The Detroit Lions and free-agent wide receiver Danny Amendola (Dolphins) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with a guaranteed base of $4.5 million, according to a source. The deal is incentive-laden, and could be worth as much as $5.75 million, based likely on health and production. The 33-year-old receiver lands with his fourth NFL organization. He posted just 59 grabs for 575 yards and a touchdown in 15 games with the Dolphins last season, and his 9.7 yards per catch were his worst since 2014 in New England. He is still worth a look as a WR4 or WR5 in PPR fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams.

Free-agent WR Danny Amendola (Dolphins) agreed to a one-year deal worth as much as $5.75 million with the Detroit Lions Monday, March 11.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola lands in a spot where he might pose WR5 value, but he's a wildly inconsistent fantasy asset.

Mar 8 10:40pm ET

The Miami Dolphins released wide receiver Danny Amendola on Friday, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 33-year-old veteran lasted just one year in Miami and caught 59 passes for 575 yards and one touchdown in 15 games. Miami will save $6 million by releasing Amendola, and he won't count for anything on the salary cap in 2019. With the Dolphins also likely to move on from Devante Parker this year, the Dolphins will need to build around Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson as their top two receivers. Wilson has the potential to be a PPR beast in 2019.

Mar 8 4:43pm ET

Free-agent WR Danny Amendola (Dolphins) is believed to be interested in signing with the New England Patriots this offseason, according to The Athletic's Jeff Howe.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola played with the Patriots for several seasons before he decided to sign with the Miami Dolphins, so he is familiar with the Patriots. He would be a No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy receiver next season if he joins New England.

Mar 8 4:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola was released Friday, March 8, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola is coming off a decent 2018 season with 575 yards and one touchdown in 15 games. He should receive interest from teams looking for a slot receiver and could be a late-round option in point-per-reception leagues.

Feb 14 11:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola could fill the slot receiver role for the Detroit Lions in 2019 because of his connection to head coach Matt Patricia, in the opinion of Bill Barnwell of ESPN.com.

Feb 8 1:53pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola may be released in Miami due to his $6 million salary, and a return to the New England Patriots would be a likely destination if that happens.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola did lead the team in targets (79), receptions (59) and receiving yards (575) this past season after coming over from the Patriots, but the Dolphins appear ready to tear things down and rebuild, so Amendola indeed might be looking for work.

Dec 30 4:33pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola finished with four grabs for 26 yards on five targets in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola finished his first season in Miami with 59 grabs, 575 yards and just one touchdown. The 33-year-old will head into the 2019 season as a decent WR4 in PPR fantasy formats, with much lesser value in standard play.

Dec 28 5:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) practiced in full for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 28 and he is off the injury report ahead of the Week 17 game with the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola appears to be fine for the finale, and he'll likely see plenty of targets on short to intermediate routes in Buffalo where the temperature will be around the freezing mark with breezy conditions.

Dec 28 2:33pm ET

Miami Dolphins S T.J. McDonald (ankle) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills. DE Andre Branch (knee), DT Ziggy Hood (hamstring) and CB Xavien Howard (knee) were limited in practice Friday, Dec. 28, and are listed as questionable. LB Kiko Alonso (knee, hamstring) returned to a full practice Friday and is also listed as questionable. QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder, ankle) and OT Laremy Tunsil (knee) remained limited Friday but no longer appear on the injury report. CB Walt Aikens (hand), WR Danny Amendola (knee), CB Cornell Armstrong (ankle), LB Mike Hull (shoulder, knee), OT Ja'Wuan James (Achilles'), S Reshad Jones (shoulder) and CB Bobby McCain (ankle) participated fully in practice Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Dec 27 4:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins FS T.J. McDonald (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 27. OT Laremy Tunsil (knee), CB Xavien Howard (knee), DT Ziggy Hood (hamstring), DE Andre Branch (knee), LB Kiko Alonso (knee, hamstring) and CB Walt Aikens (hand) were limited. WR Danny Amendola (knee), CB Cornell Armstrong (ankle), LB Mike Hull (shoulder, knee), OT Ja'Wuan James (Achilles'), FS Reshad Jones (shoulder) and CB Bobby McCain (ankle) practiced in full.

Dec 26 4:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola was getting the typical mid-week veteran's rest to preserve him for game day. If he is able to play he is a decent low-end WR4 or flex fantasy option in the regular season finale in Buffalo.

Dec 26 4:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee), DE Andre Branch (knee) and S T.J. McDonald (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26. CB Walt Aikens (hand), LB Kiko Alonso (knee, hamstring), DT Ziggy Hood (hamstring), CB Xavien Howard (knee), QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder, ankle) and OT Laremy Tunsil (knee) were listed as limited participants. CB Cornell Armstrong (ankle), LB Mike Hull (shoulder, knee), FS Reshad Jones (shoulder) and CB Bobby McCain (ankle) practiced in full.

Dec 23 4:30pm ET

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Danny Amendola led the team in receiving in Miami's 17-7 loss to Jacksonville in Week 16. Amendola led the team with a mere 40 receiving yards on three catches, in game where Ryan Tannehill mustered just 146 yards passing. Miami has failed to sustain a reliable wide receiver all season, mainly due to poor quarterback play. Nothing will change next week, which makes Amendola a desperation PPR flex against Buffalo in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 21 3:53pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 21, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola was targeted eight times last week but only finished with 30 yards in that game. He should receive some targets this week but can be benched in most leagues because of the matchup.

Dec 21 2:50pm ET

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Danny Amendola is a poor option in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season, and Amendola has had a total of five catches for 53 yards over his last three games. He did garner eight targets last week, but that's because quarterback Ryan Tannehill had no time to throw and simply hurled the ball towards his slot receiver as pass rushers closed in on him. That could happen again this week, but even so these are low-quality targets. Amendola should be avoided wherever possible this week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 20 6:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola appears to have a decent chance to play in Week 16, but owners will know more about his status later in the week. Amendola probably can be benched in most leagues because of his tough matchup.

Dec 19 5:33pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola was in the shape last week and he was able to play, seeing eight total targets. He remains a decent WR4 or flex fantasy option in most PPR leagues with lesser value in standard play. Check back Friday when the official injury designations are revealed to make sure he is good to go, however.

Dec 19 5:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee), DT Ziggy Hood (hamstring) and S T.J. McDonald (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 19. LB Kiko Alonso (knee, hamstring), CB Cornell Armstrong (ankle), LS John Denney (finger, hamstring), CB Xavien Howard (knee) and QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder, ankle) were listed as a limited participants. RB Kalen Ballage (hip), RB Kenyan Drake (shoulder), OT Ja'Wuan James (shoulder), FS Reshad Jones (shoulder), WR DeVante Parker (shoulder) and C Travis Swanson (ankle) took part in a full practice session.

Dec 16 8:33pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola posted three catches for a team-high 30 yards on eight targets in Week 15 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Spin: Amendola didn't have a big yardage total, but he remains a decent WR4 or flex fantasy option in PPR leagues. He is really about the only Miami pass-catcher that you'd want in terms of fantasy. The Dolphins host the Jaguars in Week 16.
