2019 RTSports Outlook

Consistency continues to be an issue for Stills. He had a 100-yard game Week 1 but had 40 or fewer yards nine of his next 10 games. He was a non-factor many weeks. Stills was a boom or bust fantasy play. A new coaching staff could be a positive for Stills, giving him a fresh start. He will try to earn a big role offensively. Stills has at least 27 receptions four straight seasons with the Dolphins. Stills is a good athlete with quickness and the knack for making the tough catch. And while he lacks some size, Stills is a good deep threat because of his speed and quickness. He will drop some easy passes, though, and lacks a little consistency at this stage of his career. Fantasy Outlook: Stills has produced pretty similar numbers all four seasons with the Dolphins, so expect more of the same. This makes him a guy to use on a spot start basis. He is always capable of the big game and will score some touchdowns. Look for around 40 receptions for 600 yards and six touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Miami Dolphins wide receiver has a great chance for a rebound season, but his overall value depends on who is given the starting quarterback job. Ryan Fitzpatrick has shown throughout his career that he is not afraid of taking chances with the ball downfield, which is where Stills has consistently excelled during his career. Fitzpatrick was able to demonstrate that talent in the early part of last season where downfield threat DeSean Jackson had an average of four receptions for 98 yards and just under a touchdown per game in the opening five games they played together. Stills finished the season with just 37 receptions for 553 yards and six touchdowns, representing his lowest statistics in three years. They may well have effectively the same receiving options from 2018 with Stills, Albert Wilson and Devante Parker all returning, but they are still a team in transition. Stills certainly has the biggest upside of the three, especially if Fitzpatrick is the starter, if not Josh Rosen will limit his upside. Rosen is still likely an upgrade from previous quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but wouldn't give Stills matchup winning stats.

Houston Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills caught a pair of passes for 38 yards in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was targeted three times. Stills looks like an interesting deep league fantasy option when Houston has a good matchup, but against a defense as good as Jacksonville, he just wasn't able to put it together. He'll be a better play against the Chargers in Week 3, but you're going to have to be willing to absorb a lot of risk if you start him.

Sep 13 11:00am ET

Houston Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills is a fantasy risk in Week 2 against a Jacksonville Jaguars Defense that has been among the league's best in recent years. Jacksonville struggled to stop the Chiefs in Week 1, but a potential bounce back performance coupled with Stills being the clear third option in this Texans passing game means that there's too much risk to trust Stills this week as more than a flex option in 14-team leagues. In any shallower format, you've got to have a safer option that you can go with.

Houston Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills caught three passes for 37 yards and a big touchdown in the Week 1 loss to the Saints on Monday night in his debut with the team. The Texans plan to increase his role in the offense as he learns more of the playbook. He's an interesting waiver wire acquisition in deeper leagues, but Stills' role will depend on if and when second-year wideout Keke Coutee (ankle) can get back on the field. Stills has more experience than Coutee, so he could easily leap him on the depth chart as the team's No. 3 wideout behind DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.

Sep 10 6:13pm ET

Houston Texans WR Kenny Stills was limited to 27 of the team's 64 snaps in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints, primarily because he was acquired so late in the preseason, according to comments made by head coach Bill O'Brien. According to the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson, the Texans plan to expand his role as he learns more of the playbook.

Fantasy Spin: It's unclear at this moment if an increase in Stills' playing time will come at the expense of Keke Coutee's snaps. Either way, Stills' skill-set is a good fit with Deshaun Watson's ability to throw deep, so there is plenty of potential for multiple weeks of spiked production moving forward. Stills isn't quite ready to be considered a fantasy starter yet, but he needs to be owned in the majority of leagues and should be a savvy DFS play when the right matchup presents itself.

Houston Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills caught three passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in Monday's loss to the New Orleans Saints. That touchdown was a 37-yard catch with under a minute to play, which means Stills had an unimpressive line of two catches for no yards before that play. With Keke Coutee (ankle) set to return in the near future, Stills is going to be a boom-or-bust fantasy option with a big advantage for the bust side moving forward. He's got the speed to make an impact in Houston, but he's too far down in the team's pecking order.

Sep 9 11:53pm ET

Houston Texans WR Kenny Stills posted three receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Week 1 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Spin: Stills came up with a 37-yard grab in the final minute, and it appeared to be the game winner. But Drew Brees engineered a late drive to set his team up with a game-winning field goal. Stills made a splash in his team debut, though, and he is a solid low-end WR4 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 2 against the Jaguars.

