Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 25, and is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players probably will need to check the inactive list to see if Johnson will be able to play. He probably would only see a handful of touches if he is active and can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

WR Kenny Stills (illness) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 25, after getting added to the injury report and is also listed as questionable. DE J.J. Watt (groin, non-injury) and WR Randall Cobb (non-injury) did not practice Friday but are expected to play. WR Brandin Cooks (quad), FB Cullen Gillaspia (concussion), OT Laremy Tunsil (elbow) and OT Tytus Howard (ankle) practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Sep 24 7:03pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson was not able to play last week despite being limited, so his status for this week is uncertain. He probably would see a handful of touches if he plays this week and can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Houston Texans WR Brandin Cooks (quad), RB Duke Johnson (ankle), LB Peter Kalambayi (hamstring) and OT Laremy Tunsil (elbow) were limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 24. FB Cullen Gillaspia (concussion), DE J.J. Watt (groin) and OT Tytus Howard (ankle) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Sep 23 6:03pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson played just 24 percent of the offensive snaps in Week 1 and sat out Week 2. He's purely a handcuff for David Johnson right now and the two aren't likely to both be viable fantasy options when paired together in the lineup.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 3:23pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 2 game.

Fantasy Spin: David Johnson will receive most of the snaps at running back and can be a No. 2 running back or flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 3:03pm ET

The Houston Texans have declared OT Charlie Heck, CB Cornell Armstrong, LB Jonathan Greenard, LB Peter Kalambayi, RB Duke Johnson and TE Pharaoh Brown inactive for Week 2.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 9:43am ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 2's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson had been listed as questionable on the injury report after being a limited practice participant throughout the week. Even if his condition suddenly improves enough for him to play this afternoon, fantasy owners should be able to find better options with more favorable matchups.

From TheHuddle

Sep 18 7:23pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 18, and is listed as questionable for Week 2.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson probably will be a game-time decision, so fantasy players will know more about his status closer to game time. He likely would only see a handful of touches if is active for the game and can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Sep 18 6:23pm ET

Houston Texans LB Peter Kalambayi (hamstring) did not practice Friday, Sept. 18, and is listed as questionable for Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens. WR Brandin Cooks (quad), OT Tytus Howard (ankle) and RB Duke Johnson (ankle) were limited all week and are also listed as questionable. WR Will Fuller (non-injury) did not participate in practice Friday but is expected to play. DE J.J. Watt (hip) was limited in practice all week but no longer appears on the injury report. LB Jonathan Greenard (ankle) and FB Cullen Gillaspia (hamstring) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Sep 18 12:10am ET

Houston Texans running back Duke Johnson (ankle) practiced on a limited basis on Thursday for the second straight day. Johnson was listed as week-to-week after suffering an ankle injury last Thursday in the season opener, but it looks as though he's made some quick progress. However, even if the 27-year-old winds up playing against a nasty Ravens Defense this week, he'll be a desperation flex play in PPR leagues. Buddy Howell is set to be the primary backup to David Johnson if Duke Johnson has to sit this one out.

Sep 17 5:53pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson appears to have a chance to play this week but may be a game-time decision. He would only see a handful of touches if he active for the game and can be avoided in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 17 5:33pm ET

Houston Texans WR Brandin Cooks (quad), OT Tytus Howard (non-injury), RB Duke Johnson (ankle), DE J.J. Watt (hip) and LB Peter Kalambayi (hamstring) were limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 17. LB Jonathan Greenard (ankle) and FB Cullen Gillaspia (hamstring) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Sep 16 5:13pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson suffered the injury during the opening game, and his status for Week 2 is uncertain at this point. Fantasy probably can find a better to use in their lineup and can avoid Johnson even if he is active for the game.

From TheHuddle

Sep 16 12:23pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) is practicing Wednesday, Sept. 16, according to a report.

Fantasy Spin: It's a good sign for his Week 2 status, but he doesn't have the kind of upside you'll want to run out there in your lineups this week unless you're thin on PPR flex options.

From TheHuddle

Sep 14 7:43pm ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson is considered day-to-day because of his injury, so fantasy players should check on his status later in the week. Fantasy players in most leagues probably will be able to find better options to use and can keep Johnson on the bench.

From TheHuddle

Sep 14 12:50pm ET

Houston Texans running back Duke Johnson (ankle), who sprained his ankle in the game last Thursday against the Chiefs, is considered week-to-week and is a long shot to play in Week 2 against the Ravens, according to a source. However, he has a chance to play in Week 3, as it's not believed to be a serious injury. Buddy Howell would be next in line for backup duties behind David Johnson, but he'll have no standalone value if Duke Johnson is inactive this Sunday. Johnson had just five carries for 14 yards in Week 1 against the Chiefs before getting hurt. He'll likely be dropped in shallower formats since he's unlikely to play this weekend, but he could have some deep PPR league value once he returns.

From RotoBaller

Sep 14 11:53am ET

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) is a long shot to play in Week 2, according to a source. He could return in Week 3, though.

Fantasy Spin: Buddy Howell could see a few touches, but it's unlikely to be enough to move the fantasy needle. David Johnson looks like a low-end RB1 against the Baltimore Ravens next week.

From TheHuddle

Sep 12 9:43am ET

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson (ankle) sustained a sprained ankle in Week 1's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and is considered week-to-week, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.

Fantasy Spin: David Johnson should see an increased workload (and increased fantasy value) if Duke Johnson is sidelined for an extended period of time, especially given how well he performed in the season opener. Buddy Howell could receive additional touches as well but is mainly a contributor on the special teams coverage units and should not be viewed as a viable fantasy option right now. The Texans also have C.J. Prosise and Scottie Phillips available on their practice squad.

From TheHuddle

Sep 11 9:50pm ET

Houston Texans running back Duke Johnson (ankle), who sprained his ankle in the Thursday night loss to the Chiefs, is now questionable for the team's Week 2 contest against the Ravens, according to a source. Johnson injured himself in the second half of the game and never returned, finishing with five carries for just 14 yards. It's definitely not the start he had in mind in his first game with the team. The 26-year-old was a late-round flier in PPR leagues with fantasy managers hoping that the Texans can make better use of him in the passing game than the Browns did. His practice participation next week will give us a better idea if he'll be able to return next week. If he can't, Buddy Howell would likely be David Johnson's backup against Baltimore.
