New England Patriots RB James White was charged with only two drops on 95 targets last season, resulting in a drop percentage of 2.1. White was charged with a drop on 4.1 percent of his 123 targets in 2018.
New England Patriots running back James White caught five passes for a team-high 62 yards in the team's disappointing loss to the Titans in the Wild Card Round. The veteran also added a run for 14 yards in a game where the Patriots offense really struggled in the second half. After posting 12 total touchdowns in 2018, White's numbers took a severe hit this season. White had an active role in the offense this season but his best fantasy days may be behind him heading into 2020.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 20 of his 37 passes for 209 yards and an interception in a 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card round Saturday, Jan. 4. RB Sony Michel rushed 14 times for 61 yards and caught two passes for nine yards, and RB James White caught five passes for 62 yards and rushed once for 14 yards. WR Julian Edelman caught three of his five passes for 30 yards and rushed twice for 12 yards and a touchdown, WR N'Keal Harry caught two of his seven targets for 21 yards, WR Mohamed Sanu caught one of his four passes for 11 yards, WR Phillip Dorsett caught one of his four targets for six yards, and TE Benjamin Watson caught three of his four targets for 38 yards. LB Dont'a Hightower led the team with nine tackles, including eight solo stops and one tackle for loss.
New England Patriots running back James White isn't the lead back for his team, but he has been the most consistent producer for fantasy owners and should be involved plenty in Saturday's Wild Card matchup with Tennessee. White only had double-digit carries once this season, but has made at least three catches in 13 of 15 games while averaging nine yards per catch giving him a solid PPR floor. White doesn't have huge upside unless he scores but he has found the end zone four times since Week 13 so he could be worth the price on DFS sites vs a Titans Defense that allows the tenth-most receiving yards to running backs.
New England Patriots running back James White caught three passes for 33 yards with one touchdown in the team's 27-24 loss to the Dolphins in Week 17. White's touchdown, his fifth receiving score of the season, put the Patriots up in the fourth quarter but the defense could not hang onto the lead. White finishes the season with 72 receptions and six total scores after posting 12 total touchdowns last season. The entire Patriots offense has taken a step back lately, hurting White's fantasy prospects heading into the postseason.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 16-of-29 passes for 221 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in an upset loss at home to the Miami Dolphins. RB Sony Michel led the way with 74 rushing yards on 18 attempts while scoring a touchdown, with RB Rex Burkhead adding 48 yards on six carries. WR Phillip Dorsett had a team-high 50 yards on one grab with four targets, while LB/FB Elandon Roberts had a 38-yard touchdown on his only touch. RB James White also added a score while finishing with three catches for 33 yards, and WR Julian Edelman managed three grabs for 26 yards on seven targets. WR N'Keal Harry also had three catches for 29 yards on seven targets while running once for nine yards.
New England Patriots running back James White will take on a Dolphins Defense in Week 17 that is allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing backs this season. White himself scored a touchdown against them in Week 2 but it has been a disappointing season for the veteran. After posting 12 total touchdowns and 1,176 total yards a year ago, White enters the final game of the season with only five total scores and 871 yards from scrimmage. White has a positive matchup but the Patriots utilize multiple running backs in their attack. White's fantasy value is mostly a roll of the dice at this point heading into the final game.
New England Patriots running back James White caught four passes for only 24 yards in the Patriots 24-17 win over the Bills. White also saw three carries in the game but only managed five yards. It has been a bit of a running back roulette in the backfield for the Patriots this season with teammates Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead shining in this victory. White's numbers this season pale in comparison to the 1,176 total yards and 12 touchdowns he put up last season. He will be a boom-or-bust candidate with low-floor potential in fantasy for Week 17.
New England Patriots RB James White rushed three times for five yards and caught four of his five targets for 24 receiving yards Saturday, Dec. 21, against the Buffalo Bills.
Fantasy Spin: Both Rex Burkhead and Sony Michel had more impressive games Saturday. Michel is the most appealing option from New England's backfield, while White and Burkhead alternate as the No. 2.
New England Patriots running back James White will take on a Bills Defense that is allowing the 12th fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. White caught eight passes for 57 yards against the Bills in Week 4 and heads into Week 16 with 65 receptions for 588 yards and four receiving touchdowns. White has lacked effectiveness running the football but has carved out a role in the passing game in a struggling offense. The Bills have been vulnerable giving up yards to running backs in the passing game and White is a safety valve for quarterback Tom Brady. Of all the running backs that will suit up for the Patriots, White has the best fantasy value heading into Week 16.
