Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald's one-year deal is worth nearly $16 million. He'll have an $11 million base salary and received a $4.85 million signing bonus.
Fantasy Spin: Fitz took a step back in fantasy last season, albeit the quarterback issues had something to do with it. That may not change in 2019, and he's a PPR WR3 target with minimal upside.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald needs 23 receptions to reach 1,326 receptions and pass former NFL TE Tony Gonzalez for second place on the all-time receptions list. Former NFL WR Jerry Rice tops the list at 1,549 catches. For a loftier goal, Fitzgerald needs 13 touchdowns to reach 129 career receiving touchdowns and pass former NFL WR Marvin Harrison for fifth on the all-time receiving touchdowns list.
Fantasy Spin: After Fitz finishes his 2019 campaign, he'll go down as one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the game. His 2018 season left something to be desired, but he has scored at least six touchdowns in each of the last four seasons. With a new offensive minded head coach and another offseason under Josh Rosen's belt, Fitz possesses PPR WR2 value.
The Arizona Cardinals signed veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to a one-year deal on Wednesday so that he can return for a 16th season. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Fitzgerald will turn 36 at the end of August but will remain the No. 1 wideout on the team because of his experience. His numbers took a hit in one of the worst offenses in the NFL in 2018, but he still led the team in receptions (69), receiving yards (734) and touchdowns (six). While Fitz can still make an impact on the field, he'll be returning to his third head coach in three years, but the addition of Kliff Kingsbury could improve the offense moving forward. We won't say for sure that Fitzgerald will return to the 1,000-yard mark, but he should be a serviceable WR3 at the very least.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald announced Wednesday, Jan. 23, that he'll return for the 2019 season.
Fantasy Spin: Fitz had a 69-734-6 season, which was well below the 100-catch, 1,000-yard seasons the three years previously. The rookie quarterback was part of the problem, but he doesn't have much more upside next season. He's still a PPR asset, but he'll be a mid-round option as a WR3.
Updating an earlier report, Arizona Cardinals impending free-agent WR Larry Fitzgerald re-signed with the Cardinals on a one-year deal. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said he has not decided if he will play next season. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he would like Fitzgerald to return, but Kingsbury's hiring has not swayed Fitzgerald in either direction.
Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald failed to post at least 1,000 yards for the first time in four seasons but still posted solid numbers in 2018. He likely would continue to be a main option in the passing game if he plays next season and can be a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught four of his nine targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 versus the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Spin: There is a chance Fitzgerald was playing the final game of his distinguished career, although he still has plenty left to give physically. Whether or not he wants to return for another year of the Cardinals' rebuilding project is another story. Fitzgerald ends his 15th season with 69 catches, 734 yards and six touchdowns. If he calls it a career, he'll do so ranked inside the top three all-time in career receptions (1,303) and receiving yards (16,279) with an invite to the Hall of Fame coming five years down the road.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald has been targeted 26 times over the last three games and appears to have a solid chemistry with Josh Rosen. He can be considered a flex option in some leagues this week.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 27.
Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald has been targeted at least six times in each of the last four games and has recorded over 50 yards in each of the last three games. He can be considered a flex option in some deeper leagues but can also be benched if owners have better options.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) returned to practice Thursday, Dec. 27, after receiving a veteran's rest day on Wednesday.
Fantasy Spin: Fitz has been heavily involved in the Cards' passing attack of late, drawing 26 targets over the last three games and converting those into 18 receptions for 190 yards while also throwing a 32-yard TD pass. Expect that usage to continue Sunday in what could be his final NFL game.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Fantasy Spin: It's typical protocol for the future Hall-of-Fame wide-out. He'll continue serving as a serviceable WR3 in leagues that are still going on into Week 17. Fitzgerald has drawn at least eight targets in each of the last three games -- and may see more than that if this is indeed his final NFL game.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald had a decent night in Week 16 despite losing to the Rams. Fitzgerald caught six of nine targets for 53 yards and threw for a 32 yard touchdown. Fitzgerald is a high-end flex option in Week 17 as the team's leading pass-catcher.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught six of his nine targets for 53 yards and threw a 32-yard touchdown pass in a 31-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16.
Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald hasn't announced if he will return in 2019, but in the meantime, he remains a low-upside flex option heading into what could be his final NFL game.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 21, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.
Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald has been targeted 23 times over the last three weeks and is coming off one of his better games of the season in Week 15. He will be facing a solid Los Angeles Rams defense this week but could still be a low-end No. 3 receiver or flex option.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald faces the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16, and his 179 receptions against the Rams are the most that one player has against a single opponent in NFL history.
Fantasy Spin: It's been a rough year for Fitzgerald with rookie Josh Rosen under center, but he has shown a little life recently with 12 catches on 17 targets for 137 yards over the last two games. The Cardinals will likely be playing from behind against the Rams, so Fitzgerald has some WR3 potential.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) was back at practice Thursday, Dec. 20, and fully participated.
Fantasy Spin: This is how it normally goes for the future Hall-of-Fame wide-out in terms of practicing. He'll be out there on Sunday versus the Rams and could benefit considerably from game flow if the Cardinals are losing decisively for most of the contest. As a result, he's a viable WR3.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Fantasy Spin: It's just a standard rest day for the 15-year vet. Though Arizona's offense has mostly struggled with rookie QB Josh Rosen, Fitzgerald has still proven himself as a viable WR3. He logged his third game of the season with at least seven catches in his most recent outing and has drawn 17 targets the last two weeks.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught seven of eight targets for 82 yards in the Week 15 loss at the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Spin: The well-seasoned veteran continues to chip in but hasn't been his former self due to injuries and erratic quarterback play in 2018. The Los Angeles Rams are ahead in Week 16, and Fitz has low-tier appeal in all formats. He caught just three passes for 28 yards in the Week 2 meeting.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald had a decent performance in the team's loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. Fitzgerald had seven catches on eight targets for 82 yards and led the team through the air. Fitzgerald has been up-and-down this season but looks to return flex value going forward due to his status as the team's top receiver.
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.
Fantasy Spin: Fitzgerald has not been as productive this season as he has been in the past but is still posting solid numbers for owners. He should have some success this week against the Atlanta Falcons and can be a No. 3 receiver or flex option.
