2019 RTSports Outlook

Washington was a healthy scratch early last year and didn't play much when he was finally in the lineup. He had 30 carries for 115 yards in 10 games and caught just a pass. His production has slipped each season since entering the league. Washington will try to earn a bigger role this year. Washington lacks some height but has pretty good size and speed. He does well in short-yardage situations and also catches the ball well out of the backfield. Washington is more of a home-run threat than a back that churns out the tough yards.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Washington is not worth a draft pick. He is not getting the work right now. He could get a few hundred total yards with a score.

Oakland Raiders RB DeAndre Washington has secured the No. 2 running back spot behind RB Josh Jacobs after Oakland released RB Doug Martin. RB Jalen Richard will remain a third-down back.

Fantasy Spin: Washington has dazzled this summer, and he offers a hint of upside as a last-ditch flier in huge leagues or best-ball setups. He would be the logical handcuff to Josh Jacobs, but there's not a lot of value in drafting him as such in traditional leagues.

Oakland Raiders running back Deandre Washington led the rush attack in the first half in the team's preseason opener versus the Rams on Saturday. He scampered into the end zone for a seven-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the game, finishing the night with 24 yards on six rushes. Washington also added two catches for 21 yards on an evening with very few starting pieces in action for both sides. The 26-year-old won't receive much playing time this season, sitting fourth on the team's running back depth chart, and would be fortunate just to crack the Raiders roster. Washington can be safely ignored in all formats.

Oakland Raiders RBs Chris Warren III and DeAndre Washington are likely competing for one roster spot, in the opinion of NBC Sports Bay Area's Scott Bair, who lists RBs Josh Jacobs, Jalen Richard and Doug Martin as locks to make the 53-man roster.
