Los Angeles Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth announced on Friday that he and his whole family tested positive for COVID-19 after coming in contact with a friend. "It was definitely a scary thing and realize how contagious this is," Whitworth said. It's unclear if the 38-year-old offensive tackle will be ready to report to training camp next week. Whitworth has made the Pro Bowl four times in his career and was a first-team All-Pro selection twice, including in his first season with the Rams in 2017. A picture of health in his NFL career, he remains a key piece of the team's offensive line as quarterback Jared Goff's blind-side protector.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff is going to be given more ownership of the offense in his fifth year in the league, though it's unclear what that will actually look like. Goff's performance has been more impacted by the quality of his offensive line than his responsibility level in the past. In 2017 and 2018, Goff excelled when he was stationed behind top-10 offensive lines, and he struggled to open the 2019 season when LA's offensive line was in flux. When it settled and improved in December of last year, so did Goff. If he can be given an above-average offensive line once again, Goff will likely see more success.

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff needs to take ownership of the offense, according to offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell.

Fantasy Spin: Goff struggled last season behind a leaky offensive line, and the running game wasn't nearly as affective. He'll have something to prove this year as a low-end QB1 or high-end QB2 value pick.

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff had the lowest Pro Football Focus in the NFL last season when forced to look past his first read. He has a top-10 PFF grade on first-read throws over the last two seasons.

Fantasy Spin: This is a bad look for Goff, especially considering he was equipped with one of the NFL's best receiving corps once again in 2019. Poor offensive line play can take a large share of the blame, but Goff will need to improve his progressions and take less time to throw. He's a mid-tier QB2.

Jun 10 4:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff said he has been working out with some of his teammates during the shutdown and has been working to his receivers for a while.

Fantasy Spin: Goff threw for at least 4,600 yards for the second straight season but saw his touchdown passes go from 32 in 2018 to 22 last season. He still has one of the better groups of pass catchers to work with this upcoming season but may only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

May 24 5:43pm ET

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff was sacked on only 3.3 percent of his 662 dropbacks in 2019 - the second-lowest mark for a quarterback with at least 615 dropbacks in a season since 2015.

From TheHuddle

May 17 5:43pm ET

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff (68) was the only NFL quarterback in 2019 to attempt more than 50 passes on seven-step drops in 2019, according to USA TODAY's Doug Farrar.

From TheHuddle

May 14 7:33pm ET

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff was the least efficient passer in the league on play-action attempts in 2019, but he attempted more play-action throws than any other QB.

Fantasy Spin: The Rams running game also struggled in 2019 with no RB averaging 4.0 yards per carry or better. An improved rushing attack would go hand-in-hand with helping Goff in 2020 and second-round pick RB Cam Akers could lead that improvement.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff restructured his contract Friday, April 24, freeing up $7 million in salary cap space for 2020, according to a source.

From TheHuddle

Apr 24 4:10pm ET

The Los Angeles Rams saved approximately $7 million off the salary cap today by successfully restructuring Jared Goff's contract. The move was considered a given throughout the offseason, though the timing was a little surprising since the team allowed Goff's massive $21 million roster bonus to credit before completing the move. The savings will free up enough to take care of the free agent signings of Leonard Floyd and A'Shawn Robinson for now, but LA is still riding close to the cap. They may have to work on restructuring star defensive lineman Aaron Donald's contract to create more space in the near future.

From RotoBaller

Apr 15 6:40pm ET

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff said he'd be open to restructuring his contract to free up some salary cap space for the team. Goff signed for four years and $134 million last September, with $110 million guaranteed. The two-time Pro Bowler also had the worst of his three full seasons in 2019, and the Rams were forced to let several players go, including running back Todd Gurley, because of their strenuous salary cap position. Losing Gurley in the backfield will hurt, but Goff still has two very capable receivers at his disposal in Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, and the tight end duo of Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett is intriguing. But after last year's flop, Goff will be more of a midrange fantasy backup.

Apr 15 5:13pm ET

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff said he is open to restructuring his contract if the team needs to create some salary cap space.

Fantasy Spin: The Rams have made pretty big changes to their offense this season, but Goff will continue to be the starting quarterback for years to come. He threw for 4,638 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2019 but may only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season.

From TheHuddle

Mar 1 6:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff has a $36 million cap hit in 2020, and beat writer Rich Hammond suggests the QB is a prime candidate for restructure. Goff has it written into his contract that the team can restructure without permission from the player.