From TheHuddle

Sep 3 7:33pm ET

Houston Texans WR Kenny Stills was listed as the backup to WR Will Fuller on the team's unofficial depth chart released Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Stills won't be worth drafting, as he apparently lost out on WR3 duties to Keke Coutee. Given Fuller's troubled injury history; however, he'll be a name worth monitoring on the waiver wire and could quickly regain relevance.

Aug 31 7:30pm ET

The Houston Texans have acquired wide receiver Kenny Stills as part of a deal with the Miami Dolphins that also landed the team left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Stills' fit in Houston is intriguing, as he has the speed to be a major downfield threat for quarterback Deshaun Watson. The problem lies with the construction of Houston's roster. DeAndre Hopkins is Houston's top wideout and remains that, but beyond that the team has Will Fuller and Keke Coutee. Coutee is more of an underneath guy, but Fuller and Stills have overlapping skill sets. They'll likely split time as the second outside receiver, though Stills will probably see slot snaps in Week 1 as Keke Coutee deals with an ankle injury. Stills' fantasy value wasn't high in Miami, and while the Texans will throw a ton more, the competition for targets has me leaving him about where he was before the trade in my projections.

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills and OT Laremy Tunsil were acquired by the Houston Texans Saturday, Aug. 31, in exchange for two first-round draft choices, a second-round draft choice, CB Johnson Bademosi and OT Julie'n Davenport, according to sources. The Texans will also receive a fourth-round draft choice in the trade.

Fantasy Spin: Stills will be joining a Texans receiving corps with DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller and Keke Coutee, so his role is uncertain at this point. His fantasy value likely will take a hit because of the trade, but he could still be a valuable option for fantasy players.

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills is a strong candidate to be traded with the Houston Texans a possible landing spot as part of a rumored deal for DE/LB Jadeveon Clowney.

Fantasy Spin: Stills currently is an end-of-bench fantasy WR candidate in Miami, and while a trade to Houston would certainly mean an upgrade in QBs, the Texans' WR corps already is fairly well stocked if Will Fuller and Keke Coutee are healthy alongside stud WR1 DeAndre Hopkins.

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills is a candidate to be traded or released, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.

Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones, linebacker Kiko Alonso and wide receiver Kenny Stills are among those available on the trade market, according to league sources. However, a high-ranking official said on Saturday that he doubts the Dolphins will find a taker for Alonso or Stills because other teams would wait for them to be cut. Jones isn't expected to have an every-down role anymore, and Alonso's playing time is also expected to diminish drastically. Stills can still have an impact in fantasy as a deep threat, but his boom-or-bust ways make him frustrating to own, especially with Miami's QB situation less than ideal. Stills could have more fantasy appeal as a WR4 if he were dealt to another team.

From RotoBaller

Aug 23 12:00am ET

Miami wide receiver Kenny Stills did mostly nothing in Miami's 22-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in preseason action on Thursday night, catching one of his two targets for 14 yards. Stills wasn't the only one who was bottled up as the Dolphins struggled mightily against the Jaguar starters, not gaining a first down until their fourth possession of the game. Currently with a 171 ADP, Stills' stock will continue to fall as long as the Dolphins continue to have a subpar offense.

From RotoBaller

Aug 19 12:20pm ET

Perennially underrated, Dolphin's wide receiver Kenny Stills caught two of his three targets for 16 yards in a 16-14 preseason loss to Tampa Bay on Friday. With a 172 ADP in NFBC, Stills is the 67th wide receiver being taken, which is just a few spots after teammate Devante Parker. Stills was a top-30 WR in 2016 and 2017 and was still the #52 WR last year after a disappointing Dolphins season, catching only 37 passes for 538 yards and six touchdowns.

From RotoBaller

Jul 25 10:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills (undisclosed) practiced Thursday, July 25, and caught a pair of touchdowns in the red zone.

Fantasy Spin: Stills has always flashed big-play ability, but consistent production has eluded him. He can be a depth option as a boom-or-bust WR4 in redraft leagues, but he has some upside in best ball formats.

From TheHuddle

Jun 5 4:13pm ET

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills (undisclosed) has missed the first two practices during minicamp this week because of an undisclosed injury, but head coach Brian Flores said Stills will be fine.

Fantasy Spin: Stills should be a starter for the Dolphins this season and could be the main option in the passing game. He could be at least a No. 4 fantasy receiver in deeper leagues.