New England Patriots RB James White rushed three times for 13 yards in Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added three grabs for a team-high 49 yards and a score.
Fantasy Spin: White was one of the most productive fantasy options for the New England offense, but that's not saying much. It was an underwhelming day for the offense as a whole. The Patriots will host the Bills in Week 16 and he remains a solid RB3 or flex fantasy option in PPR formats with lesser appeal in standard play.
New England Patriots running back James White totaled only 62 yards from scrimmage but caught and ran for a 23-yard touchdown in the Patriots win over the Bengals in Week 15. The Patriots coasted to victory after a tight first half and explosive plays simply were not on the menu in this contest. White has been a disappointment in fantasy this season but his impact on the offense over the last month continues to increase. Of all the runners in the Patriots backfield, White is the one to deploy in fantasy lineups over the final few weeks.
New England Patriots running back James White will take on a Bengals Defense in Week 15 that is allowing the eighth most fantasy points to opposing backs this season. The Patriots offense is in quite a slump right now but White has emerged as the lead back over the past few games. Teammate Sony Michel simply is not a threat in the passing game and White brings more versatility to the position. The Bengals have allowed 16 different running backs this season to post 10 or more fantasy points against them and look for quarterback Tom Brady to target White plenty in this contest. White will be a RB2/3 option in Week 15 with a solid chance at 100 total yards from scrimmage against the Bengals.
New England Patriots RB James White ran six times for 33 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14. He added five catches for 27 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Coming off a huge Week 13, White crashed back to Earth on Sunday, collecting 60 total yards and no TDs. He's been up and down all season, as have all of New England's backs, but he remains the best option of the bunch, especially in PPR leagues.
New England Patriots running back James White carried the ball six times for 33 yards and added five receptions for 35 yards in the Patriots Week 14 loss to the Chiefs. On a night when the Patriots offense struggled for most of the game there weren't many bright spots to be found. From a fantasy perspective, however, White is slowly taking hold of the lead running back duties in the backfield. The Patriots appear to have lost all faith in second-year back Sony Michel and White brings versatility in the passing game. Look for White's touches to continue to rise in the final three games of the season.
New England Patriots running back James White will go up against a Chiefs Defense that has allowed the second most fantasy points to running backs this season. This matches up perfectly with White coming off his best game of the season. The Chiefs have allowed 16 different running backs to post nine or more fantasy points against them this season and White posted 177 yards from scrimmage with two touchdowns last week. The Patriots will need to throw a ton to keep up with the Chiefs powerful offense and quarterback Tom Brady could lean heavily on White in Week 14.
New England Patriots RB James White carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards on Sunday, Dec. 1, against the Houston Texans. White also registered eight receptions for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Fantasy Spin: A week after logging just three touches for minus-one yard, White turned 22 combined touches into 177 yards and two scores. Such is life for a Patriots back as it's rarely clear what the plan will be. Of course, much of White's production came with the game seemingly out of reach against prevent coverage when he stayed on the field. White is probably the best of the Patriots backs, particularly in PPR leagues, and he could have some upside against the Chiefs.
New England Patriots running back James White carried the ball 14 times for 79 yards and added eight catches for 98 yards with two touchdowns in Week 13. The Patriots offense stalled against the Texans in this tough loss but White delivered plenty of yards in the second half. This was the type of performance fantasy owners have been waiting for from the veteran after seeing 25 touches in the game. The Patriots is suddenly struggling and quarterback Tom Brady sees White as one of his safety valves. While the offense sorts out its issues, this could be a boon for White in fantasy over the next few weeks.
New England Patriots running back James White will be looking to get his season back on track after posting one of the worst fantasy lines of his career in Week 12. White totaled negative yards from scrimmage against the Cowboys in a rain-soaked affair last week and now will face a Texans Defense that is allowing the 11th most fantasy points to running backs this season. White's productivity, and by extension the Patriots offense, is a far cry from last season's output and veteran has only two touchdowns this season after scoring 12 in 2018. White should be able to post positive yards in Week 13 but his fantasy value certainly is at a new low heading into the weekend's action.
New England Patriots running back James White carried the ball twice for five yards and caught only one pass for negative-six yards in the Patriots 13-9 win over the Cowboys. Heavy rain hit the field for most of the game and offense was hard to find on both sides of the ball. The veteran White disappeared from the action early as teammate Sony Michel led the team with 20 carries. This is, by far, is White's worst fantasy performance of the season and should be downgraded in all formats heading into Week 13.
