Oakland Raiders wide receiver Ryan Grant had another good showing in preseason Week 2 versus the Cardinals on Thursday. In his brief time on the field, he hauled in his lone target of the game for a 13-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr to cap off the team's first drive of the game. Grant played exclusively with the first-team offense in this contest, despite currently sitting second on the team's depth chart at slot receiver. The veteran is on the roster bubble but has certainly made a strong case to break camp with the team. Even if Grant usurps rookie Hunter Renfrow on the depth chart, he won't hold much fantasy relevance during the season, making him avoidable in all formats.
Oakland Raiders WR Ryan Grant caught three of his four targets for 32 yards in a 14-3 preseason win over the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, Aug. 10.
Fantasy Spin: The word out of camp is that Grant has been passed by Hunter Renfrow in the battle for the starting slot receiver job, but nothing is set in stone yet. Whoever wins the job could be a late-round lottery ticket in PPR formats, especially if all the Antonio Brown drama leads to the star receiver missing any games.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Ryan Grant caught three of his four targets on Saturday, finishing with 32 yards in the team's 14-3 win over the Rams. The former Colt played most of the first half, proving to be a reliable target for quarterback Mike Glennon in a game dominated by mostly backup players for both teams. Grant is currently fighting for a roster spot, sitting behind Hunter Renfrow on the depth chart for the starting slot receiving role. He will have a hard time surpassing the rookie with all the praise he's been getting by Derek Carr and the coaching staff so far in camp, but he made a good case for himself in this one. Even if Grant cracks a roster spot, he won't be worth looking at in all fantasy formats.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Ryan Grant is dealing with a back injury and is considered day-to-day. The 28-year-old is currently behind fifth-round rookie Hunter Renfrow for the teams slot receiver job, and is battling just for a roster spot since signing a one-year deal back in April. This injury doesnt seem serious, but any setback like this is a cause for concern regarding his roster spot. Even if Grant breaks camp with the Silver and Black, he wont be of any fantasy use.
Oakland Raiders WR Ryan Grant (back) and LB Kyle Wilber (back) are considered day-to-day because of injuries, according to head coach Jon Gruden. Neither player participated in practice Thursday, Aug. 8.
Oakland Raiders WR Ryan Grant appears to be the likeliest option to open the season in the slot, in the opinion of NBC Sports Bay Area's Scott Bair, but the team really likes rookie WR Hunter Renfrow, and Bair believes he'll be given every chance to earn a role. Beyond starting WRs Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, Bair lists WR Dwayne Harris, the team's return man, as the only other lock.
Oakland Raiders WR Ryan Grant has been working with the first-team offense in three-receiver sets during spring practices.
