Zenner injured his back before the start of last season and was released by the Lions. He was picked back up about halfway through the season, though, and ended up getting a lot of work late in the year. He had double-digit carries three of his last four games. Zenner had a season-high 123 total yards and a touchdown in Week 17. He had 265-rushing yards and averaged a career-high 4.8 yards per carry. He will look to build on his finish and battle for a roster spot this year. Zenner isn't flashy but a pretty complete back. He catches the ball well and can make plays between the tackles.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Zenner is hit or miss in a reserve role. And even when playing, he doesn't produce a whole lot for fantasy teams. He might get 200 yards and a score or two.

Detroit Lions RB Zach Zenner (undisclosed) was taken to the medical tent by trainers during the preseason game against the New England Patriots Thursday, Aug. 8.
Detroit Lions RB Zach Zenner could challenge veteran RB C.J. Anderson for the No. 2 spot behind RB Kerryon Johnson, in the opinion of The Detroit News' Justin Rogers, who notes that Zenner's north-south running style is a good fit for the team's blocking scheme.
Fantasy Spin: At this point, Johnson is the only sure thing in the Lions backfield, so you'll need to keep an eye on the preseason to see how Anderson, Zenner and Theo Riddick slot in behind him to see if anyone other than Johnson warrants a selection in fantasy drafts.
Detroit Lions RB Zach Zenner agreed to a new one-year contract with the Lions Tuesday, March 12. Financial terms were not disclosed.
