), OT Isaiah Wynn (illness), LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee), OT Marcus Cannon (illness), WR Phillip Dorsett (concussion), S Nate Ebner (ankle, back), WR Julian Edelman (shoulder), CB Jason McCourty (groin), WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle), WR Matthew Slater (hamstring) and OL Byron Cowart (head) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. QB Tom Brady (elbow) returned to a full practice Friday and has been removed from the injury report. DE John Simon (elbow) was not given a practice designation for a second straight day but also no longer appears on the injury report.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) said Friday, Nov. 29, that his elbow injury is improving. 'I actually feel really good -- I mean that,' Brady said.
Fantasy Spin: While Brady hasn't missed any time or has appeared to be hampered in games, his passing numbers of late have been particularly impressive, topping 300 yards once and throwing for multiple TD passes once in his last six outings. He's a QB2 option against the Texans in Week 13.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) was limited in practice Thursday, Nov. 28.
Fantasy Spin: It's a surprising downgrade for Brady, who was listed as a full participant Wednesday. He has a little extra time to get ready this week as the Pats will play the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football. There still shouldn't be much concern.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Fantasy Spin: Brady was limited in practice for much of last week, but he seems to be off to a better start in Week 13. Fantasy managers don't need to have much concern as he heads into a nice matchup against the Houston Texans.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hopes to have more of his offensive weapons back in Week 13 against the Texans. The matchup is certainly favorable, as the Texans Defense is allowing the seventh most fantasy points to opposing passers this season. Houston has allowed three or more touchdown passes to five different quarterbacks, which would be music to the ears of Brady owners in fantasy. The veteran quarterbacks numbers have been on the decline for a month now and has only two multiple-touchdown performances over his last eight games. The Patriots simply are thin at wide receiver and tight end currently, forcing the team to lean on their defense to win games. This again could be the case against the Texans and could prevent Brady from posting top-10 numbers in Week 13.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady finished 17-of-37 for 190 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 versus the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Spin: Whereas Brady was missing throws he usually makes in Week 11, the wind and rain conspired to make it difficult on him against Dallas. Either way, he has accounted for no more than one touchdown in four of his last five games. Brady will have a chance to change that over the next three weeks against the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, but owners should be able to find more upside at the position. The Patriots are playing to their defense these days.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed 17 of 37 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown in the Patriots 13-9 win over the Cowboys. As rain engulfed the field, Brady was able to make just enough plays to pull out the victory. Weather aside, Brady's fantasy production continues to dip. The future Hall of Famer has only five touchdown passes over his last six games and has fallen out of the top-10 among fantasy quarterbacks. The Patriots are currently thin at wide receiver, which should continue to affect Brady's value moving forward.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) is officially active for the team's Week 12 game.
Fantasy Spin: Brady will be without two of his top receivers this week, so he may not be throwing the ball a lot this week. He can be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues but can be benched in standard leagues if fantasy players have better options.
While New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (elbow) appeared on the team's injury report late in the week, his status for Week 12's meeting with the Dallas Cowboys was never really in doubt. Brady will play on Sunday, though an improved Cowboys Defense and some struggles of his own this year make it hard to play him in shallower leagues. Brady's clearly on the downswing of his NFL career and is no longer a "set and forget" fantasy QB1.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) will start Week 12's game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.
Fantasy Spin: Brady had been listed as questionable on the injury report due to a minor elbow problem which caused him to see limited action in practice Friday, Nov. 22. He should be viewed as a low-end QB1 option this week based on his recent struggles, which have included throwing for fewer than 300 passing yards in each of his last four contests, with just four touchdown passes over that stretch.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has been held under 300 passing yards in four straight games and has four touchdowns in that span after topping 300 yards in four of his first six games and throwing 10 touchdowns.
Fantasy Spin: The Patriots continue to pile up wins, but Brady's numbers have left a lot to be desired. Don't hesitate to leave Brady on the bench in Week 12 if better options are available.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) is expected to play in Week 12's game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.
Fantasy Spin: Brady was listed as questionable on the injury report after logging a limited practice session Friday, Nov. 22, because he wanted to manage a minor elbow problem. He can still be viewed as a low-end QB1 in most fantasy leagues, even though he has thrown just four touchdown passes in his last five contests.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (elbow) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 22, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.
Fantasy Spin: Brady likely will be ready to play, but fantasy players should check on the inactive list to make sure. He is on a bit of a cold streak with only four touchdown passes in the last five games. He can still be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will face a Cowboys Defense in Week 12 that is allowing the eighth fewest fantasy points to opposing passers this season. Brady has only four passing touchdowns over his last five games as his wide receivers are dealing with injuries. The Cowboys have allowed only two quarterbacks this season to post more than 20 fantasy points against them and heavy rain is in the forecast for Sunday. Brady and the Patriots offense may opt for a run-heavy game plan and the future Hall of Famer could disappoint in fantasy for Week 12.
New England Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett (concussion), WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle), LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee), S Patrick Chung (heel, chest), DB Nate Ebner (ankle, back), WR Julian Edelman (shoulder), RB Damien Harris (hamstring) and DE John Simon (elbow) were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 22, and are listed as questionable for Week 12 versus the Dallas Cowboys. QB Tom Brady (elbow), OL Marcus Cannon (illness), CB Jason McCourty (groin) and WR Matthew Slater (hamstring) were limited in practice Friday after appearing on the injury report and are also listed as questionable.
The New England Patriots officially activated left tackle Isaiah Wynn (toe) from the Injured Reserve on Tuesday, according to a source. Wide receiver Gunner Olszewski (ankle, hamstring) was placed on Injured Reserve in a corresponding move. Wynn is set to return for Week 12 against the Cowboys, which will be a big boost for New England's struggling offensive line. While Wynn won't be a guaranteed upgrade on Marshall Newhouse, it's a good sign after the Patriots afforded Tom Brady little time to throw in the Week 11 win over the Eagles. Dallas' defensive front will be another tough test, so hopefully Wynn will give Brady better protection on his blind side.
