Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's contract talks are 'still ongoing,' according to general manager Kevin Colbert. 'This is probably his last contract as an NFL player, so it's significant,' Colbert said.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger is coming off of one of his most productive seasons as a passer, and even with the loss of Antonio Brown, he is still a solid bet for low-end QB1 production in 2019.

Mar 8 1:10am ET

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed center Maurkice Pouncey to an extension through the 2021 season on Thursday for an average of $11 million per year, making him the highest-paid center in the league. The 29-year-old has been a foundation on the team's offensive line since he was the 18th overall pick in the 2010 draft. Pouncey is a two-time first-team All-Pro and has gone to seven Pro Bowls. The move to lock Pouncey up is great news for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the running game in 2019 and beyond.

Mar 1 7:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has begun preliminary contract extension talks with the Steelers and could reach an agreement in the near future, according to a source. The extension is expected to run through at least the 2022 season.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger likely will not have Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown next season but is still coming off one of the best seasons of his career. He has a chance to be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback next season despite the losses on offense.

Feb 21 2:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said he supports quarterback Ben Roethlisberger 100 percent as the team's unquestioned leader amid criticism from disgruntled receiver Antonio Brown. "I have no problem with him. He can call me out and thats fine. What he does I totally respect because Ive seen him too many times win games for us and come through in situations," Colbert said. Owner Art Rooney also said last month that they plan to sign Big Ben, 37, to a contract extension. Roethlisberger led the NFL in yards (5,129) and had a career-high 34 touchdowns, so he wasn't as washed up as most fantasy owners thought before the season. He'll still be in play as a QB1 next season, but losing Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown -- two of the best playmakers in football -- will surely hurt his overall ceiling.

Jan 24 12:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II said the team has already started talking about a contract extension with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who will be in the final year of his current deal in 2019. So, I think that Ben has some good years left. Hes still, I would say, close to being in the prime of his career and now that we see quarterbacks around the league that are playing into their 40s, I am not sure there is any reason why Ben cant play for several more years. So we are looking forward to that," Rooney said. Big Ben will be 37 in March, but he threw for a career-high 5,129 yards last season and also posted a career-high 34 touchdowns against 16 interceptions. Injuries are a concern as he ages, as well as the fact that Antonio Brown might not be with the team next year, but Roethlisberger still profiles as a sturdy QB1 for fantasy owners as long as he continues playing.

Jan 23 8:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has started contract extension talks with the Steelers, according to owner Art Rooney II. Rooney said he believes Roethlisberger could play for several more seasons.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger recorded career-highs in yards (5,129) and touchdowns (34) this season but could lose Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown this offseason. He will still have several receivers to work with and can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper fantasy leagues in 2019.

Jan 5 1:10pm ET

The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to restructure quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's contract before the new league year begins on March 13, according to league sources. It would give the team more salary cap room if they decide to trade wide receiver Antonio Brown. The 36-year-old was one of the best fantasy QBs in 2018, throwing for a career-high 5,129 yards, 34 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He'll head into 2019 as a strong QB1 target despite his age, although losing Brown would certainly be a hit to his value.

Jan 5 12:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is expected to restructure his contract and receive an extension before the start of the new league year so the team could create some salary cap space.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger played well this season, but it is not known who he will be throwing to next season. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback next season at this point.

Dec 31 1:03am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger finished 31-of-45 for 287 yards and a touchdown to go along with an interception in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Roethlisberger added three carries for three yards.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger threw a bad pick-six and didn't come anywhere close to matching the standard he set for most of the season, although the absence of Antonio Brown certainly did not help matters. The 36-year-old did become only the seventh quarterback in league history to throw for 5,000 yards in a season (5,129), however, and also set a career high with 34 passing touchdowns. With one of the best supporting casts in the league at his disposal, Roethlisberger should be considered a mid-tier QB1 in 2019.

Dec 30 10:10pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 31 of his 45 pass attempts for 287 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 16-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. Despite the win, Roethlisberger didn't play particularly well in this one, with his interception getting returned by Shawn Williams for a 58-yard touchdown. Roethlisberger finishes the 2018 season with a career-high 5,129 passing yards and 34 passing touchdowns. He will be a locked-in QB1 in 2019 fantasy drafts.

RB James Conner (ankle), S Sean Davis (quadriceps), OG Ramon Foster (not injury related), C Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related) and QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) each practiced in full and are off the report.

Dec 28 4:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) practiced in full Friday, Dec. 28 and is off the injury report ahead of the Week 17 game with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger and the Steelers desperately need to win and get a Ravens loss in Week 17 to make the playoffs. Big Ben should be slinging it early and often, much to the benefit of fantasy owners playing into the final week.

Dec 27 6:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger has thrown at least two touchdowns in each of the last four games and will have a favorable matchup this week. He can be a No. 1 quarterback in most leagues.

Dec 26 5:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown (not injury related), S Sean Davis (quadriceps), C Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related), QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) and LB Vince Williams (toe) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26. RB James Conner (ankle) practiced in full.

Dec 26 5:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Head coach Mike Tomlin typically rests his big guns during mid-week practices, limiting the potential for injury before the game. Roethlisberger is fully expected to be ready for the ultra-crucial Week 17 game against the Bengals in a must-win game if the team wants a chance at the playoffs. Big Ben could put up huge numbers this week.

Dec 25 4:25pm ET

Pittsburgh's QB Ben Roethlisberger scored an impressive 33.40 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 16 loss in New Orleans. Roethlisberger threw for 380 yards on 33-of-50 with three touchdowns.

Dec 25 12:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger told KDKA-FM radio he has every intention of playing in 2019 but doesn't want to think about it until this season has ended, according to Chris Adamski, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Fantasy Spin: Big Ben enjoyed a strong fantasy season and should have plenty left in the tank. A system that fits his style is highlighted by a pair of stud receivers, only further suggesting he should be a sound QB1 once again.

Dec 23 10:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 33-of-50 passes for 380 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger's Steelers are on the brink of elimination from the playoff hunt if things don't go a certain way in Week 17. However, it's through no fault of Big Ben, as he has been outstanding and one of the only reasons they're in the hunt to begin with. He'll look to finish up strong in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Dec 23 9:40pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 33 of his 50 pass attempts for 380 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-28 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. Despite the real-life loss, Roethlisberger delivered a huge fantasy performance for his owners in the fantasy championship round. The star quarterback will draw a fantastic matchup against a reeling Cincinnati Bengals defense in Week 17. If your league plays through the end of the regular season, treat Roethlisberger as a top-three fantasy quarterback.
