Lynch returned to the field last season after a one-year retirement and had a decent season as the starter for the Raiders. The entire Raiders offense was a disappointment, though, leading to lower than expected numbers from Lynch. He ran for 891 yards, averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Lynch also scored seven touchdowns. Lynch didn't seem to lose much of a step last year but didn't seem like quite the same back from earlier in his career. He is 32 years old and nothing is guaranteed for him moving forward. Lynch is a big back with top speed and big-play ability. He also is a pretty good receiver out of the backfield. Lynch is as tough as any back in the league and tough to bring down on any run.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Lynch seems to be trending the wrong way. Last season was probably the start of the end for Lynch. You have to wonder if he can hold up in an expanded role. He has a ton of carries under his belt and runs very violently. Take him as a No. 3 back and hope for the best. He might get around 800 total yards and six or so scores.

Retired RB Marshawn Lynch is willing to play for the Oakland Raiders if they want to sign him, according to a source.
Fantasy Spin: Lynch announced his retirement a few weeks ago, but the Raiders lost Isaiah Crowell to a season-ending injury. The team has signed Doug Martin, so it is not known if they will be interested in Lynch. He probably will not have a lot of fantasy value if he joins the Raiders.
The Oakland Raiders selected Alabama running back Josh Jacobs with the No. 24 overall pick of the 2019 NFL draft. This was the selection that the Raiders acquired when they shipped defensive end Khalil Mack to the Bears last season. Jacobs split time in Alabama's backfield. He's a finisher with the rock in his hand but doesn't have a ton of breakaway speed. Jacobs is more of a north/south runner and is willing to block in all situations. He has great instincts and should be a big part of Oakland's backfield in 2019, as they lost Marshawn Lynch to retirement. Jacobs should have value in single-season formats this season, but the upside might be limited initially depending on how the Raiders utilize him.
Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch has decided to retire Wednesday, April 24.
Free-agent RB Marshawn Lynch (Raiders) will make a decision on whether or not to retire following the NFL Draft, according to Oakland Raiders general manager Mike Mayock. The Raiders have already said they would welcome Lynch back.
Fantasy Spin: Lynch turns 33 years old in April and is coming off injuries to his groin and core that caused him to miss 10 games last year, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him hang up the cleats. There is value to be had in Oakland's backfield, but right now it's one to stay away from in the fantasy realm.
Oakland Raiders impending free-agent RB Marshawn Lynch is considered more likely to remain with the Raiders since they will be staying in Oakland. Lynch has said he is open to playing this season under the right circumstances and head coach Jon Gruden said the team would love to retain him.
Fantasy Spin: Lynch turns 33 this offseason and dealt with a core muscly injury that put him on Injured Reserve last year. He can at least serve as a short-yardage and goal-line back, but he's no more than an RB3 candidate if he does return.
